but yukiko is the only girl worth marrying
...
3’s combat system is actually pretty shit. You’ve obviously never played it
I remember Persona 3 having the best story but otherwhise Persona 5 has improved in every way.
I should probably replay Persona 3.
This
3's combat is fine. It has multiple phys damage types which is at least better than persona 4, and your party members are more useful than in persona 5 due to the less complex element types.
The biggest problem is that the version of the game with good graphics doesn't allow you to control your party members which means they basically do what you'd normally do except every now and then they do something stupid and it kills you. This is solved if you just play the version with bad graphics
I love Fuuka
Lads, is Q worth my time? I picked it up on sale but good lord my interest just hit a brick wall at the third labyrinth.
I'm playing P3P and i'm going all out to get genius status so I can hang out with mitsuru, am I going to regret it big time?
You're gonna regret playing P3P over FES
This. I’m glad I listened to people who told me to play FES instead of P3P
I stopped in that exact place for like 5 months. for what it's worth I thought the game was great after i picked it back up, every area after that one is better and I feel the story finally starts to take the focus as opposed to the mindless wandering of the first several areas.
>muh graphics
p3p has functioning combat and girl route
fes just has expressionless character models
No, Empress has some fucking great Personas in 3.
That's just subjective. I found The Answer to be hot garbage and preferred the FeMC route.
Fuuka is cute!
Persona 5 was an excellent disappointment, I can't stand people calling it a masterpiece
It’s a masterpiece
>p3p has functioning combat
it has retard proof combat with lengthy loading times on every single action, completely ruined fusion spells and tiredndess and it fucks up the entire economy of the game. They also shoehorned MC into only using swords because p4 did it
it also has shitty in engine cutscenes instead of anime during the opening/ending that make some of the best parts of the story fall flat
Wait, there's a version of P3 with controllable party members?
P3P also has
>less weapon variety
>less scene detail because the most you get is two lines to describe a scene.
>no fusion spells
>braindead combat
>no tired mechanic to make you pace yourself between tartarus visits
>teammates no longer pocket money and buy their own stuff and equipement.
It loses a lot of great details that make P3 unique and that loses points.
Not the P3P is bad, it just isn't the best version for your first experience
well, shit
i'm nearly up to the third full moon, should I just drop P3P now and start P3 FES?
reminder
P5 = P3 > P2 > P1 >>>> P4
>braindead combat
>it has retard proof combat
there is literally no skill involved in the ai of Persona 3. You just tell them what to do and HOPE they do the think you want to them to. You are controlling them with a chance of the AI flipping and and being retard instead of just manually controlling them.
There is no defending this.
could a western persona game work? maybe a private academy or something
Fuuka is the cutest!
The purest!
The nicest!
...
someone post it
you know exactly what I'm talking about
I'm gonna end up playing P4G for the 5th fucking Christmas in a row. It's just too perfect for this time of year. I always start around December 1st and get to January by Christmas time
Why do people hate P4? It’s good
>Complaining that they did away with the needless Phys split or overblown anime cutscenes
Wrong
IS/EP > 4 >= 3 > 5 > 1 > Q
I wonder if there are people who play through persona games by only playing one day per real life day
sparse plot and static characters
quality wives distracted people for a long time but now it has both P3 and P5 to compare to and the popular opinion is shifting a little
P2 has the best story in the series
Yeah every version does. You can't tell them exactly what spell to do but you can tell someone to heal, or knock down enemies, or guard or whatever. People are such idiots over exaggerating how you 'can't control' your party in FES. You can, and do.
>Shows persona 3,4 and 5
Do persona revelations and persona 2 not exist?
Persona 3 Portable, yeah
P2's gameplay is slow and monotonous unless you know exactly what you're doing.
I would. I liked seeing the actual cutscenes instead of just two portraits talking. Also you get The Answer epilogue too, if you wanna know what happens after the main story.
You're missing the point entirely. the combat in P3 is so mindless (especially with the changes in P3P) that there's no reason an AI can't do it, especially since MC is the one doing most of the work anyway.
