fuck you, there are more 40k games than there are zelda, mario, and metroid. 40k is video games.

Probably just a janitor who threw a fit. You'd have to be seriously brain damaged to declare 40k is not vidya.
Anyway, is there any game where I can play the best girls, apart from Dawn of War ?
tfw no SoB action game ;__;
God damn there is so much missed potential in warhammer 40k games its not even funny anymore. I would love to see a game where you can play as a SoB or SM or something and run around the galaxy killing shit in some kind of rpg fashion
Deathwing was fucking lit anyone who disagrees can fuck right off
totally bro! BRB buyin the new Madden game!
it was filled with dirty secondarie anyway
Someone asking "what is 40k" is not video games and there is not only an entire board dedicated to exactly what 40k is, but google.com as well. Fuck off, retard.
>STOP LIKING WHAT I DON'T LIKE
Don't you have to go make that one thread again for the millionth time today? You gotta keep that quota up yanno!
Do you REALLY want to play as fascist space Catholic nuns with guns that go around slaughtering hyper-degenerate turbo-sensual half-naked BDSM alien elves on whatever Craftworld you can mentally create? I don't think it will sell, female violence and sexual indecency and all that jazz.
Well when you put it that way, I really want to all of a sudden
40K is fucking damaged by its retarded fanbase that only appreciates muh spess marines anyway.
>no tyranids or genestealers in any central gameplay
>Interesting imperium factions like the mechanicus or sisters of battle completely omitted in favor of more spess marines
>no Tau to be seen
>no dark eldar or harlequin to be seen
Looks like you're talkin about that huge pile of shit called eternal crusade there, bud
I'm not telling anyone to stop liking anything, I'm saying that there are better avenues for such a targeted query. You want a 40k thread? You're in one right now, so calm down, or is being a raging douchebag the only way you know how to express yourself?
>Pretending to take the moral high road while telling someone to fuck off
Nice job there, bud. I suppose you're gonna meme at me next? If you don't like the thread, you can just hide it like the rest of us do instead of screeching at it autistically
>tfw Cult Ambush is unfair, but Deep Strike is okay
Fuckin' A, man...
I never said anything about this thread, I was talking about the one that got deleted, and the only one screeching like an autismo here is you. Seems you just can't help but reply to my posts with some vapid, unrelated garbage.
...
Sister of Battle 2B
well ok then, what's the current best online w40k game i can get into that has good gameplay?
None. Ever since DoW3 shat the bed, I doubt people have any desire to tackle the IP again.
Seriously all I fucking want is a Warhammer40k RPG. How is that fucking hard. At the moment I have to make due with fucking Fallout 4.
The space Marine multiplayer is good, but pretty dead.
>all I fucking want is a Warhammer40k RPG
You would think that with the resurgence of crpgs someone would have made a Dark Heresy style one.
Are there any good 40k games that properly represent the other races? I'm really sick of the one note space marines. I can only hear shit about the emperor and heresy so much.
The Dawn of War series is good, but the only other title I can think of is Fire Warrior. Fire Warrior isn't awful, only lorefags hate it, but it's not really worth playing.
I think the problem more lies in that not many competent devs are willing to make a Warhammer game or simply dont want to put up with GW's autistic bullshit.
This so much.
The fans care more about accurately depicting the exact properties of the dozens of generic guns than they do exploring the universe. They want 40k to be Doom with multiple factions, where it's only killing and badass and ebic kills.
It's not like anyone's begging for a friendship simulator, but what the fuck is wrong with factions teaming up or interacting sometimes? What's wrong with xenos being actual characters? Why does everyone have to be greywashed into being the same shit? The fact that the fans act like the Tau are more evil than the Imperium shows just how much they miss the point. It's not a subtle point, either. The Tau are good guys who struggle to succeed because the universe is so cynical. That's about it.
I want a 40k game with story beyond "Here's your army, go kill everyone else". It doesn't have to be much more than that. For me, the highlights of Space Marine was the interactions between the marines and the guards. The action was fun enough, but without personality it would have been an empty experience.
a dark heresy crpg would be nice. I also wish there was a resource management game where you play an inquisitor instead of an acolyte cell and you have to manage and improve your cells by sending them to investigate shit that's happening on different planets (their success depends on how experienced or well equipped they are, your personal relationship with various factions etc), recruiting new acolytes and improving your relationship with other inquisitors, forming cabals and other stuff like that. I have hard time imagining what an overarching plot could be. Investigating a heresy inside inquisition maybe.
Doesn't even need to be a fancy 3d game. Simple pixelshit graphics would work fine
>dat feel when W40k 4X game is in the works
Let's hope it doesn't suck.

