Sylvanas was barely used, even in Wrath. It's more likely they were developing Cata in parallel and made the models because the dragon aspects were actually going to play a major role across an entire expansion. Probably slapped it on Sylvanas just for the final content patch of Wrath due to convenient timing more than anything.

HOTS view angle is slightly more top down than 3/4ths. Skinny champions would be near invisible which is why everyone is thick. If it was a more horizontal view the characters would be taller and relatively slimmer.
