It's been a while since I've last touched mine. I'm working on a 4 player co op level with each of the characters each playing a vital role to progress. I want to eventually sequence my own music tracks for it, although that will take some time

bump

does anyone even play this game?

Me

I stopped making levels when LBP3 came out broken as shit and with a split community across platforms.

Shame sony had to kill such a promising franchise by handing the game to inexperienced devs and rushing it out for the holidays.

>ywn go back to the early days of LBP2

>work on one for several days
>encounter terrible bug
no thanks tbqh

I'm, playing through the one on Vita right now and loving it.

The floaty complaint is true
The imprecise jumping complaint is now

I wish more 2D platformers tried analog movement.

The vita one is great. Pretty much a fully featured port of LBP2 but with a new pretty good story mode. Too bad nobody bought a vita so the community is even deader than LBP3

is not*

it's weird how sackboy runs slightly faster left than right. you can measure this with a speed sensor and one of those yellow sticky notes that take signal inputs in lbp3

Why couldn't MM do the 3rd game? Were they too busy with Tearaway?

Shit people still play this?
I remember like it was yesterday playing Chris-Chan's awful levels in LBP 2

I guess they just wanted to do something new instead of more LBP
I think Tearaway was developed when Dreams had started already

I would plan to spend months making an amazing level.

But then I remember it's simply not worth it. Nobody but emo pre-teens play LBP anymore, and my level would probably get like 7 plays. Furthermore most "amazing" LBP levels are actually shit gameplay-wise, they're just "amazing" in the sense that they were made in LBP.

Chris-Chan made levels?

I only played Little Big Planet on the PsP and i made some Megaman levels.

tfw used to manipulate the cool levels algorithms by getting all my friends to play and heart it as soon as published

pushes it right up the order, usually got a decent amount of plays like 10k

the only reason I ever go into LBP is to play that Pianomania level (rhythm game) and sometimes mess with the music sequencer.

I used to love playing LBP, could never make a proper level but I did make a ton of cool builds, it’s the only game I bought the second and third iteration immediately when it was available.
Haven’t touched that game in years.

Yeah, god awful ones.

>create some contraptions years ago
>advanced as fuck
>try to make something similar
>can barley make a car
the game is fun as fuck PC ver WHENN???

You know never. Sackboy is forever Sony's

Have they ever fixed the PS3 version? I lost my save file twice and never bother again.

The first game was fucking magical - going around the world and experiencing cultures made out of fabric and little objects was pretty charming. It held up to the name of the series. Unfortunately, the later games did not.

>check'em
>no post numbers.

LBP2 had a great story mode too. They couldn't really do the different country themes again but the levels were just as good as 1, and more varied

LBP- A truly handcrafted adventure, inspiring creativity, fun and adventure with your pals
LBP2- A creators paradise, introducing gadgets and advanced creation tools to make levels with many moving parts behind the scenes. Sackboy takes on the future.
LBP3- Great expectations and promising ideas unfulfilled. A short story used only to introduce Sackboy's new friends, relies heavily on the community to produce content. With all the tools and 16 layers for creators, the end of the trilogy ends sour.

>I think Tearaway was developed when Dreams had started already
True.
Good news is, we're probably getting a release date on the 5th of December

I hope they tell us what the fuck the game actually is. Nobody knows, and it's gonna kill sales if they don't market it clearly

What are your opinions on Dreams? Its based on lbp and made by the same guys but has 3D modeling tools

what about the handheld ones?

looks awesome, but not enough info on gameplay

The one for the Vita was actually really good
Maybe they should've given LBP3 to the same dev

>Buy this game on release full price
>Played the campaign
>Nothing special, forgettable buggy garbage
>No online coop

Fuck this game, never touched it to this day.

Never played, but always heard it was good. Couldn't you play all the lbp2 community levels on vita?

It's been quite cryptic and very ambitious looking. Game making, sculpting and animating as well as a story to go along with it is all I've taken from it.

I need it in my life. Even if they make a bad campaign i am so fuckign ready to make greatness myself.

...

try it out yourself on pc, the psp version runs perfect on ppsspp. Absolutley worth it.

It just seems to take a lot more skill now to make a good-looking level now that you need to use the ps move controllers.

You don't need to use move controllers. There are even people on the dev team who prefers dualshock without camera to the move controllers.

>spent like 48 hours making my first level
>make my friends try it out when its done
>i accidentally made it impossibly hard because after trialing every section of the level 100's of times i didn't realize i was practicing the fuck out of every little obstacle and kept making them harder because i thought it was too easy
> no one played it anyway

Hmm i made a few lvls in LBP 1 and they got a couple of hundred of plays.

PSP is fucking garbage, vita is port of LBP2 but with a better story mode

to be fair i bought the game probably a good 6 months after release

Yeah i got it on launch. I remember being so goddamn sad that they delayed the game. I wish i had gotten an early copy like so many others.
Who gives a shit that some arab mentions god in his song.

I'm still pissed LBP3 wasn't a PS4 exclusive. The PS3 version held back the level creator so much. I tried making a few levels like the mansion from resident evil, a fantasy level where you build a village, and a Smash TV style survival map. Unfortunately my vision tends to get cut short thanks to the limited thermometer.

That was something that a lot of older game devs did. I remember Iwata talking about it on gccx

This sounds neat, do you remember where you read it or saw it? I'd like to see it as well.
