Around what graphics card level would a PS5 be?

If it comes out in 2020 it will probably be more powerful than anything we have now.
Nothing close to the 1080.
1050ti but made by AMD
>If it comes out in 2020 it will probably be more powerful than anything we have now.
Yes, because the PS5 will surely have a 1080 Ti or Titan equivalent card when the PS4 has a gpu worst than a 1050.
~Nvidia GT 1030
Worse than the Xbox 2
Probably a 2nd gen Vega from the next few years on the 10nm node
1060 6GB
Whatever is powerful enough to run 4k 45-60fps at ultra graphics. Most likely 1080ti or 1170 or 1180.
Are 9x0-s essentially useless now? Or simply they're stronger than a "Pro" system, but not future-proof for the next console generation?
lmaooo maybe if they actually get 1080p60 right first
>4K
>60FPS
>console
There would be no point to next gen if it's just slightly more powerful current gen. I imagine the next console gen would be where PC currently is in terms of specs, while PC would be one gen ahead and doing 8K30-60fps.
Just get a 1060 if you want to upgrade right this minute.
PC doesn't have gens, you drooling retard.
Didn't expect Sup Forums to be this fucking tech illiterate.
Xbox one X is arleady equivalent or faster than a GTX 1060 6GB and ps4pro is somewhere between a 1050ti and a 1060 3GB.
Next gen consoles will at least double that performance, so at least 1080ti territory. Probably more depending on how far in the future next gen consoles are.
Does it physically hurt being this retarded?
>PC doesn't have gens
>Sandy Bridge
>Haswell
>Skylake
>Kaby Lake
>Coffee Lake
>Phenom
>FX
>Zen
>GTX 5xx
>GTX 6xx
>GTX 7xx
>GTX 9xx
>GTX 10xx
lmao ok
>so at least 1080ti territory.
There's a huge difference here, and you know it.
>Xbox one X is arleady equivalent or faster than a GTX 1060 6GB
>Next gen consoles will at least double that performance, so at least 1080ti territory.
They'll be 1070ti/1080 at most.
why does every manufacturer nowadays insist on making their GPUs look like toys instead of just building them as sturdily and effectively as possible
is the LED-lit racing stripe -market really that big
>Didn't expect Sup Forums to be this fucking tech illiterate.
The irony here is fucking astounding. Fucking astounding.
Nice bait, take a (You)
It sells. Gamers are children.
>PS5 rolls around
>PC still doesn't get Yakuza, Project Diva, Persona 5, or VC4
>next gen comes out
>1080 is so obsolete it isnt funny
>pc wins again
probably and they'll continue to sell ps4 for $100
Yes, but to be honest, modern GPUs still look better than old ones.
Remember the obligatory CG scantily clad girl stickers?
>persona 5
>good
I want reddit to leave
I would expect it to be similar to an RX Vega 64 but with more VRAM as they'll probably be using GDDR6 instead of HBM. That might sound too good to be true but keep in mind the PS5 won't be around until at least 2020. Vega 64 isn't even the fastest card out today, 3 years from now it's gonna be 7970 tier and even shit like Volta will be old news.
>Most likely 1080ti or 1170 or 1180.
They're going to use AMD again, Nvidia still doesn't have an x86 license.
>so obsolete it isnt funny
Hasn't happened in 20 years, Nvidia has no incentive to innovate that much over a single generation
>Nvidia has no incentive to innovate that much over a single generation
We'll see, the 1080Ti proved to be a significant jump over the 980Ti despite the fact that AMD didn't have any products as fast as even the regular 1080 when they released it.
At what point do they just stop pretending they are consoles and just call them proprietary PC's with little to no modding capabilities?
Maybe AMD will finally force them to just like Ryzen forced Intel to step up their game
What GPU level is the Nintendo Switch?
Integrated CPU graphics
PC has gens, you drooling retard. If anything it's also bound to console generations since the only thing pushing graphics forward these days on PC are poorly optimized console ports.
I believe companies are gonna start pushing the 8k meme soon, so consoles will be underpowered, i wish they settled at 1080p. Anyways they will underpowered for the 8k and pc will also push the 8k meme without any significant jump in graphics
>overall 15% boost in framerates
>significant
Back in the day "significant" meant 40%-60% improvement.
>last gen consoles come out
>pc leaves them in the dust within 2 or 3 years
>this gen comes out
>already outdated shit hardware at release
>next gen
gee i wonder whats gonna happen
>15% boost in framerates
don't be a fucking retard
yeah, it's a shame that PC gamers just up and accepted the shit they're given these days. Worse than consolefags desu. youtube.com
Isn't this what google is for?
PC hardware generations are not directly comparable to console hardware gens, specially since the former are inherently backwards compatible.
>poorly optimized console ports
More like poorly optimized games in general, most big publisher games still struggle to hold a steady framerate on their target hardware
>the hardware is so outdated lmoa
sure, what are some PC games that look better than uncharted 4 or horizon zero dawn? They must be out there.
OH WOW IT'S ONLY 15% FASTER
xbonex is faster than a 4 year old high end gaming PC (290x, 780ti or original Titan)
When next gen consoles launch for christmas 2020, a TitanX/1080ti will be 4 years old.
