Can this card still hold up to current year games or should I get a 1050 instead?

1050
Not at high setttings or anything like that.
Get a 1060 6gb or even 3 (if you must)
Going from a 750ti to a 1050 is a waste. It's barely any better. 1050 ti is not really that much of an upgrade either. Go for 1060 if you don't want to waste your money.
>Go for 1060 if you don't want to waste your money.
the irony
Prices are all fucked up right now. Going for a 1060 is fine all things considered.
1050 is garbage, pay extra and buy a 1060 6GB. Will last you a long while for 1080p
1060 3gb is the only card on the market which is worth it's price right now, that's how bad things are
You'll have to drop resolution/settings quite far to get a good framerate, but you won't encounter any games that refuse to work at all. So it just depends on how good you need/want it to look. If you aren't too fussy about quality, it will work just fine for the foreseeable future.
1050ti is the new 750ti
Boy am I happy I bought a 1070 before all the faggots got them for bit mining
Why the fuck are GPU prices still high? Isn't crypto spikes shitting all over miners?
at min get a 1050 ti for 1080p gaymen. 750 ti can play some bidya at 1080p, butit wont be very good.
anything below xxx60x on nvidia is shit
i dont know how the names work on amd, they the same shitty cards being rehashed since 2006 tough
A used 970 costs around 120 dollars in norway..
Because fuck you, that's why.
>3.5
>There are only several silicon plants in Taiwan doing all the world's hardware
>Apple and Samsung squatting 90% of them
>Enthusiast parts in great scarcity as result, creating artificial demand
Do someone want a GTX660ti for free?
Only if you're on Colombia
Don't get 1050. Get a 1060 6gb if you want 1080p 60fps for the foreseeable future.

>MEMES! MEMESMEMESMEMESMEMESMEMESMEMESMEMESMEMESMEMESMEMESMEMESMEMESMEMESMEMES KEK LOL
750ti is still a good card for modern games to be run on medium to low.
I just upgraded to a 1060 because it was 200 dollars, and I got a 5 year warranty, best investment i've made so far. I can play Arma 3 on high to ultra settings, and my CPU runs out of memory before my GPU even gets hot. Witcher 3 on high/ultra settings, and rainbow six on high settings.
1060 is a GREAT fucking card to stay hip and cool with the new kids but if you have the money a 1070 or a 1080ti arnt bad investments, so much as you have the money and wont break it like an idiot.
I've got a 2500k and 7970, do I get new CPU & GPU or do I just get a whole new build? What's the 6870/560ti of this generation? It's been a while since I've looked at any parts
When I built my PC a year ago I decided the 1050 to wasn't a good enough value and stepped it up to a RX470 4gb. Joke's on me because I only play 10 year old+ games... Maybe one day I'll get around to the Witcher 3
im using it still but i have a 1060 on its way
it's a tough card and ive been running games like Destiny 2 at around 45-60 still on low
it had a great run but i think the 1050 is the new heir to its legacy
Cant really run f4. ni oh or dark souls at 60 fps 720p, 1080p struggles to hold 30 fps. Other games run great ddda 60 fps 720p for example, guild wars 2, dead space 2 etc. Rule of thumb is, pre ps4 pto =720p 60 fps possible, post= 1080p 30 fps prefered since 60 fps in most cases unreachable
Just get a 1070 for your own good. It should last way longer than the other options and it can hold you off until the price of gpus go down.
Evga b stock you feg
>he lives in a country where 5 year warranties on electronics isn't the standard
1070 is like $200 more than 1060 6gb. There's no reason to get one right now. Once the cryptofuckery dies down and card prices drop down to normal again you can get a couple 1080s or whatever next generation card they make.
I have a 970 with a fancy 1440p 144hz monitor that is rarely used to its full potential because of the lack of power.
Should I get a 1080(ti?) or should I just wait for the next generation of nvidia video cards?
>Isn't crypto spikes shitting all over miners?
