I haven't played the first game but I played Xenoblade Chronichles X and it didn't do much for me. I don't know exactly why it didn't resonate with me cause I love JRPGs but I just couldn't get invested in the world or the story. The combat didn't really seem that fun either. I only played around 8 hours and since it's a super long game I know that's probably not much of the overall product but I just couldn't motivate myself to keep going. So that's why I'm not hyped for this new one.
