Thoughts?

I enjoyed Origins A LOT, and liked some bits of 2. Is this grind at all? If I play it on easy I can ignore the MMO sidequests?

You can ignore the MMO sidequests in most difficulties I believe. If you ask anyone who has played through the game, they'll say to not exhaust yourself with doing absolutely everything in every map, but to pick the things you are interested in now and leave the rest for a different playthrough.

I see. My favorite thing in Bioware games are the companions. Are they any good?

>I enjoyed Origins A LOT, and liked some bits of 2
You will like this too, the quests are pretty much the same as in the other two

They're all pretty decent.
Cassandra is a stand out.

No

Only Iron Bull, Vivienne and the female elf are bad. The others are as good as the companions in 1 and 2.

> Is this grind at all? If I play it on easy I can ignore the MMO sidequests?
It is about 80% grind, and no. you dont grind for power, you grind to be allowed to advance the story.
>companions. Are they any good?
Not really, some are bad, some are decent, none are really memorable.
>the quests are pretty much the same
except for all the gather X of Y. which there is a lot of. so basically no.

Sup Forums will say no, but I personally liked a lot of them. But, they are very divisive and you will probably end up hating a few to the point of not wanting them around. Compared to the other games, I feel like the companions and the interactions they have with each other and more... comfier and more light-hearted than in the previous games. DAI is much more high fantasy than DAO and DA2, and that might throw you off a bit.

>except for all the gather X of Y. which there is a lot of
So, like the other games.

The MMO sidequests is not even a negative thing in the case of DA:I. It is comfy™ to explore the zones and do the quests, leveling up and reading pieces of lore that come on your way.

People who whine about the MMO meme are the same people who are terribly offended that this character has a blatantly gay character.

The environments also look really good, combine that with your party members bantering with each other and it’s comfy indeed.
The gay character isn’t even bad, he is one of best characters.

I've never played any other Dragon Age games, but I thought this one was pretty good. The combat becomes more engaging in the hardest difficulty, but having two mages in your party is enough to handle 90% of the game.

The game has a surprisingly enriched story and tons of exposition, but I generally got bored of sitting through all the back and forth dialogue by the time you get to (one of) the desert(s). Ended up skipping through lines after it. Characters are good, I'd say. Not anything that would make them memorable, but they work well individually. Varric was my favorite. The game should've had more scenes like the tavern poker/card game. The villain is boring and so is the final fight.

Graphics were pretty good if you ask me, and the game had several diverse environments for you to play in - one of the game's greatest strengths. The gameplay didn't click with me at first, but I got used to it.

My biggest issues with the game were:
>How spongy every single enemy is.
>Traversing the land being slow as fuck, even with a horse
>Nightmare mode being practically unfair (that mission in which you got to defend the snowy fortress? FUCK.THAT.
>Not being able to waifu Leliana
>Most importantly, being limited to 8 (10 in late game) fucking potions.

How the fuck am I suppose to explore if I have to warp back to a camp whenever I run out of healing items? Coupled with the ridiculous enemy health bars, that's a horrible gameplay mechanic that serves no purpose other than artificially cap your exploring capabilities, padding to the game length.

The Dragon boss fights are another highlight, since they require actual strategy, micromanaging your parties positions at all times and most importantly - fucking preparing before the fight.

The game's supposed SJW undertones flew way above my head, and I've played the game for at least 3 times by now. Dorian was okay.

I liked them all,Varric is kinda overshadowed by the new ones,Sera's voice took a while to get used to and Viviene is a bitch, but you get why she is one.Dorian and Cassandra really stand out.

>I enjoyed Origins A LOT

Dorian and Cassandra are great.

Blackwall and Solas are nice.

The rest is the rest.

Sera is pure shit

>implying most of the images posted don't come from tumblr, just with a changed file name

This thread makes me want to get the DLC and replay the game. Is the DLC good?

>>Not being able to waifu Leliana

What the hell she's back? I could bang her in Origins but not here?

thanks for your opinion user

Dragon Age Origins is considered one of the best RPGs of all time so I dunno what are you on

trash just like you

you'll probablby like it

No. No they don't.
Only someone from Tumblr would believe that.

Jaws of Hakkon is pretty great, lots of things to do, absolutely beautiful map and some nice lore reveals as well. If you like Harding, she gets more '' screentime '' here.

Descent is pretty weird, I didn't like it much, but if you like to battle hordes of demons underground, you'll enjoy it.

Trespasser is the end game for Inquisition, and wraps up the story. It takes place like a year or two after the defeat of Corypheus and shit starts happening when you are called in to the Winter Palace to discuss the future of Inquisition. This DLC is all story, no grind, and very linear. It's also a direct teaser on what's to come in DA4 and sets up the story for it (at least that is assumed).

You can import choices to Inquisition and have Morrigan show up with your character from 1’s kid and Hawke will show up too

I can get all DLC pretty damn cheap so fuck it. What class do you recommend I should I roll? Went mage last time and I want to play on the highest difficulty

Tumblr isn't some boogie man coming to rape your buttcheeks and then forcing you to use xe/xir pronouns. You can unclench now.

Well I played Origins and II on PS3 and I'm going to play Inquisition on PS4 so I think that ship has sailed, but it's a nice touch

So did I, you can go to the site Dragon Age Keep and recreate your choices for Inquisition.

cassandra is best girl

There is no specific class that doesn't work in the highest difficulty, but you'll probably have the easiest time not dying if you play a Warrior with Champion spec, or Mage with Knight Enchanter spec. But if tanking and slowly killing things isn't for you, then maybe Rogue (Bow) with Artificer spec, but to get it working correctly will require the right items/schematics, but the payoff is insane damage.

Indeed, I liked that they took a NPC from 2 and made her a fully fledged companion

Will probably roll tank warrior then and wear some neat heavy armor instead of the flimsy robes my mage wore

yeah, it was nice that we saw a more fleshed out cullen affected by what happened in origins as well
it's a shame the quests were such shit because the companions were pretty good

Cullen is in Origins? What the hell I don’t remember that

>If I play it on easy I can ignore the MMO sidequests?

Might as well not even play the game then, MMO sidequests are like, 85% of the playtime.

he's one of the templars in the circle tower, he gets tortured by the mages during the uprising or whatever you wanna call it

you can also chat with him a bit during the mage origin, can flirt with him if you're a girl
