Is this game worth it?
I listened to this and I'm debating now.
Is this game worth it?
I hope you get an answer as I am debating the same. Warriors can be a good mindless game to play.
So you like Fire Emblem? Do you like Warrior games? If you said yes to both, you'll probably like Fire Emblem Warriors because it's a warriors game with a fuckton of Fire Emblem mechanics injected into it.
yes its fun, like a bigger better hyrule warriors, ger it
I'm 90 hours deep, better than hyrule warriors, heaps of content and a fun grind. Only downside is some of the dlc characters are already in the game and there's a lot of cloned movesets
OP here,
My problem is that I slightly hinder away from the Fates cast and I tend to like myself some good FE7 and want to play a character like Lyn.
Is she good in the game?
Well, all the Fate royals are in the game so you're going to have to deal with that. But Corrin is much better as just a supporting character.
As for Lyn. The bad news is she's post game and you need to beat her map to unlock her. The good news is if you give her Astra she becomes one of the best characters in the game. Rape on Wheels Also, in true Tecmo fashion, she's got major jiggle. Something to take a grain of if you like to sexualize 15/16 year olds.
>tfw trying to grind for silver materials
Also where the fuck do you get Brave weapons from?
You have to get one initially as a history mode reward before they start dropping. Same with abilities like topsy-turvy.
>Divining + Max Awakening + Blessing = PROFIT
Need to unlock them in history mode.
The fact that you even brought that up means you need to leave.
> brave axes unlock map restricted to axe users
At least Camilla has a decent spammable aoe attack.
>Needs to leave
>Implying it's not awesome
You need to go back.
Says the one passing out trigger warnings.
>Not wanting trigger discipline in all your games.
Get a load of the casual.
>really like having Musou games portably
>Koei released Switch versions of WO3U, DW8E, and Spirit of Sanada
>Japan-only even though all 3 have already been localized on other platforms
>the weapon triangle and promotion are super important guys!
is the Season Pass worth it, Lucina is clearly best Awakening girl so the outfit is nice but how much content is actually being added aside from that?
Actually the weapon triangle is super important if you don't want to spend 5 minutes on one portrait enemy and be immediately buttfucked by them if they successfully get an attack off at you.
9 new characters, new costumes, 3 new history maps.
Also there was a free update that put out a new map, costumes and skill that allows you to strip people.
Also,
>don't promote a character
>they quickly become a useless twat because their stats are only half of what they should be
Actually, your state growths and levels are fixed in Warriors so you want to promote right away since it won't mean you lose any stats.
The dress looks like garbage in motion. Better than Zelda's dresses in HW but still not fluid enough to look right.
They better keep update with more shits. I want more hero thats aren't swordfag.
im sure theyll add plenty more fan favorites from Fates
>it's a bows only episode
the dlc is literally just characters from the 3 games that are already in the base game
If you like Musous or FE, sure. But music should not be the primary reason to get it.

The biggest complaint is clones like Elise and Leo playing exactly the same, or Takumi and Sakura, or Marth and Celica, every peg knight so on, and the roster in general. Even if we were to narrow down on the three they did, the selections were weak as fuck.
>liking musou games
I don't get the appeal. It's literally you mashing the same button against 1000 retarded enemies who never fights back.
But somehow they've made like 20 Musou titles over the years.
Also if the music doesn't do it for you. You have to actually play the game. I really didn't like the Road Taken Warriors remix because it really ruined the comfy vibe of the original when listening to the soundtrack. But when you hear it used in game, it just fits perfectly.
Because PvP is for fagets who will never win.
I've unironically enjoyed most Musou games since I first played DW4 on a PS2 demo disc
I just wish Koei didn't abandon English dubs, the hammy English acting is part of what made them feel like B-list kung fu movies
Yeah the clones really suck.
I'm afraid the dlc characters won't change that either. I can see Minerva being a clone of Camilla, Owain being a clobe of Ryoma etc.
I enyoyed it, the game gets much easier and fun when you get astra and luna on your characters.
I got S rank on all maps. Played about 85 hours. On performance mode. Jap voices.
Now I'm wating for updates.
>In Sm4sh Lucina is a clone of Marth
>In Warriors there's a clone problem
>Takumi also uses replicate during his special attacks like with Conquest's endgame
Like pottery
>Lissa uses an axe
Best Warriors gameplay hands down.
The Fire Emblem elements do nothing but help the gameplay tremendously.
The characters movesets are all awesome. There isn't one character in the roster that isn't fun as fuck to play.
Although people will tell you its instant shit because muh roster.
best Warriors gameplay is clearly DW8XL
She had major jiggle in her promoted crit animation in FE7 too.
It's a lot of fun and about the only complaint with it anyone has is that you may not be a fan of the cast.