Alright, let's brainstorm the perfect 40k game into existence. What elements from other games does it need to include ? Which studios are in charge of which part of the game ?
>voiceacting/lines on par with Dawn of War
>architectural art direction from Deathwing (atleast for the imperium buildings/ships)
>keep it lore-friendly so that the lorefags don't sperg out
Weirdest thing is neither Fantasy or 40k have any RPGs, doubly so because BOTH have traditional roleplaying games.
Reminder that there is a 4X game in the works. Its name is Gladius: Relics of War.
how many subtitles can they tack on?
From what I understand GW is just really autistic about staying faithful to the established lore. Then again, they let Relic come up with their own Chapter for Dawn of War so fuck if I know what's going on.
Still butthurt about the original idea of Eternal Crusade. A Planetside-like persistent warfront-based system with a bunch of different factions, chapter ships, airdrops, etc... It would've been glorious, they even had a thing where non-paying players would play ork boys. Purging BR/slav ork boys after dropping it with your customized marine would've been great. Instead it just before a highly mediocre lobby shooter. Still fucking assmad.
I've been trying to play an Assassin character in Inquisitor Martyr but the controls feel so fucking weird (especially the Dodge keys). Has anyone else rebound the keys? What's the most comfortable setting for you?
I've never played an ARPG where I've had to constantly rotate the camera in order to play. It gets really aggravating really quickly and I'm pretty sure my controls are just off.
>Hex based combat
>Endless Legend city building
Why do they insist on being bad?
>still mad as fuck about the clusterfuck Eternal Crusade
Finally got a great PC that can actually run it and can't find a fucking game. Even if it's horseshit, still the best I got for now.
I dunno, the official name of Winter Assault was Warhammer 40.000: Dawn of War: Winter Assault.
There was a interview somewhere that claims that with the first DoW GW let Relic goes with some liberties in the lore for the sake of gameplay, as long they got the atmosphere right.
>4x shit
>not even in space
If you are going into strategy, give us an autistic war game or a grand strategy game, not this.
Both Warhammers are literally prime material for an RPG setting and it's such a fucking travesty that no one wants to make one for some reason. We get all these boring tacked on fantasy RPGs copied from WoW but no one wants to copy Warhammer? Really?
>staying faithful to the established lore
good. if you want a mishmash of shitty lore that changes every 2 seconds go play star wars or something
What game does convey the feeling of being an Adepta Sororitas that slowly gets corrupted by slaneesh?
The fucking fans want every faction to be depicted the way that the Imperium depicts them, i.e. generic. They also want the Imperium to be nothing more than space nazis that worship the emperor like zealots and primarily fight chaos. They want the series to be boring.
The only faction that should be straightforward doomsday with no personality is the Tyranids. That isn't an insult, either, since that kind of archetype is pretty much essential and is still cool, in small doses. It's ok for everyone to be evil, too. They should just have the distinctive personalities that the lore gives them.
Chaos isn't just mustache twirling plot twist villains. There are 4 chaos gods with their own personality, and the gods are usually enemies. We should see multiple chaos factions and we should see them fight. They're also not mindless monsters, either. Nurgle's forces, for example, are supposedly friendly and want to spread their disease because they think it's a gift. Tzeentch's forces have a less distinct personality.
The Eldar aren't supposed to be evil for the sake of being evil, either. They're supposed to be playing 5d chess, and often that means having to do horrible things for seemingly no reason. Combine that with their selfishness and you can justify viewing them as heroes or villains.
I could go on and on, but the point is that WH40k is perfect for an RPG. There's so much that can be done. People always forget about rogue traders, too. And, fuck, what's wrong with actually being a hero? Grimderp is cancer.
Maybe we can get a decent knockoff title using extremely similar assets, like what Blizzard did with both Starcraft and Warcraft.
That feeling doesn't exist.
Craziest thing is 40k received quite a few decent games lately. People are simply still too focused on Dawn of War and Endless Crusade to notice them.

Brace for sperging about how Newcrons are the worst thing ever.
They're faithful to the point it becomes a detriment. Not so much in any 40k games, but Warhammer Online devs had to jump through hoops to get a healer class for Chaos because there's no such thing in the lore. Or how certain classes were gender locked, for example.
One of those is just a digital adaptation of a boardgame that has existed for years.
The other two are definitely just decent though, not really anything approaching great. Forgettable titles unless you're desperate.
What are the must have warhammer games that look good and work well under win 10?
>good. if you want a mishmash of shitty lore that changes every 2 seconds go play star wars or something
You do realise 40k has that exact problem, right? 40k lore is very inconsistent and self contradictory.
>Warhammer Online devs had to jump through hoops to get a healer class for Chaos because there's no such thing in the lore. Or how certain classes were gender locked, for example
TERA says hi.
