because I've never heard of it

Lootboxex

Bioware is dead

180 GB

>Dragon Age Inquisition
>Mass Effect Andromeda
I wish I knew

I honestly think it looks really cool but >bioware.

This + it looks like a warframe/ destiny clone

>EA
>Modern Bioware

Because that title usually goes for a game that is most anticipated

>Destiny with EA lootboxes
no

i will seriously be surprised if this breaks 1 million copies

>Bioware

>Bioware
>EA

?????

>EA
>Bioware

PIKAUSE

Visceral in 2017
Bioware in 2018

I'M ONLY HUMAN AFTER ALL

I know someone working on this.

Apparently it has a lot of potential, but Frostbite Engine's node-based structure designed specifically for battlefield makes it an absolute fucking shitshow to make functional, because it's unironically on the same tier as game maker drag and drop where you need to go harass another department if you want a node made so you can drag and drop it.

Could be fun, but it WILL be a broken buggy mess on launch because of the engine. Mark my words.

The madman did it again, they're actually taking the FPS engine frostbite to make an action ""RPG"" once again like they did with andromeda.

Full jew i tell you what.

I'm actually interested in this since it's being made by the non-shitty bioware team.
Too bad they will probably fuck it up as well.
I wish I could just play a good mass-effect esque game

>Made by bioware
>A lot borrowed from Destiny
>Will likely be boring and repetitive open world grindfest shit like the division
>They will shove lootboxes up the ass because it fits this game genre.

It will be shit. Pure complete shit.

I expect anything Bioware to fail more than I expect Capcom's games to. Then again, I may be biased because of that new mon hun, and the fact that I personally enjoyed Capcom's glory days far more than Bioware.

>Frostbite

I think any game that's ridden with microtransactions should be $20 at an absolute maximum on the basis that time spent unlocking the content is now nerfed into an IRL cash gambling minigame.

>but user some of those games DO offer chance to unlock by playing

Sure, SOME do. Also, that doesn't count when it is seasonal content that becomes unavailable, and the """"unlockables""" aren't gained by anything other than sinking absurd amounts of time, and then purchasing with in-game currency.

After coming from an era where one could unlock an extra character for beating a game, I've gotta say that the current model for video games feels like an empty soulless husk.

>EA game
lol

What's wrong with frostbite

I haven't seen anyone mention this game but I'm excited.

>Destiny: EA Edition
Hopefully it's because people are starting to smarten the fuck up

Because BioWare announced they were making a Destiny clone when there is literally nobody is asking for one.

yet another destiny clone wow so hyped
Really tho, why did they spent their time making this instead of working on mass effect?
Why EA rushed development of ME3 but gave bioware interns 5 years to make andromeda?
It's so fucking frustrating god dammit

because it looks like shit...

PETE... PLS... I KEEP ASKING BUT YOU DON'T DELIVER.

KILL ME.

>Anticipated
>EA-Biowhore game
It's impossible. That developer and that publisher have produced nothing but disappointment and shit for years and years, what's there to anticipate other than more disappointment and shit?

The Destiny-playing normies at my work are excited about this crap and keep showing me videos in an attempt to get me "hyped".

Can't expect better from normalfags, they're the entire reason EA and similar companies are still in business, so the marketing must clearly be working.

See... It's bad for animation, it requires characters to use a talk algorithm for facial expressions and mouths. That's why Andromeda's characters looked so dead. This kills immersion in RPGs.

It fumbles with RPG mechanics, both in creating quest variation and allowing for long running consequences for branching paths. It's better for single and multiple objective mission structure but lacks dynamic changes if a player chooses alternate paths, making missions feel like A to B, or A to B and C instead of A to B but if they meet X conditions, go to C, D and if they meet Y conditions, go to E. That might be confusing but read it a few times, it'll click.

The frostbite engine is basically a pretty engine for rich PCfatties to gawk over visually but it's awful for games with any sort of deep mechanics.

Need proof? Look at ME: Andromeda and Dragon Age: Inquisition.

I'll probably grab the complete edition when it's around 20 bucks because the world looks neat and jetpacking around everywhere and through the water looks fun

>bioshit

>EA
>nu bioware
>generic sci fi setting
>generic shitty ass third person shooter gameplay
>generic destiny rip off
gee I wonder, fuck off shill

But animations in that E3 trailer looked amazing...

It's obviously an engine made for the token shit 4-6h FPS campaign in otherwise MP-oriented games. If the engine design wasn't flexible enough, they have no business making RPGs in it. I'm sure DICE made it for their own shit, then some brain-challenged suit decided it should be used for everything because it's in-house and makes pretty pixels.

Bioware is dogshit anyway, their games are crap for reasons far beyond the engine.

This looks like she just took a massive shit.

It looks promising but they have shown nothing since E3, as such there is nothing to anticipate.

>but [insert thing] in the trailer looked amazing

are you new to video games? literally every single AAA title uses pre-rendered trailers to increase hype, and then the actual game looks like complete dogshit compared to it

this isn't anything new. never trust trailers.

also
>EA

>made by bioware post-DA:I and ME:A
>EA
>nothing new just a blatant response to destiny-type games

>Bioware is so bankrupt of ideas they need to steal Eurojank
They're next on EA's chopping block. And I bet after an ass beating from the Mouse it's really making them want to blow off some steam with the usual murder.

