is the reason they're being so tight lipped about it because its going to be huge and they don't want to spoil half the content like with Super Mario Odyssey?

I doubt it's something HUGE but I do think it has some kind of surprise element about it and is bigger than people think
They're adding a completely new element that interacts with the world (fire, wind, electricity, etc). It would spoil the DLC if it got out, but I'll give you a hint: it can be used to raise durability temporarily.
odyssey had shown all the main kingdoms except bowser's before release, I'd hardly call that tight-lipped
>they don't want to spoil half the content like with Super Mario Odyssey?
Don't you know Nintendo by now?
They always release tidbits of info that gets everyone interested, then 3 weeks before release they release a Nintendo Direct spoiling the entire game. Latest example: XC2
And a manuverabilty rune.
not true, they only showed half of them at most
>3 weeks before release they release a Nintendo Direct spoiling the entire game. Latest example: XC2
did I miss something?
There waiting for xenoblade 2 to release then probably gonna start showing information about it.
It better have at least one fucking new enemy type. I was so underwhelmed with the enemy variety that my standards have dropped to that level, I would be excited over one new enemy.
what, a self propelled shield surfing rune? Revali's gale and the paraglider are already really good for maneuverability
Is there even a release date?
If this supposedly takes place after Ganon is defeated, they'd have to figure out a way to explain enemy respawning since the Blood Moon isn't a thing anymore, right?
I hope the Yiga are the main antagonists, but from the end game dialogue it sounds like the Divine Beasts might be going haywire again.
It interacts with the new element, similar to cryo and magnesis.
it's only close if you include the two boss arena kingdoms and the two that just held bonus levels, otherwise it's 9 shown to 3 hidden
they didn't show 9
the eshop says 31st of december, but everywhere else just says 'holiday 2017'.
>bonneton
>fossil falls
>tostarena
>steam gardens
>forgotten isle
>new donk city
>bubblaine
>shiveria
>mt. volbono
this is without me including lake lamode which admittedly only got like a second in the e3 trailer
I'm calling it: there'll be a new villain as a post-game, that villain will be Zant. The Master Kohga "fight" you did earlier in the game was really a teaser at him returning, potentially even him in a sloppy disguise. He'll take over the divine beasts again as well as awaken a new beast hidden in the faron jungle
they didn't really show anything from forgotten isle or shiveria either
The only thing I'm wishing for is that it gives you enough Spirit Orbs to fill both your Hearts and Stamina, for my autism's sake
It would be cool if it was just an expansion that just reused assets a la Majora's Mask.
I hope so because that really took a lot of the fun out of the game for me, and I'm not watching the trailers for the next Mario because of it. Pretty fucking scummy that they did that if you ask me, and it doesn't help that the game also got leaked.
Figures it'd be the absolute limit of "holiday season" so they can pretend it wasn't delayed, and this second pack better be fucking choice because the first one sucked.
The new beast is beside the coastal village, it's a whale. You can also find Link's lobster shirt from WW as an unlockable. There's one other thing from WW you can get.
This. Those empty spots where three hearts should be are incredibly aggravating.
they didn't spoil the town of kindly russian ball seals but it was still shown, same as the island
Something like this would make the most sense actually. That corner was pretty underused story-wise because the Zora town was on the middle right of the map.
>Jabu Jabu
>Wind Egg Fish
Choose one and only one
The Wind Fish is probably one of the fallen leviathans so I'm gonna go with Jabu Jabu.
The biggest problem for me is that a lot of the major stages were considerably smaller like Shiveria and Lake Lamode which each had 50 purple coins each and were pretty damn small. Along with this is the fact that Lost Isle is barely even a level. Same thing with Bonneton and Fossil Falls but they were early on so they're more understandable.
meant to quote
What makes you think the three Leviathans aren't respectively Wind Fish, Jabu Jabu and that other flying whale from SS?
Wasn't Phantom Hourglass King a whale too?
Point. The flattened head on the one in Eldin looks similar to the whale in SS (which I think was even called a Leviathan).
>is the reason they're being so tight lipped about it because its going to be huge and they don't want to spoil half the content like with Super Mario Odyssey?
Nope
Consider the following:
>DLC is titled Champion's Ballad
>Champion BotW Amiibos released November 10th
>Nintendo has had at least one high profile game or release for Switch every month since launch until now
Nintendo planned to sort of recycle BotW in a sense by releasing their big DLC in the middle of the big November holiday gaming release peak. The problem I suspect is that they're stuck with big time development troubles. They promised an equal experience for Wii U owners and I bet they backed themselves into a corner with something the Wii U is struggling with.
