who cares about ratings

sounds like people who don't follow bandwagons just to be contrarian about a game people are pretty mellow about

Oh c'mon. I'm butthurt about the disappointment too, but at least I can still be objective about it. The game we got was still good, just not great. 7/10 for me.

It was an enjoyable game. Nothing groundbreaking. 5.1/10

but they put so much graphix in the game you have to at least give it a 7 just for that

>there are people on Sup Forums RIGHT NOW

I'd say a 5 is fair though I don't know anything about the dlc. The combat was lackluster, it was a buggy mess (though only a few times were they game breaking) and the story had left so much just either with no connections to the rest of the game or just left it unfinished.

Put that .1 down and get on the ground

NOW

>there are people on Sup Forums
>RIGHT NOW
>that think graphics should be used to determine a game's quality

6/10 is reasonable. The game looks nice graphically and art wise, the main cast interaction is good, the combat while incredibly easy isn't broken, side quest are ok, and the story is at least functional. Enemy design is good as well and all the minigames are interesting for world building. It's just a game that missed out on it's potential

>the story had left so much just either with no connections to the rest of the game or just left it unfinished.
How so?

>minigames are interesting for woldbuilding
You mean the pinball machine shit? I don't remember any worldbuilding there.

It was fun, played over 100 hours of it.
Shit writing though.

minigames is the wrong word, I mean more like the little things it does to build the world. Fishing, Cooking, Camping, Photos, Shit like that

>combat [...] isn't broken

That's debatable, what with the worst camera I've ever seen in an action based game, horrendous AI, potion spamming breaking any semblance of challenge and more

Post games better than FFXV

I'll start

youtube.com/watch?v=RbTqe0-iB0A

7/10. It's a shame it wasn't a more focused production, but I'd be willing to let Tabata direct another mainline entry if only to see what he'd do with a proper budget and a clean production slate.
I enjoyed the combat a lot more than your average ARPG, especially after unlocking the full "Combat" tree.
>tfw it's more than I can take

>The empire man who became a malfested or something, they introduced him and did nothing with him until the end where they brought him back in.
>Cor just disappeared and never showed back up.
>Luna's brother got dropped after the first confrontation until towards the end
>Prompto being a cyborg or something though I may of just missed that one

I still enjoyed the camping, food, and magic crafting enhancements, and I really like the soundtrack and art style. I also think I enjoyed Noctis's fighting style more than most people, even if the combat overall was drab. I think those factors are what earn the extra two points for me.

>the combat while incredibly easy isn't broken
I don't know why, but the combat in Comrades feels more responsive than the combat in the base game despite being pretty much the same thing barring weapon movesets. If there actually is a difference and I'm not just crazy, I hope they upgrade the base game to match at some point.

>Prompto being a cyborg or something though I may of just missed that one
It's regulated to his DLC and the Assassin's Creed festival. What a joke.

Prompto is actually a Rei clone. They were gonna turn him into a cyborg when he was older but some dude kidnapped him from the lab.

Any game that requires you to watch a tie in movie to understand parts of the main plot deserves to get it's rating cut. FFX5 is still a good game, but if you tax it according to that it should be in the 4/10 to 6/10 range

I mean it was a little better than 12 which was a 4/10 sp I guess 15 being 5/10 sounds fair.

The things this game did good it did great but I just cant excuse stuff like the leviathan fight and getting a gameover cause the cars wings come out in auto drive.

The only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was Pitioss Dungeon and, by extension, the flying Regalia. Sucks that I had my first listen of Kid A while I was playing through Pitioss so now everytime I listen to it I think of that god awful shithole

Pitioss was genuinely one of the few good things about this game though. What are you on?

I bought the game for the fighting and magic and monsters and shit. It's an RPG, not a fucking platformer

>>worst camera
really? I was surprised how well it responded to me teleporting all over the place. Maybe I never got close to any cliffs or anything but I thought it was good enough
>>horrendous AI
Explain? I thought the enemies were at least semi smart and my team functioned fine
>>potions ruining the challenge
>FFXV
>Challenge
They didn't compensate for the new combat with the old inventory system, I agree it's pretty dumb

EAT YOUR FUCKING VEGETABLES

PiTioSs Dungeon

Gilgamesh's design alone basically made this a 10/10 for me

You're baiting, right? They took a character known for being a goofball warrior with like a half-dozen arms and they made him a fucking edgelord with only ONE arm. I already wasn't interested in the DLC where you play as worst boy, but after seeing this shit, I knew I was right more than ever before. 10/10 design for any other character maybe, but a 1/10 design for Gilgamesh.

It's fucking awful though?

