which to get, the hori switch controller or the pro switch controller?

pro has an actual d-pad you dummy

The Pro switch controller is fine, but if you ever use the DPAD for anything you might be disappointed. It's not solid in the middle, so you can't use it like a traditional dpad.

Never tried the Hori one, maybe someone else has an opinion on it.

The hori has a disc you place over the dpad buttons though? You have a choice

Now for the real question
Grey or Joy Con?

Hori doesn't have HD Rumble or Gyro controls as far as I know.

HD rumble sadly isn't very important, but for games like BotW and Splatoon, you're going to want those gyro controls.

Grey unless you're under 14

I'm waiting for a pro controller revision, I'm not sure how much the d-pad will annoy me and I don't want to risk it. Doggo controller for now.

Grey or the non-neon colors.
I think there is only the Mario-Odyssey red though but it's a really nice red

Just get the wii u's gc adapter
pro's d-pad is shit desu

Pro dpad is absolute trash. Don't know about hori but it can't be any worse then the pro's

>botw
>gyro controls

You mean those 2 shrines?

Don't listen to those faggots the neon colors is great

grey, would go blue if it where one color

And bow aiming

Gyro aiming is nice. I played it on the Wii U and hated the gamepad too much so I just aimed with sticks on the pro controller. But if I had Zelda on Switch, I would have certainly aimed with the gyro.
Now I have a Switch but don't want to buy Zelda again and another 120 hours, at least not yet.

Just use the joycons.
Any other controller is unnecessary.

Neither, get the Mario Odyssey bundle joy cons

If this were 10 years ago I'd have picked grey because neon is for faggots, but I went with neon instead because grey looks so fucking boring.

Why is nobody mentioning the patrician choice?

That's what I was going to do but I was too late, they stopped selling them. So got a gray and bought Mario physical.
If you want a Mario one now, you're looking to pay $500+. I say fuck that just for some red joycons and a non-physical Mario.

Who gives a shit then? It's far from being important enough to even have slight influence.

Not sure about Splatoon since I only played the tutorial but people have been blowing gyro aiming way too hard

Neon would be better if the red didn't look like shit.

Yeah, it's not a huge deal, but I personally think the Hori controller with all the shit stripped is a downgrade from just using the joycon grip.

You need gyro for splatoon

thanks doc

Splat 2 is supposed to be coming in the mail today. What's better? Joycon grip or detached?

That's a good point

They released another red recently
youtube.com/watch?v=gPi6T7-t_pU

technically they're also neon.

I really wanted those red ones, but the bundle was sold out and I didn't like how Mario was digital only.

Detached

No way they wouldn't sell those separately

Actual red? Might have to get those some day.

Grey. Neon is cringe

The joycons aren't wired though

They're able to communicate directly with the console in plane mode, so they're better than wired.

Fuck radiation, wired all the way.

Are you retarded? In portable and plane mode, it doesn't use wireless.

There's literally cuckold porn running through your body from your neighbor's wifi right now.

Would love if either of these was released in Canada.

>d-pad
This is stupid. Why would one even need this shit?
>m-muh fighting games
Switch has like a 1.5 SF games and that is it.

I'm talking docket. Explain how you use joycons wired in docked lol

I only dock to charge.

Also I hope you never use wireless anything if you're that paranoid about radiation. Or light bulbs.

Light bulbs and bluetooth aren't the same user

Whatever you say, Mr. Jones.

You can't play multiplayer Mario kart like that. Some people have friends.

...

Do you have to have both usbs plugged in?

black USB 1-2
white USB 3-4

Radiation.. Hmm

Am I stupid or is there no joy con charging dock included when I buy a switch?
Do I need to buy one seperatly or do the controllers recharge with the console?

Charge on the console

It will charge with the console, I think that's even true if the console isn't plugged in, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Got one yesterday, isnt included. Bought a hori pad for 24 dollar.

hori doesn't have gyro and HD rumble

gyro aiming is the best shit since mouse aiming and anyone that says otherwise is a pathetic stick cucklet

>hori doesn't have gyro and HD rumble
You got the joycons for the few games that have it.
Pro controller is just so expensive.