None of the skeletons are found anywhere near Zora's domain. Also, is Jabujabu even a whale?
>VGAs are coming up
>Zelda is nominated
>Shit is rigged as fuck and will win
>As a part of the victory, they'll show the final trailer for the DLC, with the release date.
How does no one else see this coming?
Because that's extremely unlikely and you're insane if you think BotW is gonna win more than best Open World game. PUBG getting a GOTY nomination shows us that if anybody has been "rigged" for victory, it's them.
The VGAs are all about the Critic's awards for games they've reviewed and seen impact the community. If a game not even out of it's beta wins this award the entire brand gets completely tarnished.
You could be right, but seeing as the awards are being given out on December 7th, it's right after Xenoblade comes out (which has a much stronger advertising campaign than any of the previous incarnations of the series so far), so they can focus the rest of the month on BotW DLC.
Speaking of ballads, name one great song made originally for BoTW. I hate when a game is all just references towards other games.
>If a game not even out of it's beta wins this award the entire brand gets completely tarnished.
Here's the thing user: A game not even out of it's beta got nominated. The fact that the nomination happened at all tarnished the brand already.
>Tarrey Town
>Death Mountain
>Shrine Theme
>Horse riding theme
PUBG Is nominated for GOTY award. There's no way that isn't winning.
My expectations for this are already impossible to meet.
I really like Korok Forest (Day)
So is the Master mode from the 1st dlc worthwhile? Are the bosses harder in any way?
Everything is harder, its a fucking nightmare. I got Lynels on the Great Plateau at the start of the game.
Calamity ganon is a bitch in master mode unless you can get perfect party every time. Just don't upgrade armor past 2 or it ruins the game.
The Parasailing Minigame music on Eventide island, its the most Zelda-y song in the game
This reminds me of both the Pokemon bike theme and Windfall Island.
Dunno if you're aware or if you care about KH3 but Nomura stated he planned on spoiling all worlds before release.
the beginning reminds me of Kokiri forest
This, PC fags will vote for it because it's the only 'game' they have on the ballot. The jury will be rigged as fuck and vote for PUBG because then they can hold a 'sale' in order to push more copies on Steam.
Almost all the fights against the Divine Beasts were great. Especially the Ruto one where you could imagine a huge army of Rutos attacking it while dodging an onslaught of lasers.
Not a great song persay. but when you enter the Divine Beasts. The Soundrack for the first segement has an ominous beeping that you can barely make out. The beeping is mores code for SOS.
Hello Sup Forums
I just recently bought a switch and have been playing this for a couple of days now, I'm about to go for my 2nd divine beast. The game is a 9/10 so far (enemy variety pls) and I'm wondering what comes with the DLCs? Are they worth purchasing to add more replay value to the game? I'd like to play it for a long time
Everyone should keep their expectations as low as possible. I honestly don't care for the "story" so fleshing out the champions really doesn't interest me. I just want a dungeon, a new enemy, and a new boss. Literally the bare minimum of expectations because Nintendo has yet to show any effort whatsoever in the last DLC's.
>i'm wondering what comes with the DLCs?
QUALITY OF LIFE STUFF! ARMORS! QUESTS! POST GAME MATERIAL! HARD MODE THAT WILL RAPE YOUR UNBORN CHILD IF YOU TREAT IT LIKE THE NORMAL GAME!
Holy shit this took me back to those insane 3 straight weeks of playing botw nonstop. I love this fucking game.
Anyone know what song plays when you do the Gut Check challenge?
It has some kind of sax in it.
Can you activate Master Mode in end game or do you have to do it from the start of the game?
I'm curious if the champions are going to be revived somehow.
He's spouting nonsense.
Apparently Mythra's reveal (which is likely only a quarter of the way into the game) and Rex dieing (at the beginning) are the whole game's spoilers.
Well the trailer for the second DLC hints heavily at story continuation and Champion backstories, so it's not like there isn't any basis for expecting such.
Master is a separate file altogether and must be started from the very beginning
I'm about to start hard mode, anything I should I know more than avoiding every enemy early on until I get good weapons?
And what's this about a Lyenel on the great plate?
You'll find out soon enough. Also floating platforms have great items for the early game, try shooting them down or finding ways to glide to them when you can
My autism doesn't let me ransack chests unless it has permanent items. I do have a fuckton of amiibos though.
>we won't be getting more purah
Sadness covers me like a blanket

BoTW won't be my OST of the year, but this song is easily at the top of my list as song of the year. ESPECIALLY the night version.
