Are there ANY worthwhile living multiplayer shooters or team games left? I've given up on the usual super popular suspects: >CS:GO >Overwatch >TF2 (was a good decade but I just can't anymore) >Rocket League >Calladoody
I don't want to buy anything from the "battle royale" genre. I don't have an xbox for Gaylo. Even if I wanted to, I'm pretty sure other people aren't buying EABF2 for obvious reasons which leads me to believe it'll be just as dead as their first one in the same span of 3 months. I'd rather not play DotA2, and I don't think many people take the team aspects of RTS games at a nice casual/serious ratio (from what I've seen, too much of one and not enough of the other). I'm not going to ever, EVER deal with anyone from the arena shooter community for as long as I live, so I'm not going to touch Reflex, Q3/CPMA/QL, UT, or Quake Champs. Has anyone found some solace they can recommend? Should I just give up and enter the single-player realm? I'd rather not yet because I've been dying for something I can play with other people, preferably a nice and sane group of them, but I'm prepared to pivot if I must.
Jack Hernandez
you can still play enemy territory and there never was and never will be a better online shooter or online game for that matter
Dylan Rogers
>I don't want to buy anything from the "battle royale" genre.
Why not?
Logan Davis
You could always play the more niche shooters with smaller communities >Squad >Rising Storm 2 >Day of Infamy BFBC2 actually has full servers most of the time too
Camden Nguyen
Titanfall
Christopher Hughes
Dirty Bomb. It's free to play, worth a try. based on Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and Brink.
Gavin Lee
Unreal tournament 4 is great.
That is, if you happen to find players.
Easton Parker
Battlefront 2 is actually pretty fun.
Hunter Turner
>asking about multiplayer games on a south american gaming forum
Nicholas Flores
Have you tried Rainbow Six Siege?
Parker Foster
I specifically said I wasn't going to deal with any aspect of the arena shooter community. I've dealt with those retarded and obsessive faggots for years; I'm done with their bullshit, done with the fruitless grind, done with the endless cries of "this is the year we'll be popular!" If the game and its community was still actually good in the modern day, it wouldn't be in the exact same deadgame boat as all of the other "skill based" shooters.
I've seen enough gameplay and spoken about it with people that I know that it's an awful experience where most of their time is spent dropping in, dying, and either fucking around on their smartphone or repeating the queue process until they get into a game where they don't get blasted within the first 20 seconds, and THEN get to experience the actual game.
Squad was recommended. I was thinking about Insurgency. I'm not very good at these realistic games and I don't know anyone who plays anything from that pool outside of Squad, and the time they spend playing it is infrequent at best. I played RO2/Rising Storm, fell within the same kind of niche where I was the only person I knew who would give those games a second look. It got to a point where I could only play it at certain times if I wanted to encounter a good team that had a nice pub commander and not a tryhard commander who wanted to reenact Saving Private Ryan.
Tried it some time ago. It was ok, I guess. Never really had a sense of accomplishment or enjoyment no matter if I was winning or losing. Other people I knew used to play it, they all bailed rather quickly.
I bought the complete edition (the $20 one) during the sale and Ubisoft still expected me to unlock soldiers. I refunded it within 25 minutes.
Luis Brown
> bfbc2 still has active servers Really now, well I know what I'm playing tomorrow
Camden Sanchez
>Never really had a sense of accomplishment or enjoyment no matter if I was winning or losing.
Yeah I get that, 90% of games are either stomping or getting stomped.
Josiah Clark
Insurgency and Day of Infamy are quite fun for me personally
Camden Rogers
The more I think about it, the more I'm kind of thinking about either buying Squad/Day of Infamy or reinstalling Insurgency. I'm not very good at that type of shooter but I'm willing to give it a go if I can find people to play with.
Nicholas Gray
Insurgency Day of Infamy Squad Rising Storm 2 Titanfall 2 Battlefield 4 (still very active and better than BF1 imho)
Gavin Taylor
Natural-Selection 2
Wyatt Hill
It looks like the semi-tactical shooter is a pretty strong recommendation so far
Join the other fags in the "this is the year we'll get the recognition we deserve!" circlejerk
Camden Lee
People will say dead game and it is a grindy MMO (although the vanilla equipment is fine) but no game can give you the experience Planetside can
Owen Sanchez
>I bought the complete edition (the $20 one) during the sale and Ubisoft still expected me to unlock soldiers. I refunded it within 25 minutes. Jesus fuck dude, does it hurt to be this stupid?