Now please try coming up with some actual arguments before replying
4k 144hz will be the new "meme" from 2018 onwards
dont ask me i dont play shit games
>two cherrypicked examples
I see you don't know what "overall" means.
>what are some PC games that look better than uncharted 4 or horizon zero dawn
Both of those games look really good for the hardware they run on but there are better looking games on PC if you've got the hardware. It runs at 60fps like this by the way on my PC.
>xbonex is faster than a 4 year old high end gaming
there are people out there who believe this
>cherry picked
you're retarded
...
this really doesn't look better than uncharted 4 or horizon. Come back when you have an example of subsurface scattering in a PC game.
Please post evidence of your claims. Thanks.
What CPU will the PS5 have? Will my R5 1600 @ 3.9ghz still outperform it?
Crysis series.
What do I win?
My guess
>2019 release date
>8tflop GPU
>16gb ram
>Ryzen CPU
>2TB HDD
>Still unable to reach native 4K in most games - e.g. more checkerboard rendering
I'm not sure which GPU would be equivalent. Xbox One X is basically a 1070 so maybe a 1080?
How are they going to push that shit to people while it's so damn expensive? I just don't understand these industry trends sometimes
no Crysis game have SSS.
It's cute that you post a screenshot from the apartment chapter where there is no action and the environments are tiny and not interactive at all.
wow, practically photo-realistic
GCN 4.0 @ 6Terfalops = RX 580
RX 580 > 290x, 780ti and original Titan
I don't think you realize the power gap between a 780ti and a 1080ti
And by 2020 PC will have GPUs that are far superior. We go through this every generation.
and it still looks better than any PC exclusive from the past 7 years.
>tfw the PS5 starts the trend of "build your own console. Customize your gaming experience" and we end up with shittier PCs you but in parts
the only GTX 900 series cards that are useful for current gaming are 970 and 980. But if you're gunna pay the price for them you might as well get a 10% boost and get the 1060 or 1080 base cards for the same price.
>There would be no point to next gen if it's just slightly more powerful current gen
PS3 and 360 to PS4 and xbone
Take the release year minus two years and take the middle paced gpu from that year. It has about that graphics. So whatever new middle tiered gpu comes out next year, the consoles will use that in 2020
...
>better than any PC exclusive from the past 7 years
and worse than most PC multiplatforms from the last 3 years.
Don't get me wrong, I think Uncharted 4 looks great for what it's running on but that's about it.
>tfw
embarrassing.
makes sense desu, 8tflops is probably all we're gonna get.
>PS5
>Not PS9
youtu.be
1070ti or vega 56
>fps in ARMA 3 with a 1080ti: 7
>fps in uncharted 4 with a literal laptop integrated gpu: 30
your point?
this really does look better than any pc game to date. kinda sad, nobody makes high end PC games any more. It's just console ports where the difference between "medium (console settings)" and "ultra" is no quality difference but 40 less frames per second.
I don't think you realise that GPUs become 45% faster every 18 months and this is true for consoles as well as PC.
It will have to have the following to not look like a fucking joke if it will come out in late 2020 or later:
>4k gameplay at 144 HZ
>8k gameplay at 60 HZ
>local split screen-, dual screen gaming at 4k 60HZ
>livestreaming your gameplay to Twitch/YouTube/etc at 4k 60HZ
>full BC all the way to PS1 with the PS Store offering them
>decent upscaling for the older titles
>no power brick
>wireless charging solution for the DS5 without accessories
Ah, who am I kidding? Sony will disappoint.
>this really does look better than any pc game to date
It really doesn't, and I own every Uncharted game and like the series.
fps in uncharted 4 with a literal 1080ti: 30
If 60 FPS isn't the standard then what's the point.
even metro 2033 from 2010 looks better than that. I'm really not sure what you're selling here, but I have no interest in buying a new Nvidia GPU.
People aren't tired of movies despite most of them being shit, so that isn't changing anytime soon.
>4k gameplay at 144 HZ
>8k gameplay at 60 HZ
It's not going to have either of those things. Next-gen we'll have most games running at native 4K30, something the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X haven't been able to achieve consistently. They're never going to target 144fps.
we aren't getting 60fps in most games any more because we aren't using CRTs any more. Thank the film industry for that.
>tfw that game looks great but i can't deal with the shitty sjw story and characters so i didn't even bother pirating it
>Next gen consoles will at least double that performance, so at least 1080ti territory. Probably more depending on how far in the future next gen consoles are.
Won't mean shit if they hamper them with a massive CPU bottleneck like the current consoles have.
60fps won't be the standard because devs will always sacrifice performance for visuals. If next gen were 10 petaflops we'd still see mostly 30fps games.
Are new consoles faster than my i7 6700k, 1070, make me spite upgrade i fucking dare you.
cpu wise they aren't even comparable to an old ass AMD FX8350, gpu wise they're probably around an AMD 460
Witcher 3 on max settings 60 fps, not PC exclusive but looks much better and isn't capped at 30 fps.
yes.
>even metro 2033 from 2010 looks better than that
Imagine actually believing this. Metro also runs way worse.
current consoles are running on ancient laptop architecture that was bad even when it was new.
next gen will run on Zen, which is currently demolisihing Intel's mobile chips because of how power efficient it is.