What difference is there between AI mitsuru set to knock down enemies (to the point where she will literally not do anything if she can't and doesn't need to heal anyone) and me manually hitting X to cast bufu over and over?
There fucking isn't any, except that in P3P I have to spend that micro second of my life making her manually do it while I wait for there to be a loading time for every single attack because it's on the shitty PSP and it cant load fast enough, while in the PS2 version it just does it for me and makes the fight end that much faster.
How much time this saves is absolutely worth all of the extremely rare edge cases people meme up about the AI fucking them in this game, which all boil down to "I was too fucking stupid to set their AI properly or I wasn't prepared for something so I died (in a SMT game? who woulda fucking guessed?) so its a bad mechanic"
If we had a version with manual control on a real console instead of a shitty handheld like the PSP, I wouldn't argue for FES. But P3P is an objectively worse version of the game in all ways except for trannies/waifu-fuckers that wanna play as a girl.
Sure I just decided to use that image since they’re the only ones I’ve played
Okay, let's say you're right
That's still just one thing over the hundred other things P3P butchers from the game
P3P still has phys split, the only difference being that you don't get to choose what weapons you want to prepare for a specific fight
Once Shinji dies you can't use Mjonir if you want, that is literally cutting content for no reason
The Transfer Student one?
Persona 3 Portable, but it sucks because they took out the overworld entirely.
>sparse plot and static characters
are you fucking serious right now? Persona 5 literally has no overarching plot. It's just a series of villain of the week mini-series' that are just barely tied into the most unneccesarily elaborate plan to advance one guys political agenda, which isn't even mentioned until the last leg of the game.
Persona 4 at least has a plot, with each month leading the group closer to the killer. It has it's problems, but if sparse is the word you're gonna use then maybe you should have thought about how sparse P5's plot is first
>Complaining that they did away with the needless Phys split
it was a way to diversify party members and it let them make phys moves actually feel different instead of all being the exact same so that you just spam the best one for whatever level tier you're at constantly
>or overblown anime cutscenes
only a skullgirls fan could have taste this bad
>That's still just one thing over the hundred other things P3P butchers from the game
muh lifeless character models
There's literally five times that i can think of where the characters do non-stock animations. Persona 3's character models are a lot worse on this front than 4's and 5's, they aren't anything worth missing.
Will persona 6 be green?
too bad her voice actor is horrible
Nigger, I made a fucking list of the things P3P ruins, why don't you acknowledge those?
>Sparse plot
It's laid back and more character focused, that's why there are so many slice of life moments.
>Static characters
Yeah, you didn't play 4.
Why do you think there will be a Persona 6? Hashino at his team are gone, they're done with Persona
People on Sup Forums are ridiculous contrarians. Persona 4 is a fantastic game in a lot of ways, and anyone who thinks it's THAT much better or worse than 3 has just spent too much time arguing on Sup Forums
Why not?
The story is extremely poorly thought out and every single character just exists to suck main characters dick or be an obvious antagonist asshole for him to knock over and look cool so they're all extremely under-developed in a game series where that was one of the main selling points
Despite being made on the exact same engine as P3 (to the point where the entire soundtrack is still on the disk) P4 removed or casualized tons of mechanics from that game while also having MORE dungeons to go thorugh meaning the combat is a gigantic slog thats entirely carried by presentation and your brain not stopping and thinking just how empty everything you're doing is. P4 gameplay is the equivilent of eating a shitload of junk food and going into a trance.
The game was made in about a year to cash in on the surprise mega popularity of P3 and it shows from top to bottom. And then atlus decided to rehash the shit out of it for nearly 10 years so everyone got real fucking sick of it
Absolutely based. Ohya is worst girl though.
What do you mean, Mamiko Noto is probably the nicest voice in the cast
>Yeah, you didn't play 4.
characters in p4 never go through shit that fuck them up emotionally after their intro month. there are no consequences to the action.
Why didn't I know of this? I couldn't care less about Persona 3/4 overworld because the models look like shit anyways.