Turns out new cards handle the spikes just fine and if they don't then everyone jumps ship from Bitcoin to Etherium or whatever
You might as well wait until the 1180 or whatever in a couple months if you can buy a 1080 now.
Most of the 1080Ti's are overpriced. You can wait for the next generation or just get a 1080 if you're impatient.
Yes
May as well wait
Currently, the GTX 750ti performs the same as a GT 1030. If you can get the 4GB version of the GTX 1050ti for cheap, go for it, you don't need anything better to 1080p.
the 750 ti sucks maximum balls right now. if you're an uber poorfag the absolute absolute (see: absolute) minimum you should get for 1080p~60 is a 960 (or 380 if you don't mind housefire temps and as much power usage as a gtx 1070). the 960 at stock is only about 5-10% slower than a 1050 ti and when OC it reduces the gap to within like 2-3 fps on average.
if you do find a 960 it doesn't really matter if you get the 2gb or 4gb one as the gpu, just like the 1050 ti, is too weak to take full advantage of all that vram except for the odd 4k texture packs in some games. you'll be fine with the 2gb. the 960 can actually run games like gta 5 and pubg at over 60 fps at medium/high settings.
Why does no one suggest Radeon cards? I thought their mid range cards outperform Nvidia
good luck finding a rx 580 for cheap
1050 or step up to a 1060 6GB
1060 3GB actually gets worse results than 1050Ti in some newer titles because devs are just shitting all over cards with
what a bad advice
wow look at all this counter evidence to prove me wro-
fuck off
>buy 2GB vram card
>never ending stutter
don't be a faggot
assuming the 750 ti was used due to power limits the best you can get is 1050 Ti (which is fine)
there's actual testing that's been done to prove the 960 and 1050 ti are too weak to utilize a full 4gb of vram unless it's for 4k textures. 2gb for those cards is absolutely fine and there has never been any evidence which comprehensively proves that 2gb on a card like the 960 causes stuttering.
got a 1050ti 4gb for a steal, runs fucking everything
>Why does no one suggest Radeon cards?
Because we play vidyer here, not farmville
Miners bought them all.
All of them.
is it not worth it to pay extra for the 6gig version?
I've got an R9 380.
How am I actually holding up guys??
1050 ti can max many recent games and run almost everything even if you have to go to lowest settings
750 ti is very outclassed/useless at this point
I have a 1060 6gb. Works well for me.
xD
Don't reply to me or my posts eevr again, faggot
>get a meme 144hz monitor
>most games I play are gookanese games
>most of them are locked at 60fps
I'm playing Nioh right now. Fucking gooks.
how's a 1050ti for gta v?
>these poor fags without a 1080
Whats it like having shit cards you need to constantly replace instead of having something that will last
they said the same about the 980 last gen and it's barely faster than a gtx 1060 now. look at all those retards who bought the fury x for $650 claiming hbm and muh amd finewine will make it faster than 1070 yet it's slower than even an rx 580 in most games now
Speaking for this beautiful user.
I need to find a 1060 cheap, but they're all like 400 bucks what the fuck...
I got one and I can run most new games on medium to low settings. It's kind of surprising what stuff I can run
i'm still using a GTX 460M
help me
>how's a 1050ti
Like how you'd expect of a poorfag card
i still have intel hd graphics in my laptop. i can barely run bully scholarship edition at 30 fps 900p with no AA and shadows on low
>yet it's slower than even an rx 580 in most games now
Unless you run everything at 4k with max MSAA Fiji still sits just under the reference 1070 in everything but gameworks games (And AC origins which runs like arse on all none pascal GPU's), it was a shitty purchase for most but it ain't that bad.
Ehh, the cheapest 1060 6 GB is down to actual MSRP, so we're almost there.
But even then, the cheapest 3 GB 1060 is like $50 cheaper.
nope just get a 3gb and then buy in again when the next gen of cards are released.
even in the new wolfenstein game where amd gpu run really well to the point a vega 56 can match a gtx 1080, the fury x comes out 10 fps slower than an rx 580 with the minimums being 30 fps slower
Sauce?