David Reyes
>ET >arena shooter dumb fucking mutt
Joseph Foster
>dead game Dead's a little tough to define with a game like that which is a massive game but is also F2P. I see a general thread for it still up on /vg/, can't be that devoid of life, can it? One of my friends really liked it a lot back when, and I played it for a little bit with him.
Pretty sure Ubisoft expects me to be so stupid it hurts for me to actually fall for that bullshit. I'm not paying money just to grind through tutorial missions so I can unlock soldiers and then realize I don't like the multiplayer aspect of the game.
Enjoy your pugs with the same 16-some-odd people you've been playing with for the past six years
Leo Harris
siege is fun user, you should give it another shot. Unlocking dudes doesn't take that long with the non-starter edition
Adrian Flores
Nigga, the complete edition gives you all dlc ops, and that's exactly what it did. All base game ops cost fucking nothing and take about a week of playtime, the tutorial missions already give you the renown to unlock most of them. Refunding the game because of that is the same as refunding battlefield or cod or literally any shooter with an unlock system because "wtf I have to unlock guns?! that's bullshit"
Brayden Peterson
None of those games make me play tutorial missions to get necessary multiplayer content. For all the shit I've given the Battleduties since they became cashgrab hellscapes years ago, they still don't start the carrot and stick game as SOON as you launch the game.
Dominic Reed
Necessary gameplay content? The guns and gadgets just like in any other game?
Wyatt Garcia
you're not forced to do the situations in R6 either user, the multiplayer button is right there. The only reason I can see it being grayed out is if the game wasn't fully installed, uplay will let you run the game while installing or updating but only to play the offline
Carter Collins
The classes, with their guns and gadgets, a limitation specifically put in place only by this game. It is the absolute FIRST TIME I have ever seen this done, and only some developer as shitty as Ubisoft would do this. TF2 didn't do this for the F2P update where it introduced those somewhat-mandatory training modes for new Steam accounts. Fuck, WARFRAME never did anything like that and Warframe has a slew of microtransactions that people take extreme issue with.
Yeah, it was right there. When I clicked it, I had no soldiers and was shown a popup that I had to go play the tutorial missions before I could unlock the soldiers I paid for, and all of those tutorials were "you've never played a shooter before in your life please learn basic keyboard movement controls for XP"
Ian Sanders
you can play recruit if you own nobody
Eli White
Wow! I'm totally spending that $20 again!
Brody White
You didn't fucking pay for them, dumbass. You can't even unlock base ops with microtransactions.
Jayden Bennett
>You didn't fucking pay for them
Dylan Robinson
you idiot, you have recruit which gives you all the equipment of all the base game operators without their special abilities, you can just play him for literally a game or two until you get your first op. you'll still eat shit if you don't learn the basics from the tutorial, r6s is not like an average shooter at all
Lucas James
I dont find any option to upgrade from starter edition, and playing Terrorist Hunt to learn the ropes is so shit because it throws you into the awful school map where you can't see beyond a few feet
Samuel Jackson
okay this is bait lol, buh bye
Cooper Rogers
Just admit you're a huge retard who can't justify paying to grind.
Robert King
Uhh yeah, you payed for the game. You payed specifically for the game, so you can play the game and unlock them with ingame currency. With the special esition, you are buying specifically the game and DLC characters. How can you be this daft?
Thomas Jones
>I haven't played a battle royale game but I know they're bad cause some guy said so
When you're so fucking dumb you let other people make your subjective tastes up for you.
Zachary Wright
heroes and generals battlefield 4 tf2
Thomas Richardson
>I can't know if human feces tastes bad if I don't eat them!
Oliver Carter
Just admit that you sucked such shit at the game you couldn't put in the hour and a half needed to get all the vanilla operators
Josiah Rogers
Project Reality
Aiden Sanders
In my experience most of the DICE titles have at least one or two full servers but the player ping is anywhere from 30 to 400 because everyone across the globe is in one match.
Michael Howard
Just admit you're a huge retard who can't justify paying to grind.
Luke Lopez
It's not grinding if you're getting points while just playing the fucking game, retard.
Jackson Rogers
Just admit you're a huge retard who can't justify paying to grind.
Lincoln Green
Just admit you're a huge retard who can't justify paying to grind. It's all you need to do. Honestly, your insistence at the onset that I didn't pay for at least the base soldiers was enough to solidify my judgment of siege being yet another Ubisoft trasheap.
Xavier Lopez
I think you’re just it into games anymore. Maybe get into lifting.