Evens the emo
Odds the redhead
> Persona 5 literally has no overarching plot
just because it doesn't explicity spell things out for you like P4 does constantly doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Every single arc has stuff that builds up to shido and yaldabaoth
Meanwhile P4 is just "someone you just met is now in a TV, get them out" follwed by a smash cut to angry shillouette making a mad face, and it goes "THIS IS THE REAL KILLER" four fucking times
Why does she look terminally ill?
>sparse plot and static characters
>is the only game of the three with an overarching plot
>static characters
>is the only game of the three in which every single party member has an entire segment of the story dedicated to their acceptance of self
You do realise that p3p has taken a lot more than the anime cutscenes, its taken the in engine cutscenes away as well.
1 and 2 are dogshit
3 is alright
4 is good
5 is great
...
Congrats, you rolled best girl and the most adorable Attendant.
I just realized Persona took influence from One Piece
>blue
Aokiji
>yellow
KIzaru
>red
Akainu
It's cool discovering neat little things like this
I don't understand what you mean, Fuuka is a magnificent girl who's full of life and love.
>Persona 3's character models are a lot worse on this front than 4
I could understand comparing it to 5 but p4 had the same quality animations as p3, it seems weird to pretend they were better.
>just because it doesn't explicity spell things out for you like P4 does constantly doesn't mean it doesn't exist
Actually, yes it does. It does not exist. Shido's agenda and Yaldaboath's plan have nothing to do with the characters motivations to act as Phantom Thieves
Nigga, Yaldabouth INFLUENCED the world to bend to Shido, that's the reason why even after he's discovered everyone still wants him
I don't know why people even like Persona 3 for anything besides the music. The story is garbage, the characters suck balls, and the gameplay is horrid. It controls like a piece of shit and looks like one too. Everything sucks about it. Demon Fusions, battles where you can't directly think for yourself. You're essentially only playing the game 1/4 the time, since you can only control Makoto, and 5 percent of that is occasionally switching tactics. So deep. OH there is more weapons. Makes the combat very deep.
Even Atlus knows they improved with P4, and then P5.
It persona 2 is a color, its violet
The purple and red clash to make a darker shade.
Yeah remind me when we find that out? Remind me how that motivates you, the person playing the game, to be a Phantom Thief for the first 95% of the game
Because you're a retard who can't possibly fathom people liking things you deem bad, since preferences are something people with pea brains like you seem to struggle to comprehend
Also, funny that you think P4 is an "improvement" when it was literally made without a plot document and therefore suffered heavily with its storytelling
>typical braindead P3 baby seething
Persona revelations is green
Persona 4 doesn't have an overarching plot and you're a moron if you think otherwise.
You wanna know what happens between yukiko being kidnapped and nanako being kidnaed (70% of the game)? You get more party members and that asshole teacher gag character dies. That's fucking it. Month after month of "lol sorry I don't remember who threw me in here" with a brief moment where you chase after beta murderer kid who has nothing to do with anything and basically just exists to pad for time. Then after nanako gets kidnapped things start to happen.
It's a murder mystery where the characters/player figure out the culprit by effectively going "well nobody else on this list would make any sense so I guess it has to be him" and then the culprit just randomly acts like an asshole and incriminates himself so it turns out you were right. The ONLY forshadowing in the ENTIRE game is the handshake, except since this game is super fucking long you're probably going to forget that even happened after all the filler this game has.
People (who are dumb) will argue that 3/5 have this same problem but they absolutely do not. In P3 your specific goal is just "beat up the shadows as they show up every month" but inbetween that you have character arcs (akihiko/shinji/ken drama, junpei and yukari's doubts about SEES and the people in charge of it, MC becoming friends with pharos which sets up the entire last arc of the game, aigis becoming more of a person ect ect) whereas because P4 is a shitty game the characters just exist to say their one joke/gimmick every couple scenes and wildly speculate about events because the protagonist is a mute.
