Can some Halo nerd explain this shit to me?
>Neural Physics
>The Domain
>Reconciliation/Debt
Just go to the wiki
I did and it just made me more confused. I started this shit because I was confused about what the fuck the Domain is.
>Caring about Halo after Reach
How was the Ark supposed to work?
Like what keeps you from floating off of it into space? A halo ring spins, which keeps you held to the surface of it, but the Ark is just some weird shape sitting out in space.
Oh boy strap in
>neural physics
The precursors are so advanced due to existing 85 billion years before the universe bega they understand reality at such a deep level that they perceive the universe as a living entity and can use pure thought to create life, seed galaxies, move stars, etc.
>domain
The super internet created by the precursors and used by the forerunners. Contains the entire sum knowledge of the precursors' 100 billion years of existence by the forerunners can only access .0000000000001%. Supposedly destroyed by the halo effect but it is hinted that it is reforming.
>reconcilliation/debt
Some handwaved bullshit about how mass is transported through the galaxy via slipspace, so the more mass transported the longer it takes to reconcile thereby slowing transportation down for everything.
pre-343shit forerunner magic
Gravity my man, it's huge. That round chunk in the center is an earth sized planet that is strip mined to make more halos.
>caring about anything Bungie related after Halo 3
Can do
>Neural Physics
In the Halo universe, th universe itself is alive in a way. The Precursors, and later the flood, could manipulate this and make physical objects out of it.
>Domain
The Precursors used this as a way to store all data. It was mostly destroyed with all other neural physics items when the Halos fired.
Reach was good for tards that didn't read the books though, and I love ODST
Good for you
Faggot
Halo general now? Actually interested to discuss how you guys felt about Halo 5? I liked the multiplayer but the campaign and accompanying story were mediocre.
MP was fun.
>Faggot
I’m not the One triggered by non-Bungie Halo games. I’m going to blow your mind right now. All of the novels were made by Microsoft, while Joe Staten worked with them when he wrote Contact Harvest. The novels were always Microsoft since The Fall of Reach. Bungie went out of their way to try and kill the Halo books.
I like the mp but the sp was a mess.
*one
how the hell did the precursors get fucked by the forefaggots, then?
The multiplayer was solid. Nothing spectacular, but it was serviceable. They fucked it with the patch, however.
1) it was something new so they let it happen
2) they were awed by their creations' ferocity
They didn't give a shit and just let it happen because they were amazed by how vicious their creations were.
if they were cool with it why is the flood a thing? Or was that unintended?
Read the forerunner novels, none of that shit can be explained out of context in a satisfactory way.
ironic that the most vicious race of all viewed humanity so poorly. And that they thought they were worthy of the mantel after patricide. It's almost amusing how the nu-lore turned these benevolent gods into total shitheads
Unintended but they liked it
>unintended
Technically unintended, the Precursors dispersed themselves into dust expecting they would return to form but the dust got corrupted and the Precursors became the Flood. they then went on to continue what they started, wiping out the Forerunners for being failures that were unworthy to hold the mantle and to test Humanity for the mantle.
It reminds of what happened to the Chozo after the Chozo Memories in Metroid Samus Returns. You can never trust these benevolent god-like species.
Wait what happened with the chozo? Love me some metroid. Havent played metroid 2 remake yet. Dont care about spoilers.

Fan fiction
2d/10
See
this, everything from the forerunner books sounds stupid if somebody explains it to you or you read a summary, but if you actually read the novels it's handled super well.
I love how the entire forerunner novel triology is just a slow transition from sci-fi to cosmic horror
>a slow transition from sci-fi to cosmic horror
This desu. Silentium is one of my favorite books.
That was kind of a running theme with Halo to begin with. The Covenant worshipped the Halos as gateways to heaven when they were just bombs on a galactic scale. And the Covenant KNEW humanity was the rightful inheritors of forerunner tech but declared fatwah on them anyway because muh god muh power structure.
>microtransacrions day 1
Was he that they didnt get called out on this
>And the Covenant KNEW humanity was the rightful inheritors of forerunner tech
to be fair only the 3 high prophets knew that and they kept it a secret so it woudln't destroy their power