If you can get onboard with the cast then everything about it is great fun. The interactions between the characters is perfect, the plot is a standard (stupid) musou affair, and the in game tactics are a huge step above the norm, it's a huge upgrade over HW in that respect.
I brought it, the dress looks great on her.
>My local Best Buy has the special edition
Is it worth it?
Special/Collector's editions are never worth it.
not him but I like my P5 and Yakuza Special Editions, I don't usually go for them though
Setting objectives for the characters you aren't controlling is something that Warriors games cry for, and the weapon triangle adds a lot of purpose to it, so you can't just always drag your party members to the closest target and get guaranteed victories. It's fitting that a strategy game series added the necessary strategic elements to give this Warriors a foot up on just about all the others in the gameplay department. Of course, if you always hated the general gameplay style, your mind probably won't be changed anyway.
I dunno man Xenoblade's is looking really nice.
Are archers and mages sub-par in this game, or do I just need to get gud?
Using Takumi is painful.
>Using Takumi is painful
What the fuck. He's one of my favorite characters to play as, dude slaughters waves of enemies faster than any other character I've tried and his promotion can has three super meters so he can crank out killing blows like candy.
Archers feel better as support fodder for Pair-Up. ZR+Y when its ready and say goodbye to any and all flying units. Sakura's the best archer to keep in your pocket so you can whip her out for a quick heal on your allies too.
The devs must've been cackling when they made the tomes/stones only map against an army of mages and swordsmen.
Archers and mages are good at AoE; an archer's C5 (YYYYX) has good AoE and gives you time to C1 charge for a weak point gauge / Weapon Triangle Advantage (WTA) weak point gauge, while C6 slaughters anything around you.
I really only like the mage's C5, for AoE and weak point breaking. Robin's C6 the only exception. Mages, once you charge up their meter, can open up a weak point gauge.
While they lack WTA innately, they do have it, and counter what they mean to: fliers and low Res (Knights, Manaketes, Outrealm Fiends), and can fare decently against everything else 1v1.
I'm considering getting it too even though I don't know much about FE and just want to beat people up, but I could get Zelda at the same price so I'm not sure.
do Nintendo games really never drop in price?
I've sunk about 40 hours into the game so far and the roster is definitely my biggest complaint.
I'm fine with all the Awakening characters but we didn't need all the Fates royals. Ryoma, Xander, Camilla, and Takumi would have been fine. There are also some missing classes so far.
We also have some missing classes. No lance infantry until we get some DLC, and we will never have a lance cavalier or armored unit unless they release more unannounced characters.
Also as and have said, the whole clone thing is kind of annoying. I haven't even touched Leo for example since Elise plays the same, has higher offenses, and can heal.
I'll probably still end up getting the DLC since I really want to play Minerva, Oboro, and Owain but I'm sadly half expecting them to be clones.
All that being said, if you like Fire Emblem or Warriors games then definitely get the game. I'm honestly having a lot more fun playing it than I thought I would. I can see how it won't really be some people's cup of tea, but I think most will enjoy it enough to run through at least the story and a few history chapters.
Can I destroy Sakura's clothes yet?
just pay for them levels
Splatoon 1 & Mario Kart 8 on wiiu are still full price. That should tell you something.
How is the 3DS version? No Switch yet.
Dude. Robin is a beast.
Not her crit, the sol katti attack, which was American exclusive.
Get, comes with the soundtrack to the game and some pretty good cards of the characters.
I thought the same. Tried a couple of other mosou games before. Since I am a FE fan I gave this one a try as well.
What makes FEW truly fun is how the mix between Warriors and Emblems mechanics work so damn well.
If you don't mind paying for a game that is essentially a free to play game.
Will this run on CEMU? I don't want to download it if it won't.
You can't emulate games of consoles as long as the console is being supported. BotW is the exception because the WiiU stopped support.
>Wanting to already steal games
This is why no one seriously supports PC. Enjoy your early access scams.
Did you like Hyrule Warriors? It's an upgraded Hyrule Warriors, even better.
Roster issues aside, it's a great game.
Great game, I do echo the roster complaints though. If only they didn't drop the ball there, I'm sure the game would've sold better too.
>People complaining about roster
Nah son, it's only barafags mad they didn't got their Ike or Roy
You are retarded. Are you telling me me I can't emulate 3DS games even though I'm emulating Bravely Default right now?
>mfw Chrom being bullied by Marth
>Frederick being a huge jerk
>Literally anything Owain does
>All the Awakening characters are charming as fuck
>Meanwhile we have Xander and Ryoma being shitters while Niles and Oboro are NPCs but manage to be more likeable
I am so sick of Fates Royals. I wish characters like Arthur and Azama were playable instead.
End of Dec is Niles, Oboro, and Azura
End of Feb is Tharja, Olivia, and Owain
End of March is Navarre, Minerva and Linde.
