Splatoon 2 got an 83 yet it's the best and best selling new IP in at least a decade. I wouldn't worry too much about Xenoblade getting around the same score. It should be obvious but western critics don't generally like an anime art style.

Because it was a niche game which didn't get a localization for years, so the critics who reviewed it were actually interested in the genre. A lot of these reviewers don't like JRPGs and hate anime.
