How come there's never any Sims thread on Sup Forums?
First time playing the Sims since the release of 2, skipped 3 because I couldnt run it. I'm having a blast. It's so fucking addictive.
For anyone scared about the controls, it's hard for the first 2-3 hours and then you're an expert and it becomes the best Sims port ever made.
A few glitches here and there but nothing gamebreaking so far

Only if you absolutely can't pirate the PC version for whatever reason. The controls are bad, there's no mods to help the glitches like MCCC, etc.
Just do it, you won't regret it.
Game seems to be running smoothly, and it is IMO very fun, although I've never played 3 so I can't compare.

Nostalgia can sting in the most awful way because you remember how much fun you had playing it for the first time. Sims 1 and 2 were super games in my opinion.
Okay well do you have a rundown of what is or isn't available if you have just the base game? Because it looked to me like you needed the first expansion pack to even have a job.
Oh my god user stop. I remember being 12 and being so hyped for The Sims 2 and watching the video where the guy explained pic related's life along with all the new shit coming out in 2. It just seemed so big, such a leap in technology
To this day, I've never been as hyped for a game and even if I was, none of them was worth the hype except The Sims 2

i am running it on a i7 2.2 laptop with most options on medium at 60 fps, it runs better than sims 3 even

There's something special about The Sims 2 soundtrack that not even the first one has. The Sims 1 has an amazing soundtrack, but 2's just sounds so fucking retro and good.
