This game is so fucking good, i'm honestly surprised it's not in people's 3x3s
quick rundown: >WvW is literal server warfare, 2000 vs 2000 vs 2000 where you can put on a commander tag and lead a crusade against your server's arch nemesis (everyone hates blackgate players fyi) >Storymode overworld is gorgeous. my personal favorite areas are the jungles but there are battlegrounds riddled with old siege equipment and makeshift encampments taken over by centaurs, icy wastelands ruled by a legendary frost dragon and his lieutenants, tropical peninsulas, underwater exploration, underground caverns to explore >huge ass world bosses and some creatures called "blood stone crazed beasts" which are essentially empowered unique monsters that can wipe entire mosh pits of people, the most notable are the dragons due to their fly by fire breathing attacks >fractals are mini-raids that challenge the player's skill and have their own unique stories of which there are a couple hundred >raids are what you would expect, challenging end game content that requires a shit load of grinding to be able to reach due to the player imposed requirement of needing ascended gear to get into most parties >frog people called hylek >the entire storyline revolves around protecting the world from 6 or so elder dragons, the first of which you fight in the main storyline is a dragon of death and decay who raises armies of undead abominations essentially making it a draconic necromancer. >there's a ranked pvp mode with standard bronze-master ranking >fucking quaggans
I'm absolutely in love with this game right now, the base game is free to play now and you only pay for the expansions. From what i understand they revamped a lot of the graphics, content and general feel of the game based on the old videos i looked up.
I'd give it a try if you're really looking for a good action combat game with tons of exploration and lore to uncover.
shame that the games fucking boring but nice shilling though
Hunter Powell
some chinese ip is using my account, im too lazy to get it back.
Jaxson Johnson
>2000 vs 2000 vs 2000 >Each map can only sustain around 500players total.
Ryan Parker
Your game is so fuckig bad I'd rather player Destiny 2
Carter Mitchell
You must be from an expensive shill company. Or maybe in-house.
I actually paid for this game, early, I loved GW1 but this game has nothing to do with GW1.
Shill elsewhere.
Blake Price
You will never get Sup Forums to like it. They all quit after one week, and haven't looked back despite all their complaints being fixed.
Christopher Cox
there is a story update tomorrow, there is one thread up made by most likely a /vg/ refugee
so yeah this is either a redditor or in house marketer
Alexander Wilson

Joseph Brown
>tfw reach lvl 80 in a few days >tfw too poor to buy the expansions and start playing the actual game with mounts and everything Well, it was fun while it lasted
Elijah Allen
This post was made by an Arenanet employee
Connor Torres
If only it was optimized and could run smoothly with more than 50 people grouped together.
Nolan Ward
Sup Forums doesnt like it because >controversial launch >ran by nexon >added a transsexual npc into a major city this is a petty argument >Rated T so story is dumbed down >also by shitty writers other than that, i always recommend the game to friends if they didnt like WoW or FFXIV because its the only innovative mmo i can think of. I also play it for adventuring but recently I found an old friend who got me into xiv.
Jose Garcia
So the shill is an in house mod as well? because i sure as fuck didn't delete my post...
John Roberts
Is level scaling still a part of that shit ? I still can't believe it was passed on as a plus that everything always scales with you. Getting new equipment is so lame because you know it's still going to take 3 seconds to kill a lv1 mosquito wether you're just starting or you're max level with the best equips.
Chase Lee
Sure thing, Anet marketer!
Camden Garcia
>people here unironically believe it's the same game as 5 years ago
Ryder Moore
is the engine updated to use multi-core CPUs? is it still direct x 9? >it is the same game as 5 years ago
Jaxon Walker
I was talking featurewise. Though the game did get a 64bit client a while ago

>WvW is literal server warfare, 2000 vs 2000 vs 2000 where you can put on a commander tag and lead a crusade against your server's arch nemesis (everyone hates blackgate players fyi) Wrong, you just follow some random commander and 20 other people into beating shit gates again and again, eventually find a group of enemies and then it's either one overpower the other or you just spend 20 minutes pirate shiping the other >Storymode overworld is gorgeous true >huge ass world bosses and some creatures called "blood stone crazed beasts" which are essentially empowered unique monsters that can wipe entire mosh pits of people World bosses suck and blood stone crazed beasts are just heal pools with no real challenge, it just needs the number >fractals are mini-raids that challenge the player's skill and have their own unique stories of which there are a couple hundred fractals are dungeons for elitist who have the illusion to be better than people who do regular dungeons in other MMOs >raids are what you would expect, challenging end game content that requires a shit load of grinding to be able to reach due to the player imposed requirement of needing ascended gear to get into most parties Raid are fun, useless elitism isn't, gw2 is one of the most casual game and also one with the most cancerous elitist community for high level content, for no valid reason >the entire storyline revolves around protecting the world from 6 or so elder dragons, the first of which you fight in the main storyline is a dragon of death and decay who raises armies of undead abominations essentially making it a draconic necromancer. The main plot is too simple, 6 elder dragons, each one of an element, how could it be more boring? Zaithan fight sucks too, huge disappointement for a decent build up, glad they went for something else in PoF >there's a ranked pvp mode with standard Pvp is fun but the community is cancerous
Thomas Wright
I played GW2 when it came out, OP is a lying faggot and probably an ANet employee
Benjamin Taylor
yeah same, I played ffxiv when it first came out and it fucking sucked dick. anyone who says otherwise is a square enix employee.
