I beat the entire thing, collected all gold bolts an stranding cards in about 8 hours.
Is this the future of ratchet and clank? What even happened to insomniac?

I'm waiting to see how spiderman turns out. It looks pretty good so far.
movie tie in
R&C died with the PS3 games so I don't know what you were expecting.
Quality > Quantity
You’ll understand this when you get older, kid.
They didn't have time to design any levels cause movie.
Shame because the gameplay was fun, especially the jetpack section, but too easy.
It'll have moon swinging
A crack in time was great outside of only having 7 planets, and the clank sections all looking the same, and azimuth following you everywhere and killing the enemies for you, and enemies not respawning on revisited planets, and the 2d space sections and the moons platforming being mostly automated with hover boot ramps.
Constructo weapons should have made a comeback instead of the shitty combusted and fusion bomb, too.
They made the game in 10 months, blame sony, it's the second R&C in a row that gets half assed despite having amazing potential due to sony's retardation.
They made ratchet abdclank 2 in 10 months as well.
it was short, but i had a blast
just got up your arsenal for a few bucks... what am i in for?
sure developing a PS2 game reusing plenty of assets is the same as a PS4 one made from scratch
Potentially the best game in the series.
The new game reused a bunch of assets as well.
There were no new weapons, and those tribals from ACIT were brought back.
The original was only a few hours longer, user.
COME AND BUY A PIXELIZER
>Up Your Arsenal
What the fuck I just got the joke
That's pretty daring for a kids game
I'm only 2 purchases away from a set of steal knives
Amazing game, but almost 0 platforming, TERRIBLE hack minigame, plenty of reused enemies from the first game and several arena-based levels (not bad at all but that means no free roam as usual, just pew pew)
It was obviously rushed. Beautiful looking game but lacked the content, humor and characteristic of the original.
R&C reboot has neither
Hopefully for the next game they have more time and budget dedicated to it and to be fair it was a forced tie in to the movie and had a pretty small team to developing the game too, haven't played it yet because I don't have a PS4 but it looks fine to me. (gameplay and presentation wise because I already know they fucked up the characters, story and even the music)
Maybe they'll do better next game. If nothing else at least they have a base to work with now for future PS4 games.
Also weirdly glitchy
The swingshot is clunky and sometimes the game would decide to kill me when jumping over ledges for some reason
Ratchet & Clank has always been short, with the exception of A Crack in Time.
And ACiT just had a big unnecessary map and filler mini-levels. Main story content isn't much different from the usual.
Ps5 will be out soon, it's too late
Reminder Nexus came out literally a few DAYS before PS4 launch, for PS3, and Insomniac is known to shit out games fast as fuck so I wouldn't write it off
Looks too cinematic. Too may qtes
Honestly, I wasn't crazy about ToD or QfB; CiT was alright, but still far weaker than the PS2 trilogy
>Ratchet & Clank has always been short
Wondering why people always forget to mention this. Replayed the original trilogy maybe a year ago and each one was right around that mark. Nostalgia is a hell of a thing, I guess.
That reboot also happened to launch at a discounted $35 so I'm not seeing the problem. Their biggest sin was the story and R&C initial relationship.
Into the Nexus was the same kind of deal though it was much shorter, and everything barring maybe A Crack in Time has been around the 24 hour range to 100% it.
I really just hope they nail the swinging. I've never minded the Arkham combat system so as long as the bosses are cool, there's a lot of suits, and the swinging isn't moon swinging it's all gravy.
>everything barring maybe A Crack in Time has been around the 24 hour range to 100% it.
I think you mean ACiT is the only one that takes that long
I meant ACiT is the only one that could possibly exceed that. Everything else is around the 16-20ish hour range to get absolutely everything and max out all guns barring maybe SAC but that's because those skill points are some of the worst in the series and there's no good places to grind weapons out at all.
Every mainline game takes between 10-12 hours to beat not including cutscenes, depending on your skill or if you really want to max out most if not all weapons, that is not short at all.
Short is QfB (3 hours max) or Nexus (5-6)
>secret agent clank final boss on challenge mode
Fuck that shit
Can't believe they screwed up the ratchet arenas so hard too
>Grinding out anything as Ratchet
>Especially the whip
>Any Qwark skill point
>Any rhythm game skill point, especially the casino one.
I will never forgive the developers.
The casino rhythm game went on for like 10 minutes and you needed a very specific score, right? The rhythm was also jumpy and inconsistent so you'd often miss for no reason
It's on par with the other titles while being $40 instead of $60 at launch. It has no bloat, no filler. I thought it was a fun re-telling of R&C 1.
>ToD is longer than ACiT
I don't fucking believe that
Casino rhythm game went on for about 10 minutes, yes, but it was rhythm game, then a battle using the Gadgebots, and then back to the rhythm game. If you messed up at all in either of the rhythm portions or in the Gadgebot portion (Like dying since you can only take 3 hits and there's a lot of waves) it required you to restart from the beginning and rewatch everything since it's all part of the rhythm game. The Qwark opera minigame is the one where you needed a specific score, if you got hit once at all it broke your combo which meant that was a complete restart and it goes on for like six minutes I think with tons of waves of enemies. The only time you're allowed to get hit is like once in the first handful of waves or right near the end provided you were within 10k points I think.

That song is embedded in my mind now.
The worst thing SAC did is the dam skill point though.
>20 waves of enemies.
>Half of the enemies have guns and come in groups of 3-6 per wave.
>The other half are incredibly quick moving enemies that rush the dam.
>Like two or three waves of stampedes which feel like they last an eternity.
>Enemies that have guns only need to get half way up to the dam before they shoot meaning from them spawning to them shooting is like three seconds.
>Qwark moves as quick as an asthmatic man who just ran a marathon and needs to catch his breath.
>Dam cannot take a single hit or the skill point is void.
>Entire thing takes like 10-15 minutes total.
