I have a question.
Do the Trails of Cold Steel games recycle locations like Trails in the Sky does? It's pretty lame how TitS 2 and 3 have almost no jew locations. Feels almost as cheap, lazy, and Hannah-Barbera like as Neptunia.

To me, Sky 3 felt like a bonus post-game dungeon for Sky 2.
An incredibly well done bonus dungeon with some amazing boss fights and a really good story woven into it and sidequests that delve into everyone's backstory/future story.
It was really unique and amazing even if it reused assets.
I guess I play games for more than the scenery unlike you.

To answer your question though - yes, Sen reuses areas too. To a high degree.

I loved Trails in the Sky 3, actually, and I liked 2 as well (though it is definitely my least favorite of the trilogy).

I'm sorry. It came across like you were bothered by the lack of new locations when you called it cheap and lazy.

I think it's worth remembering that Falcom is not a big company with a huge budget.

It has new locations, namely Ymir and few military fortresses. Old locations also have some new areas to explore.

Apology accepted, user-kun. It does bother me to an extent, but not nearly enough to stop me from loving the games.

It's odd that Falcom has never struck it big. They've been releasing classic after classic since Ys 1 in 1987.

That's Zero which has a leaked 99% complete translation patch.
Ao is the sequel to Zero.

Both take place between Sky and Cold Steel and are required reading for Cold Steel 3.

CS2 recycles plenty of locations, CS3 none (even those you revisit are pretty much remade). Though i'd imagine CS4 would reuse some from CS3.

I'd argue Ao has more returning characters than zero does.

No the characters from Zero do flow into Ao, you can think of them as two parts of one story. Everyone who you play as in Zero is playable in Ao and then more.

As for Sky cast in Crossbell you only get Estelle and Josh in your party. Certain other characters are important to the story like Renne, Cassius, Kevin, Lechter and Kilika to name a few

I don't know if I'd call it Sky 4. It wraps up certain unfinished business in 3 but so does Cold Steel. 3 started a lot of plot lines without making it to obvious that it did. 3 also ended a lot of plot lines.
Zero/Ao definitely have their own story with it's own cast and location.
