So Final Fantasy XV was 20 bucks during Blacl Friday sales and I FINALLY decided to pick it up even though I figured it was a garbage boy band simulator for all the time its been in development and released
But... it's actually comfy as fug. The exploration, the battles, most importantly being with your friends and doing stuff, even though the dialogue is cringey, but in a funny way.
Anyone else feel this way? Is there anything I should know or do before I go too deep, I've played around 6 hours so far and about to go to Altissa.
And I hope Prompto doesn't die, the little fag has grown on me
he discovers that he was created in a lab and has a identity crisis for 5 minutes.
Benjamin Lee
it gets shit at the end of game
Christopher Bennett
the first half of XV honestly isn't that bad. But boy when it gets bad it gets really fucking bad
Ethan Diaz
yeah bro you will never go to town with your friends to check out your fiances wedding dress
comfy....
Jaxon Cook
Wut
Damn. Didn't they fix some garbage late game chapter, like completely remade it?
Cooper Lee
no kidding, that happens in the game.
Sebastian Robinson
> I've played around 6 hours so far and about to go to Altissa Gonna be a short game for you, bro.
Alexander Rogers
The version of the game your playing is different from what people who played day one played. Literally new cutscenes and restructuring late chapters so you weren't fucking confused and frustrated with what was happening in game.
James Evans
I just looked it up and i'm still in chapter 1
Liam Morales
Oh, then never mind. I thought that you had actually blitzed yourself super fast to later parts of the game.
Matthew Kelly
Just play it and form your own opinion. Don't let these cucks decide what you're not supposed to like for you.
Cooper Sanders
Your expectations were lowered, you didn't pay full price, and you didn't beat it before any significant QoL updates were added. I'm pretty envious for people who are going to play it for the first time a year from now with all the content at $20. I played it for 60 hours and probably won't play it ever again. I enjoyed it, but it was a little too Ubisoft for me.
Daniel Martinez
-Camp at each camp site (you will occasionally get squad side quests that are actually good/okay) Explore side dungeons, there are a few and most are fun -Skip side quests from Dino, Frog lady, Fat man, and hunter guy (there are some other shitty ones that I can't remember). they make you do the same shitty quests over and over and the quest locations are commonly on the other side of the map so you either fast travel or get super sick of driving. They offer no world building and the game would be better without them. -Hunts are okay to spend some time on because there are some cool enemy types and they are almost always close by. -Playing with wait mode lets you scan enemy weaknesses and adds a little bit more strategy to the combat
Bentley Gomez
Don't you get a ribbon from frog lady though?
Luke Sanchez
I stumbled upon a dungeon and ran into some level 52 Alucard/Count Dracula looking dude. I got the fuck up out there quick, but going through the dungeon was cool.
Colton Hill
Levels don't matter as much as stats do. If you're equipped with the right gear you can smash a higher level enemy really easily. Try and get the extra accessory slots as fast as possible and when you're fighting something that's weak to one of your weapons you can just throw all the weapons that improve your strength stat onto the other slots and ignore them so you can boost your damage as much as possible. Of course, make sure you eat food that boosts your strength and vit so your party can hit harder and die less.
Isaiah Powell
>So Final Fantasy XV was 20 bucks during Blacl Friday sales and I FINALLY decided to pick it up even though I figured it was a garbage boy band simulator for all the time its been in development and released I don't understand this logic. You think its going to be bad so you decide to use what limited time you have on this planet to devote to something you believe you will dislike.
Asher Powell
But it was _on sale_.
Adrian Robinson
HDR and the smoother framerate updates also influenced my decision. Game looks nice
Wyatt Peterson
Oh yeah, what the flying fuck is that DOOM guy suit in my inventory?? Should i be using it?
William Barnes
I actually spent most of my time in this game just doing the fishing mini game and the monster fight gambling.
That shit was comfy as fuck.
Andrew Brooks
this. i would just cruise around with the bros and not really pay attention to the actual story or anything. play some mini games. camp at various places or go stay at a hotel after a long day hunting. it's super comfy and that aspect is severely underrated by Sup Forums
Bentley Allen
About that. I like fishing but the description for Monster of the Deep makes it sound like VR is actually required for it rather than optional. Not that I can't believe S-E would be that stupid, but is that actually the case?
Wyatt Gomez
If you care about spoilers you should probably leave this thread immediately and not talk about it on the internet until you beat it. There were several moments I really wish I didn't already know what was coming.
I spent way too long in that monster fight gambling arena. Like, an in-game week.
