it might be better to ask, what didn't?

needs decent mods

The dialouge system trying rip off Bioware and old CRPGS.

The big thing for me is they took out the main reason I played Fallout, the meaningful choices.

Main player voice acting was a massive mistake.

This, voice acting pretty much killed it being a fallout game at all.

It's basically just an fps game.

Ok, what didn't go wrong?

When I replay games I like to pick characters from other shit and try to recreate them. I made Roland from The Dark Tower and it's fun wandering around shooting heads off with my revolver, but every time I get in a conversation the shitty voice acting just ruins it. The dude is just so whiny and petulant.

Paid mods.

>meaningful choices.

A was always going to B whether you chose it or not. What you did in the middle gave you the illusion of choice. All Fallout games are this way.

not in 1 and 2

shit quests
no interesting locations
voiced protagonist
bad dialogue system
we want the mincraft audience
only two towns that aren't settlements
pipe weapons

bethesda

i torrented it the first week. for me, the first thing I noticed is how lazy they were with the radio. it was the first thing I modded. I won't even go into detail how pissed off and mad I was. fuck those lazy piece of shits. game is unplayable without a min 15 mods. 100% fact

so long fags. not getting a reply from me.

Yea I honestly don't know what beth was thinking with a voice protag.

If TESVI has a voice acted MC I'm quitting bethesda.

Todd said that the voiced MC was a mistake.

i agree, this killed my immersion too.

FO4 is the good FPS FO game though. i mean you are comparing it to 3 and NV, which... yeah. just lol.

Todd admitted the voiced protagonist was a bad idea

TES 6 is still going to have a voiced protag you watch

Like ebery other sane person, I know it was the voiced protag.

Obsidrones will complain about random things in an attempt tp make tge entire game sound shit, and eben though they do say some correct things, they always have something that gives them away.

>dialogue
>settlement building

>random shit
???

Doubt it, there are multiple races in ES and you can pick gender which would be a lot of work just to have voice acting in a series that really wouldn't benefit from it at all.

giving the protag a voice. it removed the roleplaying element that previous games had.

>he can't tell what the give-away was
Obsidrone

Bethesda

Wouldn't matter
>make yourself black in Fo4
>same voice

>argonian character with a nord's voice

ya what the fuck is that about? does everything in its power to kill the immersion when you are a black character who sounds like a lame whiteguy

I thought it was a fun to run around and explore the world and build comfy bases.

Beth should focus on exploring a game world and having basic combat. They can't make RPG's anymore and should stop trying to.

Bethesda doesn't know how to write or understand role-playing.

its horribly optimized for the pc. most likely because todd hates pc modders

It was more of the same when the technology should've made a visible jump like Oblivion to Skyrim.

or just make RPGs like they used to if you took skyrim and put in morrowind's leveling and stats then added a dodge button it would be 50 percent improved

>radio
was a way bigger selection than new vegas, but you're not wrong.

>another settlement needs your help

Hate newspapers

Power armor was the only reason i played the game. I havent played it since launch week and i doubt i ever will unless NV gets ported seamlessly into it, but if theres one thing beth did right, it was power armor.

I also liked the world design. Dungeons or interiors notwithstanding, i liked that they finally did a downtown setting well, and i especially liked that lots of the irradiated crater was explorable beyond the borders of the pipboy, discovering that missle silo completely by accident as well ad wandering around in worn out PA and avoiding death claws was very atmospheric and i really felt like i was at the edge of the world.

NEWSPAPER

I am curious, as shitty as fallout 4 was, the VR version looks like it will be pretty fun at least in a mindless kinda way

The quests suck
settlements stop being fun after you build up one or two
dialogue choices barely matter
all the factions are fucking stupid
weapon and armor crafting suck
the 'legendary' weapons and armors are stupid and break the game balance
got rid of the skill system and made most of the perks boring damage% increase bullshit

They took skyrim, slapped a new coat of paint on it, simplified the gameplay some more and then added some popular mods into it because they know people are going to rely on modders to give the game actual depth.
Still haven't seen any mods that unfuck enough of the game to make it worth bothering with

Whoever keeps using gamebryo for these games needs to be brought out to the desert and shot

That isn't the direction Beth has been going.

always time for a nice hard uturn though

>Obsidrones
not a thing
obsidian went to town and earned the love of their followers, it's only the bethfags that are drones.

Each of their games sell better than the last one, there is no reason for them to stop doing what they're doing. Although hopefully the mixed reception to Fallout 4 will be a wake up call.

anybody else feel like the settlement-building would have been better if there were fewer locations?
if there were, say, five, I could have probably managed to keep them all happy and even have built something neat at all of them, but since they're like 50 of them it feels really pointless.
on my second playthrough I just left Preston Garvey in the building you meet him in so he wouldn't keep sending me to new ones.

...

Too many questions and not enough answers.

Nothing it's a fun game I can rain down artillery like a god and build my own NCR type empire.