Charles Price
>>the entire storyline revolves around protecting the world from 6 or so elder dragons Don't forget to mention it's extremely easy to kill in the final mission. But seriously, I've 'played' GW2 since launch and it's an alright MMO only because most MMOs out right now are garbage.
>Story went from Elder Dragons to 'can't kill the dragons' to 'kill the rogue God to protect the Dragons'. >Choices barely matter at all outside of the main campaign >class balancing is a joke (necro main) >PvE is preciously easy overall >WvW is a zerg fest and always will be >Devs spend more time out lootbox skins than they do for ones you get in game. And you can't even get any mount skins ingame in the first place.
It's not a bad game, but I have no idea how anyone is in love with it unless you're still playing the original campaign.
Lincoln Morris
>each map can only sustain 500 players >there are four maps
And?
Charles Garcia
>glad they went for something else in PoF And they still messed it up. They gave no reason why the Gods left, why komir was last or Balthazar thinks destroying the gods will save the world. He's just a generic bad guy.
Eli Barnes
>They gave no reason why the Gods left they did, kormir state that any intervention of the gods would bring only more destruction especially to themselves
>why komir was last there's a journal of kormir where she states that she had a bit of hope and was hold back by her ex-human/ex-elonian feelings and that Lyssa was mocking her for that
>Balthazar thinks destroying the gods will save the world you clearly didn't understand the plot at all, balthazar want to destroy the gods to avenge himself, the dragons to get their powers and he doesn't care if the world is destroyed in the process, you're right tho, he's the most generic bad guy ever, power for power and "muh so cruel i kill everyone in my quest for power"
Bentley Edwards
>kormir state that any intervention of the gods would bring only more destruction especially to themselves Which is entirely valid, but they just up and leave. If they're so concerned with preventing destruction there's no reason why they couldn't have left messengers, avatars or somehow assist the races survive.
I didn't spend a ton of time in the library to be fair so that's probably why I didn't see the journal.
Liam Kelly
>If they're so concerned with preventing destruction there's no reason why they couldn't have left messengers They're not, not at all, only kormir is kinda concerned but not really, as she says, balthazar is our problem not their
It can't be both. They can't be concerned that their intervention would bring more destruction and not care. I mean I guess it could just make them really shitty gods, but throughout all of GW1 you never get that impression since they help you out at pretty much every point.
Brayden Turner
It really is
Justin Cooper
The game is so shit that every general is bombed by bots
Oliver Nelson
They're affraid to be taken within the destruction, they're not concerned with the fate of tyria, only their own, they preffer let the dragon do their stuff, or mortal, or whoever but them, that's why balthazar call them cowards in the first place
Jack Hill
Consider gitting gud at shilling there. Also the game is terrible.
Ian Williams
are we gonna pretend that all 4 maps are full at the same time ever?
Kayden Hughes
>2000 vs 2000 More like 50 v 50, or 20 v 20 after culling. And, like most content in GW2 it's shallow as fuck and just involves zerging and spamming 1-6 in basically any gear.
>overworld is gorgeous agreed.
>huge ass world bosses 11111111111111111111111111111111111 (this goes on for some time) 2 greens and 1 silver
>wipe entire mosh pits of people I've literally never seen a world boss wipe outside of that wurm boss (the harder one, I forget the name)
>fractals...that challenge the player's skill nothing more than a gear check. you have enough AR or you don't
>the entire storyline overrated considering it takes months for each episode to release. The episode is usually less than 1 hour and amounts to little more than a few scripted battles.