Ian Foster
And the start and middle
Blake Carter
The beginning to middle of the game is okay. The end is just AWFUL. I also didn't give a shit about any character except Ignis and Prompto. Everyone else just felt boring, even Noctis.
I'm sure that by now the game has been patched to hell, so that it's pretty decent. Especially since they are adding the ability to switch characters in December, which everyone wanted for a long time.
Jayden Mitchell
yeah and it doesn't even matter. He doesn't act differently. It's completely pointless.
Brody Williams
Switch characters? Wtf, but isn't Noctic the only one who can warp?
Now i have to wait until that patch to continue.
Robert Rodriguez
Everyone has a gimmick to help them survive in combat, so it won't be a big issue. I'm sure you'll be able to switch on the fly anyway.
Cooper Gonzalez
>Don't you get a ribbon from frog lady though? Probably, I don't remember The frog lady is the best out of those bad side quests I listed because listening for frog croaks was at least different and it seemed like a hommage to FF9. What it suffered from was that the player is asked to do it too many times, shit gets boring and isn't worth it no matter the prize.
What is stupid is that I actually had fun doing the dumb sidequests in the chocobo carnival, chasing those baby chocobos and answering moogle questions was at least something different. The main game would've benefited from stuff like that.
I still believe the game should include the carnival in the main story as a dream before Luna dies (spoilers for op even though it's really obvious what the spoiler is about). Going through this carnival with Luna (instead of carbuncle) would be easier for the devs to make and would give the player more time to spend with Luna to learn about and feel for her character. Also the fireworks would make for a romantic ending.
Luke Brown
They showed off character switching in the latest ATR, looks pretty neat.
Wait a second. You're telling me this goddess from Kingsglaive is the same Luna as that ugly cunt in 15?
Camden King
Yes, also that guy from kingsglaive would have made a better mc than sasuke.
Hudson Howard
it falls into the trap that most open world games do by being really fun at first, but then eventually getting stale because it starts becoming a chore. a little less of a chore than other open world games because it doesn't have stupid shit like radio towers or being a collectathon. but it's side quests are all uninspired fetch quests and hunting missions
the worst is the game doesn't even have the decency to commit to being open world since it turns into being a half-assed linear one halfway through.
not to mention the script is a mess
its not the most disappointing game ever made, but so many little problems that could be fixed
Austin Torres
Kino posting is welcome
Kayden Ward
Can we at least fuck Cindy?
Nathan Garcia
>than sasuke. There is literally nothing "sasuke" about Noctis except the hair.
I bought it day one, deluxe edition. I still play it. I really liked it. But it has some big flaws, like how the story is told and some minor combat mechanics that aren't that good. But the exploration is fun. Chocobos have never been this great. The car can suck my dick. The flying car is cool, actually
Overall, I really enjoyed this game. But I hope this doesn't become the staple for newer Final Fantasies.
Also, Ignis is best character. But the four guys are pretty cool.
Jaxon Cruz
Nope. They were dead set on the terrible Luna x Noctis romance.
Jace Jenkins
>the battles This is where I had the biggest problem with the game. My second problem was the story. I beat the game around launch and I never want to play it again.
Ian Moore
I never used it personally, but I think it's a literal god-mode invincibility thing. You don't really need it anyway because of the availability/spammability of healing items.
Asher Smith
I always groan when people say Final Fantasy, as a series, should just die already and it's past it's prime, when FFXV showcased some great features that could really benefit the future of the series. FFXV was a mess, but I want to see some of it's greatest accomplishments in future installments.
Ayden Ward
t.Sasuke
Wyatt Evans
Have fun with OP Glad you like it :3 Also: Iggy is best boy.
Xavier Richardson
t.Naruto Just fuck already.
Brody Butler
Why does Ignis have that ridiculous accent. He sounds like a 50 year old english wine collector
Christian Cox
>this character design Holy shit
Jonathan Brooks
Prompto exists to be dominated by the rest of the group
Hunter Wilson
He's from a different place area than the other 3. Noct and Gladio get away with not having an accent because they went to public school/were with commoners from an early age. Both their parents still have accents.
No, I'm not kidding, this the answer that was given.
From a different XV thing: >Ignis has a composed, serious, and cool personality to contrast Gladiolus and Prompto. Ignis has been friends with Noctis since early childhood. He received a special education for gifted children to work as a staff officer for Noctis and acts as the understanding consultant for him. He is from a different region than the others, and thus has a different accent.
Though according to Ignis' VA, Ignis is Lucian so the accent is probably from the fact that he was in court from a very young age. But who knows for sure at this point.