Help as well.
I play Overwatch mainly cause I don't have time for many vidyagames. Should I get a 1060 3GB or 6GB?
I'm getting an i5 8600k for emulators cause that is a must for me.
DM just googled it, what the fuck is going on with Wolf 2? every 4 GB card is choking at 1080p medium, like all of them.
i can run skyim on high settings @ 30-45fps but that's about as good as it gets
>or dark souls at 60 fps 720p
Ehh, it can get close on high settings.
If you're fine with 30 FPS at 1080p the 750 Ti is enough for most games on console-tier settings.
youtu.be
Do not get the 3gb version you will be severely gimped in all future games. It doesn't matter what you play now just save up for the 6gb version.
I paid that for mine but I live in a third world country with huge taxes so I'm used to it.
Should've mentioned I do plan on playing Monster Hunter World as soon as it comes out.
Guess 6GB is the better choice, just gonna have to wait.
cryptofuckery isnt gonna die down lol its only gonna get worse
Wolf 2 runs like shit on less than 6 GB of VRAM unless you turn texture streaming down to medium.
My Fury runs the game at 1800p60 with everything on high/ultra just fine.
>be poorfag
>looking into 3rd gen i5 dell towers and 770s
At least I don't like AAA shit that actually needs new GPUs.
it has insane stuttering thanks to what i think is texture loading. This occurs every time one enters a new zone or just turns around which it doesnt when run at 30 fps. Wouldnt really bother with 60 fps
No, that's just the game's shit frame pacing, which is mainly an issue if you can't maintain 60 FPS, can't use AMD/Nvidia's driver-level FPS cap, or are playing on consoles.
I have GTX 960M on my laptop, and it performs almost equally to desktop GTX 750Ti. Basically, you can run anything on it somehow, but be prepared to lower down setting to very low, possibly even reducing rendering resolution with the newest games. It’s however OK for playing those lighter multiplayer games like Overwatch, RS: Siege etc.
But yeah, wouldn’t get it for a desktop anymore. Card like that may have enough power to work as a compromise solution to play vidya where you couldn’t play anything at all otherwise, but it sure would be disappointing in a main rig.
What is that, a crypto farm?
that is a server
This. It’s better than nothing, but it’s just not strong enogh to handle the newest and shiniest games without massive compromises to either visual quality or FPS. If you don’t like the idea of sub-1080p res or 30 FPS, better get something better.
get a fucking gtx 970, you dumb brainlet
>better get something better.
what would you recommend if i were to build a new rig
I'd go for a 1060 3 GB or 6 GB.
If you plan on playing only at 1080p and don't mind having to occasionally turn down textures a notch, go for the 3 GB, if you want high/max settings 1080p60 in most or all games, go for the 6 GB version.
the blue bars weren't needed in this graph
do they really save enough on energy/cooling costs to blast a hole in a rock like that? or do they just repurpose holes already dug up for other reasons?
Is there a list of cards ranked in performance or if not, what the hell do you look at when comparing cards?
1050 < 1060 < 1080
AMD need not apply
I was going to get a 1070 but I was only able to purchase an i5 7500 so it wouldve just bottlenecked
I have an apu a10 7860k. for 1080p gaming on mid to 1-2 high settings at 60fps, can 1050ti 4gb deliver
I'm no computer genius but I don't think a 1070 can even begin to bottleneck an i5 7500
Just no
it can. quad cores, whilst still decent performers, are becoming noticeably more and more outdated every year as more games are pushing for higher core counts. i have an overclocked haswell i5 which would probably put it around the 7500 performance. when i play some games i get 100% maxed out cpu on all 4 cores and games can hitch for me and i can see my 1070 utilization drop to the 30% range.
I'm running a Radeon RX 470, and performance-wise I'd say it's identical to the 1060.
However, it's AMD and there's hardware issues with mine that cause blue screens sometimes. Nvidia is the more reliable bet.
