Because the game wasn't built with PvP in mind. It's one of the worst additions to the game because the netcode and the system can't handle it properly, to say absolutely nothing of their atrocious "balance".

It is, but the one good thing out of only have the remotes is at least the standardization of the different pings for different things. After a while you can play some calls by ear.

They are still marginally worse than PLD and WAR.

JP could probably clear coil with whatever jobs they wanted if they cared enough desu.

It takes a while for the game to get good. It'll feel like a bog standard MMORPG up until level 40 or so, and the plot doesn't really get good until Heavensward. And no, you can't just ignore the MSQ.

Had a match the other night where we just could not kill each other. Went into culling twice and that was the only time we managed to get a kill on them. Was just a straight 10 minutes of hitting each other with wiffle bats.

The biggest issue with PvP in this game, netcode aside, is how fucking ridiculous healers are. A healer should not be able to tank half a team. A healer shouldn't even be able to keep one person alive through a bunch of focus fire on the reg, cooldowns maybe for a few seconds, but it's fucking ridiculous how asinine healers are. Melee are also fucking worthless.

as a BLM along with a DRK and BRD took so fucking long to kill a single WHM, it just kept healing through everything even my limit break barely phased him.

Melee is what made me switch to healer. MNK is the absolute worst in every pvp mode except Feast because less people and the stun. But unlike other jobs there's no knockback or jump back so they just die immediately once they get their DPS in.

The only way for an LB to kill a healer seems to be praying that the latency fucks over one of their casts.
Healers in XIV PvP is the type of shit you get on games with private servers and abusive admins, the fact that it went live in this state is absolutely appalling.

DRG has several dedicated poke buttons. It's the best melee because you can hit ranged, get in close, and immediately jump out of the heat.

It's definitely real. Seen the same type of shit on Sargatanas but it's more low key.

DRG does reasonably well because of their ability to hit from afar with Jump and their stun, NIN is pretty shit and MNK is a complete joke

Battlefront 2 is a new game that's just released. This game's degenerates discus content that's 2 years old because there's nothing new to it even with updates. Pretty sad.

I wanted to try the feast for the first time this season but I'm getting disconnected at least twice an hour so I haven't stepped in at all

I don't hate FFXIV PvP, but it definitely feels like a sideshow.

Good PvP should have a large learning curve to the top and be fertile ground for all sorts of player-made adventures. It needs to make use of terrain, unit management, visibility, gambits, and other things that are under the player's control. FFXIV PvP is mostly just trying to gang up on one enemy player and throw out skills to kill him quickly while avoiding becoming that player to the other team + breaking ice.

This may look like a shitpost to most, but this is what /xivg/ actually believes Sup Forums is like. We don't want to join you in your fucking general, fuck off.

there are lots of freaks in online games I'm sure you'll find your fit. People advertise in PF all the time.
If they wanted to fix PvP they should start with removing the idea of having dedicated healers who can just spam full heals on the regular. Healer jobs should be pushed into more of a ranged damage/support role with their staple being purely supportive but not sustaining, ie, shields, damage buffs while using casts to do minor damage and applying slows or debuffs to enemy targets. Being a healer in PvP is insanely mindless and forgiving when compared to playing say melee dps which are pretty much fucked if they ever try to dive, given they will never have the output to compete with heal spam.

I'd like that kind of a change to healers a lot. The idea of having dedicated healers that can outheal damage easily in PvP is just fucking awful.

Yeah it does seem kind of a weird thing to use as a mount. Even better than mounts would be if they did some hard tuning passes for PvP, but I guess they're apparently okay with it in their current state? Which makes no sense whatsoever. I kind of wish they would release internal memos and video logs of what the test team did in PVP so players could compare and at least get a feel for where the devs are coming from (this extends to other games too) since game balance is such a testy subject