Yeah, I hope they're dropped once FE Switch comes out
>barafags
>Roy
What the fuck?
Also, the roster is a legit complaint. The overabundance of Fates characters in particular feels like a huge waste since Leo/Elise and Takumi/Hinoka are moveset clones.
I mean, while I really want more games to be represented, I agree with you on that.
90% of complaints are MUH IKE, MUH MIA, MUH NEPHANEE, MUH MICAIAH, MUH ROY. Then you have Echoes shitters demanding Alm when Alm will obviously be a Marth clone.
I'm a bit upset the SD pack is being released last. I was really looking forward to Minerva.
One Piece Warriors is coming too.... At 30fps
Shadow Dragon in general was treated like an afterthought in the game compared to Awakening and Fates. Only three characters and two chapters in story mode where they appear out of nowhere and only play a support role rather than the story being focused on them for a while.
Bought it despite never having played FE because I wanted a musou for Switch.
Not really understanding how ordering people around works (one of my fuckers died because he was just chillin in some poison fog despite me ordering him to fight somewhere else) but I really enjoy that it's Hyrule Warriors with extra depth.
It's extremely half-assed, there are so many duplicate movesets that it pains me.
Some of the AI can be over-aggressive. Frederick loves to charge to his death sometimes, try setting him to defend rather than attack.
You can't give orders in posion fog as they can't see the map, best bet is to take >awat
ickly clear out any lava, fog, or long range lightning attacks.
Not just that, but even on Fates they did a poor job representing it by only picking royals
Honestly I liked Hyrule Warriors more, this game is too easy and I don't really like the maps as much. Also having to play characters on mounts feels like shit.
Once they complete whatever task you assign to them, they tend to rove around afterwards so they're always doing something and not being left idle after completing a task. You can't really chain commands together, if you want them to move somewhere specific after their last task, pop it open and order them again.
Listen to this instead, best song in the game.
God, I wish they hadn't brought in the female Fates Royals, all of them pretty much exist to bear children, none of them even contribute to the story.
>not this
youtube.com
>this game is too easy
That's more because of the QoL stuff. Hyrule Warriors is clunkier and the NPC AI is unreliable, which makes HW harder.
Elise, ironically, plays a fairly decent role in the third act of Birthright, considering she shows Corrin how to sneak into Castle Krakenberg and is the reason Xander goes Nuclear
MASA has never made a bad soundtrack.
Yeah, Elise arguably plays the biggest role. Camilla just attacks once in a while, Sakura I guess has her boss battle in Conquest, and Honkers exists.
Man fuck the Camilla chapter, those AOE attacks are bullshit on Hard/Lunatic
Sakura is also the first royal to take your side in Revelations, before then both countries are trying to kill you
Hinoka is the most nothing royal by far, literally the only thing of note she does is guard Castle Shirasagi's gate
It's a lot easier than Hyrule Warriors.
Character switching completely negated the main source of difficulty, which was managing your own presence on the battlefield and making decisions between which time-sensitive side objectives. HW warriors wasn't afraid to shove a red aura cucco up your ass if you made a bad decision.
FE warriors on the other hand, the worst that happens is the occasional yellow-aura officer that dies in one dual special anyway.
There's also no bullshit like this.
Take the worst aspects of Fire Emblem, it's embarrassing characters, and combine it with the terrible Dynasty Warriors gameplay. Probably the most unappealing big Nintendo Switch game to me. Hyrule Warriors was tolerable with its Zelda skin.
...
>warriors
>ever tolerable
I fear you may have brain damage if you can stomach even a second of these objectively bad, embarassing, abhorrent fucking games made for 8 year old ADHD jap kids.
sounds like you're a bitch
>Samefagging this hard.
>the only two missions that spam imprisoneds up your asshole also force you to use the two worst characters
They knew how bad Fi and Agitha are. They knew, and instead of making them fun to play, they just designed challenges around having to use them in situations where most other characters would have not even half the trouble.
I haven't played FEW but I hope to Naga and Hylia both that none of its players have to put up with anything even remotely like The Imprisoned's bullshit. That has to be the most anti-fun addition to the game that only exists to instill pure concentrated frustration to the player.
I thought the roster was pretty garbage from the start but it decided to give it a try anyway
There's lots of QoL changes, better framerate and draw distance, AI is smarter but I don't think the benefits outweigh the flaws
The roster is just plain bad. I don't even mind Awakening but they really needed every Fates royal? Also, their attempt at a "serious" story is borderline cringe tier compared to HW's theme park ride
There are so many clones. It has pretty much the same number of characters as HW but with a third of the moves. Link himself had what, 5 or 6 completely different moveset just by himself?
It'll probably sell because nu-FE fans have no standards but to me, for each improvement there are two downgrades
