Just put 70 hours into 0 and about to start Kiwami is there any giant differences between the two and what should i expect
Yakuza Thread
Most of the females are not modeled after JAV stars, so the female graphics take a massive nosedive.
Most quests are copied from Yakuza 1. While the game had absolutely awful quests which revolved around scamming and solicitors.
I never really got into the yakuza games why should i play them when they look like shitty sleeping dogs rip offs
Just don't play them if you don't like them, simple as that.
They aren't at all Sleeping Dogs ripoffs, as the series is far older than Sleeping Dogs and also not a GTA style game at all. It has similar elements, but it isn't a sandbox at all.
Its also fantastic, and if you enjoyed Sleeping Dogs you will most likely enjoy Yakuza. I don't care about GTA but love Yakuza and SD.

Kiwami is basically a 0 expansion
why did he go insane at the end?
Because he had to become the Majima the rest of the series has.
but there was like no build to it, he just became crazy after the stuff in dojima up until that he was just really angry
The people who were the most free, were eccentric psychos that gave their lives as sacrifices.
Cause he wanted to live life to the fullest, which means insane
We talked with Sagawa at the end he basically said fuck it. He said wanted to live his life the way he wants consequences be damn, the people he met in 0 really left impressions on him, especially Nishitani
>we
When he*
also had he ever met kiryu during the plot of 0 or was their first meeting right at the end?
They never met
Someone post the “what i expected vs what i got”
Kiwami is harder.
Where is the best place to start the Yakuza games if I've never actually played one before? Which is the easiest to get "hooked" on?
0
play yakuza 0 and if you like that play kiwami because kiwamis a blend of the old and the new. if you like both go back and replay the rest of them on ps2
Played Kiwami but never played 0.
I ordered 0 at best buy during black Friday.
Am I gonna like it Sup Forums?
I played the shit outta kiwami, even though the game felt kinda slapped together in some places.
The story got completely ridiculous while playing it completely straight at the end which must've been intentional, I think.
So I enjoyed Kiwami overall, is 0 like way better or what?
0 is literally perfect so yeah youre probably gonna like it
>MFW picked up 0 and Kiwami during the Black Friday sale
Going to have a fucking great time playing both.
I will never get tired of people who live non-linear time-lines.
0 on PS4 or 1 on PS2. 1 is a lot more rough around the edges but it's where it all started and you get to see the improvements game after game which is an amazing feeling however the experience isn't for everyone and they still didn't have the general combat stuff down pat in it. 0 is the culmination of years of refinement with the gameplay and has a load of stuff to do on top of being a prequel so while you may not get the references to later games you see the series from a different perspective, and Kiwami is made for people coming off of 0 so some of the substories are callbacks to 0.
It's up to you to choose, neither entry is wrong to start with but it's great fun to start from 1 and follow along with the releases. The jump from 2 to Kenzan was pretty awesome and then the jump from 5 to Ishin was equally as neat though it wasn't as drastic.
I just started chapter 4 in 0 and my main complaint so far is that combat with non-boss enemies is really starting to get repetitive. The combat system itself is fun to fuck around with but being able to mash square and occasionally hit triangle every once in a while is getting old. Do the non-boss encounters get spiced up later on? Also does Legendary mode offer up any significant changes from hard mode?
Only 70 hours?
Wanna hear something fucked up? 1's plot looks like a completely reasonable mature realistic crime drama compared to the plots of 3-5
5, fuck the police
Alright awesome, I'm basically amassing ps4 exclusives cause I might as well.
Horizon zero dawn I feel like might be decent but may fall into the many pitfalls of open world games but it still might be fun.
Also this is fucking gamestop not best buy, damn I would've gotten a better price at best buy if they had this shit on sale.
Kiwami is harder and definitely more barebones after playing 0. Also no new areas which is the biggest issue with Yakuza games, so tired of playing in Kamurocho for 4 games in a row.
I mean I heard you fight tigers or something in the second one so that right there is already a red flag.
It's ok, it's hard to take these games seriously even or even give a fuck if it's schlocky, if the main plot plays it straight.
None of the goddamn substories do anyways.
That part with the tigers is honestly my least favorite part of 2, the rest of that game's plot is pretty much the most serious the series ever takes itself, then that entire level sticks out like a sore thumb
The tiger chapter is actually pretty tame by 3-5's standards, especially 4 and 5. They go completely insane with those games and it's great, though the substories aren't as insane by comparison. Ishin and Kenzan have some pretty hilarious ones though.
Chinese triads are fucking nothing like the Yakuza
ishin fucking when
i'm bored as fuck of yakuza 0 but sleeping dogs is even worse. if yakuza 9 feels like half a game sleeping dogs feels like a quarter of a game. both are lacking massively though. sleeping dogs gameplay mechanics were fucking trash but the story was alright. on the flip size yakuza 0's story is literally abortion tier but the gameplay mechanis are pretty good.
shenmue still rapes both and shenmue 3 is finally coming out in the next year or so.
Damn, part of me wants a cool yakuza storyline but part of me also wants something actually insane.
I think I'll be good either way honestly. If this shit does get crazy then so be it I guess.
They're fun stories don't get us wrong and you do feel interested and engrossed in them along with seeing what characters do and how they develop, but man when the story actually unfolds and pulls off the twists it's just something else. 4's reveals kept coming one after the other and I couldn't stop laughing every time they pulled out another rug from under you, it was great.
Ok so I'll get a little bit of both grounded, decently written characters and a batshit main plot.
That'll be interesting, I'll be looking forward to it.

pls respond
the bosses in 0 are alright if you like fighting kuze 20 times, the best boss is the kuze in a sewer fight or majimas last boss
Kiwami has tiger drop, so it's definitely not harder.
Thanks for literally answering none of my questions my dude really helped me out
Thanks for being a massive crybaby bitch dude really makes the thread interesting to read
The combat pretty much is what it is. It's a 2D beat-em-up turned 3D, where heat moves are really just to give you a way to entertain yourself during them. The only real curveball is enemies with guns that you need to prioritize.
Eventually you learn to just avoid a lot of fights.
>hey do the non-boss encounters ever get interesting in this game
>Yeah man the bosses are alright
>lmao fucking retard
>Y-you're such a c-crybaby l-lmao...
Try actually not being an illiterate retard next time my man
ah so its shit thanks
>he doesn't enjoy Yakuza's heat moves
You're pathetic
ive been living non-linear time line for awhile. is this an actual thing? its my perception of time getting f'ed up. I have a fucked up sleep pattern too
You probably didn't notice but I was a new IP you little bitch
>p-pls respond
Learn to take a fuckin hint
Just import, it’s not that hard when you have khhsubs open all the time. Granted you’re losing out on some of the writing but everything else in the game is too good to pass on if you ask me.
Never. You just have to accept it.