I do. I give it about a 7.5. Especially if you include comrades.

How could you possibly consider anyone but gladio or ignis best with the other being second.

I would agree if the hunts were better and dungeons more varied with a story not stripped it could went from 7 to a 9 easy

I swear to fucking god I died more times to the wings on the car exploding than anything else

Everyone agrees Ignis>Gladiolus>Prompto right?

DLC would've been better if the bonus fight was against 6-armed Gilgamesh instead of Cor. But then that kind of thing would probably be better off in the main game instead. Or Comrades, since that seems to be getting more interesting boss fights if Bahamut is any indication.

Actually including him the world's lore was a pretty good change of pace IMO after Gilgamesh being the same exact character for every game besides IX and XI also him and Cor being the only bosses so far that pose a challenge in the game also helps.

Honestly flip gladio and ignis. I'm a gymrat and I like reading so I relate to him more than some dude that likes to cook.

I'd give it a 7 or 8. It was disappointing but still enjoyable and better than the last few FF games.

12 is a 10/10 easy

There is nothing wrong with XV Gilgamesh's design besides not being the wacky Gilgamesh that normally shows up.

Prompto > Ignis >Gladioulus

Unfortautely, Prompto is the only character with any real personality or character development:

>Ignis' character arc happens off-screen during the 10 year time skip (looks like the DLC will do him some favors though)
>Gladio is just the same character

Every game has people on Sup Forums that think it deserves better than a 5/10.

it's literally the best FF tho
>but all the stupid and contrived bullshit and the game doesn't even seem like it was finished
>so it's a final fantasy game?
>oh
that people bash it so hard just show how young there are
plenty final fantasy games people couldn't make heads or tails of for a long ass time

Did you just forget about chapter 10 where Gladio and Ignis both start acting like shitheads for no reason? Gladio just starts picking on Noctis for no fucking reason and never apologizes, not even once, and Ignis insists on pressing forward into an extremely dangerous swamp, despite being a total hindrance. Just because a person's blind doesn't necessarily mean that they've gotta be stupid, too.

It' just boring and looks like it should be in some WRPG, not FF.

Also:
>Gilgamesh in XIV ended up being a better character than the majority found in XV

How did that even happen?

Prompto>Ignis>Gladio
Prompto's the hypeman and I connect most closely with him than the other characters, Ignis is kinda the father of the group and a god damn trooper, but Gladio's just kind of a dick.

I really liked Okabe's Battle on the Big Bridge remix even though it fits Nier better, but i'm guessing that's what the guest composer gimmick is for them to compose in their style.

I really liked it for one playthrough. Playing it again is rather boring though because I did literally every side quest (besides the timed ones or the absolute final boss) the first time.

>Did you just forget about chapter 10
I'm pretty sure most people try to forget about chapter 10.

His design is simple but satisfying imo. Also He's not that out of place. That design could easily be put in other FF.

It's an alright game that got put through development hell and then rushed to completion.

Still the best version.
youtube.com/watch?v=AxchyP5HPKo

I had no attachment to the Sasuke version of what the game was supposed to be so i had no baggage.
It's a solid 7/10 in the end, if i played with the offroad car and the multiple hunts at the same time like the updates did it would jump to an 8.

You seem to have posted the wrong link. Here's the best version.

Samurai Pirate Gilgamesh is the best boy

>there are people on Sup Forums still discussing this game
lmao, this game is a year old and people are STILL bitching about it.

Assuming 5/10 is a baseline "it works" and 4 or below implies a lack of function

I would say FFXV is a solid 7

>if only to see what he'd do with a proper budget and a clean production slate.
Isn't that what Type-0 was
And The 3rd Birthday

Tabata can only produce average games.

>Type-0
>The 3rd Birthday
>Average

Fuck no.

>An entire dungeon focused on platforming in a non platforming game
Pitioss pissed me off because the dev team clearly spent 10x more effort on an optional dungeon than they did on all of the main dungeons combined.

>average
Both of those are terrible

>The 3rd Birthday
He made that? That's arguably one of the best shooters on the psp, i'd put right up in there with Logan's Shadow.

If you don't let T3B's terrible story color your impression, the game itself is simply average.

Enjoyable in my opinion, but average nonetheless.

Type-0 is the epitome of an average game. None of it is necessarily bad, but I can't say any of it was good either.
Except that theme

Are you kidding me? I love combat that plays itself, streamlined RPG elements, a giant open empty fucking world, even the car driving itself etc. Because I'm a fucking retard.

4/10. Not being broken and having nice production values counts for a fair bit of a score, but not even the dialogue or story is decent.