Elijah Ross
Can't find anything quite as good as former TF2 and tribes quake live was okay, but it's dead pubg, quake champs, BF1, titanfall, FPS right now is just not in a great place hell, I reinstalled tf2 like 3 weeks ago and it still felt better to play than those last few games I mentioned
Hunter Morris
Just how pathetic can you get? Do you also start to screech autistically when any game has an unlock system? Because it's literally the same thing
Levi Jackson
Just how pathetic can you get? Do you also start to screech autistically any time you're blatantly wrong? Bet buyer's remorse is why you're still trying to prove me wrong.
Ethan Jackson
Don't try to convince him. The less retards in my siege the better
Andrew Sanders
...
Justin Hughes
It's been mentioned already, but Rinsing Storm 2: Vietnam is pretty good. I like shooters where enemies actually fucking die when you shoot them.
Wyatt Perry
>has no argument so he just repeats what I say like a parrot ggez
Adam Edwards
You've done nothing to prove to me that siege isn't absolute Ubitrash, can't gg out of a game you didn't even play.
Nolan Morgan
but it's fun and I need to go back and play it some more
Josiah Martin
It's ok user, if you just hold your ears, close your eyes and yell "lalala i can't hear you" you can keep pretending that you're not an idiot
Landon Lopez
It's will be a great game if it doesn't have all that shitty "heroes with perks" mechanic.
Nathaniel Cruz
How is it shitty? So far (not counting ballsack sisters, they should be removed from the game) operators are just "dude with a gun and a gadget"
Benjamin Robinson
...
Logan Edwards
>How is it shitty? Not being able to take equipment i want. Like in Raven Shield for example.
Carter Bell
Battlefield 4 still has a decent player base and is the most fun I've ever had in a shooter.
Ian Edwards
then play fucking recruit shitter
Henry Miller
Exactly, it's a balancing measure. If you could equip any gun on any op, everyone would run famas and SMG11. In this state however, it's ok for a character to have a better gun if he is slower and his gadget isn't as good as some other ones
Carter Harris
Just play pubg homo. Its only boring if you are incredibly bad or have no friends.
Cooper Lopez
just be glad the old school shooter is gone forever
Alexander Turner
the gun still is good, not as before but good(unless on console)
Connor Thomas
>I'm not going to ever, EVER deal with anyone from the arena shooter community for as long as I live You got me interested. What happened? Did you get bullied by a quakedad during real quakedad hours?
Nicholas Foster
I strongly recommend >BF4 >Insurgency >Squad
I dumped a ton of hours into Insurgency, and especially after I started downloading mods. Squad is fun when your team is actively working together, but can be kind of hard to pick up (took me a few hours to become a productive player). Once it gets air vehicles, it'll probably dump more time into it. I picked up BF4 again recently, and it surprisingly still has an active community. There are some good vanilla maps but premium is where it's at, and hardcore is the only way to play it. If my choices weren't obvious I typically like shooters w/ vehicles and a semi-realistic approach to health/gun-trades
Adam Torres
>I've seen enough gameplay and spoken about it with people that I know that it's an awful experience where most of their time is spent dropping in, dying, and either fucking around on their smartphone or repeating the queue process until they get into a game where they don't get blasted within the first 20 seconds, and THEN get to experience the actual game. you have listened to the opinions of casual gamers and people who are absolute trash. Pubg is a surprisingly hardcore game that would be classified somewhere around insurgency, squad, arma and red orchestra. I have no idea why it got this popular.
Honestly if you die in pubg its pmuch always your fault. Unless its a bug or a hacker.
>I'm not very good at these realistic games yeah no youll be dropping, dying from random headshot and be upset because the game is "unfair" or "filled with hackers" >I bought the complete edition (the $20 one) during the sale and Ubisoft still expected me to unlock soldiers. I refunded it within 25 minutes. lmao you're casual polfag. go fuck yourself.
Jason Long
Siege is fucking fantastic with a full squad of friends. It's the closest thing to playing a milsim without all the tremendous autism required.
Lincoln Morgan
you are retarded on so many levels.
Adrian Jones
Possibly, but at least I'm having fun.
Isaac Stewart
good multiplayer FPs is dead
Thomas Smith
>hardcore >pubg, insurgency, squad, arma and RO
Chase Miller
name ten games
Aaron Flores
i dont need to name shit
Jayden Reed
My only two shooter games right now are TF2 and deathmatch servers in CS:Source.