What's the release date for Inquisitor Martyr? Can't find it anywhere.
>still no officio assasinorium game
fuck this gay universe
>We will never get a Rogue Trader game, where you're just a fucking crazy captain out exploring the universe and taking advantage of shit to get money and titles
Fuuuuuuuuuuuck, now I'm mad and upset.
It's a tragedy. The Imperium alone offers you so many possibilities. Just put me in the shoes of a rogue trader that I can customize and you've got infinite possibilities.
There are 13 major factions total. Even a fraction of them could fill up an entire game. Imagine converting to chaos, or joining the Tau, or hiring Ork mercenaries to fight Necrons or some shit. A rogue trader probably wouldn't be doing crazy shit like that, but who cares about that level of realism? The amount of fun GW fans sacrifice in the name of canon is ridiculous. Especially since every update drastically rewrites the universe.
but but it has stronk female characters! THEY BURN IT ALL!
that's cuz it's early access and therefore will never be released in the traditional sense
I'd love a 4x game if they had Paradox level combat systems, something like HoI4 or Eu4. Hex based stuff just seems lazy and overdone, I wouldn't say Dawn of War is the problem so much as Civ 5.
>Or how certain classes were gender locked, for example.
go whine about it on tumblr. Classes or races being genderlocked adds flavour
Only Warhammer game I've played is Vermintide. Where should I start for both fun and lore?
Isn't it also going to be on the PS4 and Xbox?
Doesn't look shit at least, do love 4x games so will remember this.
Guys you need to make sure you're actually talking about a video game instead of wanking about muh emphrah. /tg/ was literally created as a containment board for that type of shitposting.
I just want a Sisters of Battle game similar to Space Marine, guys. Why cant we have nice things?
>Fantasy
The Total War ones.
>40K
Dawn of War 1 and 2.
Space Marine.
Battlefleet Gotic: Armada.
Why all WH40k games so oversaturated with details. It's hard to play it.
If you're talking about Warhammer Fantasy, be sure to take Total War Warhammer.
because staying faithful to the source material
>a 40k game where you have the freedom of the courier from new vegas
I'd buy that for a dollar
Space Marines
Imperial Guard
Irks
Necrons
That's still way too few factions and you just know the rest will be DLC if the game does well but we'll see.
That's a Matt Ward problem, not a fanbase problem. He's literally the reason why GW add a Marine codex every other release.
Why are IG and Space Marines different factions in a 4X game?
It's cool on arts, but in game its hard to my eyes.
I'll take a better game with fewer factions over a rushed bloated clusterfuck any time man.
They did it before Matt Ward and they did it while Matt Ward was not working for the company (recently re-hired).
Dude's an idiot but he doesn't have that much influence.
Why not? IGs go heretic all the time.
An important rule before making a Warhammer game should be to at least hire voice actors who're not afraid to go hammy. Listening to the over the top voice acting in Dawn of War and Total War Warhammer puts it leagues ahead of the completely phoned in performance of Dawn of War 3.
This. Even Eternal Crusade would win quite the fanbase if they added SoB.
I've never much cared for battlefield strategy games, though I intend to try total war at some point. I don't care whether fantasy or 40k, just something action or small scale strategy with plenty of lore. Did Deathwing end up alright ever?
It bugs me, too. Might as well make a WW2 game where every branch of the US military is its own faction, then only have Germany and Russia as other factions
Japan is DLC and Italy gets left out entirely.
Because no one cares about gunsluts.
>gunsluts
Bolter bitches, user.
>He still hasn't taken the red pill and admitted that Fantasy is better than 40k
Then make a renegade guard faction.
Different ambitions, the IG general and/or Chapter Master are arrogant gits, muh honor or secret heresy.
The fluff is made to justify everyone willing to kill everyone else.
I'll take the setting which hasn't been abandoned and had most of its models discontinued, thanks.
No, as per . Just let it go.
>will never get a game ala Battlefront II where you get to be an ork boy and go on WAUGGHHHs with da boyz to stomp gitz
(You)
IN DEDICATO IMPERATUM ULTRA ARTICULO MORTIS
Would be hard to balance well if you wanted to include all the factions and stay even remotely lore accurate.
space marine
So is there any lore reason why most SoB's have white hair?
I assume it's something to do with maintaining an appearance of purity and uniformity.
Tell me about Space Hulk: Deathwing, how good is it?
Ackshually it's only the order of Our Martyred Lady that canonically does this.
it allright.
>Do you REALLY want to play as fascist space Catholic nuns with guns
Is this even a legit question?
>sexual indecency
Wut
Can love bloom on a battlefield?
Mediocre as fuck.