Likewise P5 actually has every dungeon play into the overall conspiracy in some way, and it has a twist (goro is a traitor) and a twist on THAT twist (the entire cast knows and pulled a prank on him) that you can actually fucking figure out ahead of time using stuff that happens in the game, again unlike P4.
>they're blue, yellow and red so they must be the admirals from One Piece
Actually, it's purple going by the JP Boxart and the Remake.

>The team were an easy-going lot, Hashino revealed. For example, when they usually created a game, the team would compile a document with all the information about the game contained within. However, in the case of P4, they chose not to. When they idea was considered, the team figured that they had a vague sense of what was going into the game already, so they didn’t require one.
>Not that it was smooth sailing all along, however. Hashino also jokingly revealed that they would never make that mistake again, considering how much trouble the lack of such a document had caused them.
I actually hate Persona fans with a passion now. Used to be pretty chill fanbase. Just look at this fucking thread
>Implying Adachi didn't become suspicious as shit after realizing he's the only major character without a Social Link
This guy seems pretty alright for a waifufag
>one piss fags are this autistic and delusional
lmao
Possible colors of persona 6
Orange, indigo
>Persona: revelations green
>Persona 2: violet
>Persona 3: blue
>Persona 4: yellow
>Persona 5: red
Possible persona 6
Orange
I asked around here some time ago and apparently a lot of people didn't realised that it's him
Violet is purple but we are going by the rainbow here
Plus P5 is actually Crimson
>Shido's agenda and Yaldaboath's plan have nothing to do with the characters motivations to act as Phantom Thieves
Except that shido being an asshole and joker not being able to deal with it is the entire thing that puts him in the situation and gives him the motivation to want to be a phantom thief instead of just being someone that bends their head and lets Shitty Adults do whatever
And that kamoshida is only allowed to get away with everything he does because the principle is part of shidos group, which is the thing that has the above two points smash together. Every other villian is directly working for him, including sae's superiors which made her enough of a bitch to have a palace too.
And that yaldabaoth takes an active part in guiding the protagonist to be a phantom thief as igor throughout the entire game and constantly pushes him towards doing more and more as one.
If you're going to say "yeah but I didn't know it was yaldabaoth so it doesn't count" not only is that missing the point but there were actual hits that "igor" wasn't who he said he was, like the fact that he doesn't ever actually fuse (unlike every other game) or that he calls it MY velvet room instead of THE (unlike every other game).
Meanwhile all you get for izanami is the shaky connection of handshake you probably forget about leading into a dread segment you also probably forget about and that the gas station attendant only shows up on rainy days (except that when she shakes your hand it isn't raining?) which are way easier to just brush aside
>the most adorable Attendant
But I picked Elizabeth.
Exactly. You have to fucking metagame in order to pick him.
There's fucking 0 in game reason to suspect adachi outside of stuff that only works after you know the twist, like "well he wasn't just a bumbling detective but was actually leaking you info on purpose for some reason". You pick him because the list is "your party members, every social link, and then adachi and the teacher" and the game is obviously not subversive enough for anything but the last two options to be correct given how saccracine the lats 50 hours have been
Haru.
That's an assistant
best girl
So is there a consensus on FES vs Portable?
Does 5 have the best combat of the series?
You missed out. Theo is just that endearing kind of autistic.
Who would people let into their houses despite being unannounced? The deliveryman, as was the basis for Namatame's incidents, or a cop. Given how the only people you see Adachi ever interact with are you, Nanako, and Dojima, it becomes clear pretty quick. I originally thought it was the attendant.
So glad I held out for her. Best girl 2017.
>the ai buys their own equipment
Hold the fuck up, did we play the same game?
in the original cut of P3 aigis didn't have an slink either
but the fact that the main reason to suspect someone in a murder mystery (that literally opens with "hey don't spoil it, that would be nice") is a metacontextual one instead of anything in the actual story or world is extremely shitty
>Who would people let into their houses despite being unannounced? The deliveryman, as was the basis for Namatame's incidents, or a cop.
except adachi never threw anyone into a TV besides mayumi and saki who just happened to be near them.
are you trying to say he threw in nanako? because that was namatame.