You only choose Grey if you have no personality.

I wish there was some way to fast charge without a big power brick. Even buying a thinner USB-C wall adapter, that thing is still thicker than the actual system so it's not gonna fit in any practical Switch case. Gotta put the wire in the case and just throw the brick in my pocket. Not as bad as the big ass dock plug that came with the Switch I suppose.

Grey by far

>Pro controller is just so expensive.

honestly you get your moneys worth, the pro controller build quality is honestly higher than the entire switch console, it's heavy just right, it's stupidly ergonomic and the sticks don't get loose as fuck after 100 hours of aggressive use, speaking from personal experience

The joycons charge extremely fast and have a very long battery life. Just by attaching them to the console when I'm not playing, I've never once needed to charge mine and I've had it since launch.

Don't fall for the charging grip meme. Don't fall for the charging dock meme. Both are pointless due to the long battery life of the controllers.

The d-pad issue sounds like such a turnoff to me though. Have you ran into any problems with it? Some say it depends on the game and how it handles diagonal inputs. Like, some will always register diagonally up as just "up", especially games like Tetris where diagonals don't usually do anything.

I don’t think it will. Joycons have a longer battery life than the Switch, and having the console charge the controllers undocked would kill the battery life

Not sure what the fuck happened to my post
That's a good point, I'd rather not have it charge the joycons I suppose

It is a pretty stiff for sure, but I personally haven’t had any issues with it.

It uses more battery using the controllers wirelessly than it does charging the controllers.

I think the d-pad issue was part of the release batch ones because I got mine when splatoon launched and it never hits up or down when pressing right or left

It's pretty cool all the shit it does to save battery. I always expected it to still just be a wireless signal even when they're attached, with the connection only being used for power, but it seems to really turn off bluetooth mode since it needs to work in airplane mode.
Still only gets 3 hours of battery life, but I can only imagine how bad it would be otherwise. Big ass bright screen and it really is a last-gen console that fits in your hands, so pretty impressive to me.

wtf im irradiated now

Bluetooth is still radio frequency of around 2.4-2.485 GHz

So its wavelength is c/f = .125m or 12.5 cm.

Conversely, visible light has a wavelength ranges between 400 and 700 nm. You can backtrack to find its frequency, f = c/l = (3.0*10^8 m/s)/(500 *10^-9 m) = 6*10^20 (1/s)

What does this all mean?

Well, energy of a photon (which is any particle of the electromagnetic radiation, including visible light) given by

E = hc/l = hf

where h is Planck's constant = 6.626 *10^-34 J*s

So the energy of a photon of the visible light spectrum:

E = hf = 6.626*(10^-34) * 6*(10^20) = 3.97 *10^-13 J

Where as a particle of the bluetooth spectrum has the energy of

E = hf = 6.626*(10^-34) * .125 = 8.28*10^-33 J

So in comparison Visible light is stronger than Bluetooth exposure by a magnitude of 20, or it's about 10^20 times stronger.

So user, you'll be fine. Bluetooth waves are too weak to do anything to you.

>dick so small it doesnt come above the switch

HHAAHAHHA

But it does.

>Am I stupid or is there no joy con charging dock included when I buy a switch?
>Do I need to buy one seperatly or do the controllers recharge with the console?

Unless you buy multiple pairs of Joycons that you'll be using simultaneously often, what's the point?

Just put them back on your Switch when you finish playing and put the Switch back in its dock.

I've been playing docked mode exclusively and never had to worry about my joycon's running out of charge.

CLACK

>the hori switch controller

They're called Joycons!

Because they give me joy in my cunny

thanks doc

This was kind of funny the first time you did it, but the 20+ times after that have been really repetitive.

DO NOT GET A HORI!! I got this gamecube hori control with turbo, and the joystick stopped working.

K. I've got multiple Hori controllers that still work just fine after 20+ years. All my original Playstation controllers are Hori and they work just fine.