Never trust a trailer to be reflective of what a game will be. If you've been gaming for more than a few years, at least long enough to see trailers and play the actual product, you should know this.

Bioware is making an MMO shooter by it around loot boxes and microtransactions. What could pawsibly go wrong?

Because the function of EA is to extract as many moneys from dumb cattle as possible. This game will be built around the lootbox-mechanic and therefore will have a way higher expected ROI than anything Mass Effect -related. That's why it's the expected golden child AND goose of the zombie of BioWare and way, way more important.

I'll keep the same character in my picture for consistency.

According to the guy I know at Bioware Edmonton, the trailer was legit and not entirely just bullshots, but it was also extremely scripted and programmed to do exactly what had to be done with the nodes and whatnot.

Making a scripted sequence in Frostbite is incredibly simple, but making an open-ended RPG is absolutely fucking terrible due to how rigid and inflexible it is, on top of how difficult it is to implement system specific to the genre.

Wonder why the trailer either had everyone in first person or hid people in mechs?

It's because it's like says. It's meant entirely for FPS games that look pretty, not for third-person games heavy on dialogue. It can look good up close in first person, or good when everyone's in heavy armor like Battlefront, but man it looks terrible when people are just people in third person, and why?

Because it literally wasn't built to do that, but retards at EA are forcing it down everyone's throat.

Is he yawning or laughing? Works either way I guess.

EA never downgrades tho

>seeing almost nothing about the game
>Trusting that a Destiny Clone made by -EA will be even fun to play
...
There is nothing to look forward.

>According to the guy I know at Bioware Edmonton

thread over guys, my dad at nintendo told me this is a shill thread

S H I L L T H R E A D

Is there any reason of why they want to force everybody to use the engine?
To justify having it? Don't pay for other engines? Just pure ego?

>Shill casts Misdirection Maneuver Level 2
>Its not very effective...

>EA
>Bioware's good games were basically Baldur's Gate and MDK2

...

>more EA garbage
into the trash it goes

>Andromeda 2

It costs EA no money to use in-house engines.

im not even sure how that relate at all to "shilling"?

I guess they prefer having broken products than spending money.

>I guess they prefer having broken products than spending money.
Sounds like most American corporations ever.

lol

I have to live in fucking alberta, man. At least let me reap the one benefit of having to speak to people from alberta.

1. As said, it's free.
2. It looks pretty and does environments well, which helps them sell to graphicsfags.

EA doesn't care about quality. They care about having a game that looks pretty in demos and trailers to dazzle kiddies and casuals while saving as much money as possible

>It's a looter
>It's a shooter
>It's an always online game
>It's a game as a service
>It's publisher by EA
>It's developed by Bioware
>It's just inferior to Monster Hunter

>Why isn't it up for Most Anticipated Game?
because it's probably just another loot box gambler's opiate that won't give more than 10% of its [shallow] content for its US$100 buy-in price tag

Well, im keeping pyra company, screw EA
BIoware is truly dead

Because their bs trailer had /loot boxes/ in it.

>>Destiny with EA lootboxes
don't forget
>bioware gameplay
>nu-bioware writing
>3rd person over the shoulder shooting

Looks like something I wouldn't play, so I won't. Also
>Bioware/EA

come on, I've had almost a half decade to develop a distaste. They'd have to something really spectacular for me to give a fuck again.

Bungie lied and throttled the exp since launch,
Anthem is nu bioware but they might outsell D2 based on bungie fuck up

Why even bring up MH? This game isn't trying to be anything like MH.

stop spilling beans that were not intended to be spill user

Cause it will look like shit on release and be full of lootboxes. There's literally zero reason to be hyped for video games.

Fine, fine. It's not like anyone will believe my beans anyway, knowing how many people come in here claiming to have friends in the industry.

Last thing I'll say is just please don't be surprised if the gameplay ends up janky as shit.

Coding for this game is a mess of people slapping down quick fix after quick fox because the gameplay coders can't actually code a feature themselves because Frostbite doesn't allow it.

Now i am interested in this to know how much they gonna fuck up to top his battlefront 2 fiasco

The major marketing push for Anthem hasn't begun yet and the game is a pretty distant release.

Has any gameplay been shown since E3?

The flying seemed cool and I love the highly-vertical world it seems to have, but for me it'll have to prove itself to be different from a lot of Western shooters in some key ways, especially for an MMO. Good boss battles, party play not making the difficulty trivial, "dungeons" don't feel samey. And they better make some good use of that flying too, I wanna see aerial bosses and races and obstacles and all that jazz, not just a pretty world to zoom around in and shoot down enemies that are physically inferior to me in every way besides HP.

The fact they didn't choose to showcase any interesting combat or making the most of the ability to fly, makes me not have a lotta faith in it from the start. It seems like a bit of a generic "safely"-designed AAA game to appeal to the undiscerning masses. I'll gladly watch some more gameplay videos to learn more about it though, if it's turning out better than I expect.

literally fucking no updates

EA.
It will have loot boxes, i can bet on it
