What would you wanna see in the inevitable animal crossing for the switch?
I for one would like it if the proportions were a bit more realistic, the AC stage in MK8 is proof that this would be a step in the right direction and would make a town feel bigger.
Also ditch the rotating world opting for mario-esque movement and being able to rotate the camera anywhere, more nuanced PWP placement and the option to customize some of the actual landscape.

I'll settle for more dialogue or personalities. Or dialogue pertaining to species. Expecting big changes from the franchise is just setting yourself up for disappointment.
There's always been a big leap between generations though... but it does feel like they've settled for a look and formula.

If they keep the mayor system, I want to be able the swap mayors. Either as just a menu option or maybe every 2-3 months an “election” is held for the human characters. I understand a majority of players wouldn’t interact with this but my girlfriend, my brother, and I would all be playing on the same catridge and save
Better dialogue, I want the more asshole grumpy villagers back.

Being able to make human npcs that you can play, but can also be set as a personality and will actually go around the village and stuff rather than just being gone when not played.
More customization options of all sorts.
I dunno how they can bring back proper grumps. Apparently, the sanitization of the dialogue came from a more faithful translation of the original Japanese dialogue. Which I believe, but blows.
There won't be an AC for the switch. They're mobile now and making money off of kids with Pocket Camp and their cancerous leaf coins.

In Japan maybe, in the US there's no one spending cash with how much they shower you with fake money.
I want the option to mark villagers as favorites so that they'll never move out. This is the main thing that discourages me from going back to New Leaf. I know that I can't just pick it up and see mess around for a while because I don't want to go through the process of figuring out who's going to move and stop them.
Yes, like how there's no more Mario games since Super Mario Run and no more Pokemon games since Pokemon Go, right? One mobile game means that the franchise is now mobile-only.

New Leaf almost had it, but the sluggish connection from the 3DS made it a bother to play.

They can't remove the being mayor feature. It is too critical to NL's appeal.
