This gives a whole new meaning to "buy now, it's going to the moon!"

ops pic disturbingly reloted

Its dumb but you really dont even have to buy land for it to be yours. Just find a spot, say its yours and kill intruders. Its sandbox so anything is up for grabs

Why isn't this game receiving more shit than EA? If you can even call it a game

>just you wait until i sell those lands at inflated prices when the game gets released

oh shit, thank op. i take advantage of!!

Have you been on Sup Forums or any other internet forum these past 5 years?

are you assuming the game will be released someday?

I bet life is deeply depressing for Star Citizen fans.

Can you reach the bottom of the page?
90% of anons get this wrong!

It was worth it. I finally know which ship to buy.

You have to buy it all now.
All I say! That's your reward for making it to the bottom of the page.

>>I'm a person on disability...
>my tax dollars are indirectly funding Star Citizen

It's not a piece of moon, it's the promise of a piece of moon in the promise of a game.

This picture is an amazing work of art.

so you mean.. that all those yfw never fell for the scam citizen meme.. are wrong and we all indirectly fell for it? WOAH

>falling for No Man's Sky tier promises

They'll probably just say they are broke at some point and "here's what we got". A piece of shit unfinished game.

>Just find a spot, say its yours and kill intruders.
Can't kill them if they spent real money to buy dreadnoughts in advance and nuke you from orbit.

This is the fundamental problem with SC, if it ever actually gets released it will be an awful P2W fuckfest because of all the "extras" they've sold over the years.

You're so accurate it's scary.

yep, bought $500 worth of land. It's worth it to get on the ground floor of a game like this.

don´t forget the ingame shop with all the cool extras you can buy when the game will be released. Just to milk even more money.
It´s going to be a great game!

Wow! Pay2Win before it it even released!

Is this the equivalent of preordering microtransactions?

...

It's actualy a gamble because we don't even know how well the ships will be ingame. So it's like pre-ordering lootboxes. AND they expire since your insurance only goes so far.

So you're paying for early access to a product that's random that will also expire. And you're paying 45k for it.

DOG BLESS AMERIGA :DDD

Its shitty but I'm jealous as fuck, I wish I could scam people this easy and make bank.

Not only is it preordering microtransactions, it's preordering P2W microtransactions with an expiration date in an early access crowdfunded MMO.

It's beautiful.

I'm sure we can go deeper in the future

Won't the game also have a sub fee?

Hmm I wonder whomsteth they added this feature for?

I agree with OP that this is bullshit and SC is pretty bullshit too, however
>Can't kill them if they spent real money to buy dreadnoughts in advance and nuke you from orbit.
This is not INHERENTLY true, though I assume it will be in Shekel Citizen. But it's perfectly possible to have solid gameplay mechanics where the advantage of money is not remotely absolute. Though I dropped it back in 2011ish, I played EVE Online for a good long while and all of us pirates/pvpers LOVED IT when some IRL richfag tried to buy their way right into top spot because they were always delicious, happy piñatas of treasure and tears. In EVE bigger ships were certainly more expensive and rare ships were MUCH more expensive, but bigger ships do not tend to do well (or do anything) against smaller ships, particularly if badly fit. And gains for 10x the money/time were often like +10% maybe, if you really knew what you were doing they could provide some razor edge (at immense cost risk obviously) 1v1 or 1v-multiple PvEers in the right situation, but everything had hard counters and would not stand against a bunch of good pvp friends showing up even if they were all in rust bucket cheap shit. The real challenge against IRL spender retards was killing them before word could get out and a swarm of hungry pirates descended to fight you for the loot.

From everything I've heard SC is much, much more carebear oriented then EVE. Almost out of necessity at this point really, it's so large cost-wise economics push it to be much more generic. People will bitch endlessly about a REAL sandbox experience, which is niche. And fundamentally it's also tiny in scale, it doesn't have the zero-instance-single-universe thing, there are maximum numbers of people in a given area.

Still, I'm just saying that IRL spend (which will always happen even if it's not usually the dev being such fags about it, gold farmers will forever be a thing) doesn't necessarily fuck things up in a decent game.

Nono, they promised us single player and local LAN private servers too! So you'll surely be able to play the complete game for nothing!!!*
*estimated release date 2039. All dates are estimates and subject to delay.

>local LAN private servers
I don't know what would be more sad, if this didn't happen and they were simply liars, or if this DID happen and all the fucks who spent thousands on ships completely wasted their money since you can just get them all through the in-game console locally anyway.

>I don't know what would be more sad, if this didn't happen and they were simply liars,
Since that really was a promise right from the start, "simply lying" would in fact get them sued for real (even if death by a thousand cuts, I only put in $40 on the original funder and have written it off, but I'd still calculate a 2% compounding annual rate of return, my filing costs, and take them to small claims court). The actual sad likely thing is
A) delayed basically forever
-and/or-
B) it barely ticks the box for the feature but is effectively unusable it's so buggy and never gets updates ever again.
>or if this DID happen and all the fucks who spent thousands on ships completely wasted their money since you can just get them all through the in-game console locally anyway.
Obviously the faggots paid to be able to use them against other people in the MMO part. Probably plenty of normies will give it a spin for a few months so they'll have some use for them >implying it'll ever come out

I spent about $280 on SC and have been perfectly happy with their progress.

>I spent about $280 on SC and have been perfectly happy with their progress.

wow guys at least mr. roberts is *trying* to do something ambitious. Sup Forums loves to bitch about aaa. but then some indy aims for the stars and they tare it down!

...

You know whats funny? Not even EA, Activision, Disney, Konami or whatever other kind of big publisher is as scummy as CIG. They may have god awful micro-transactions in their games but atleast they promise a product and put it out and don't make completely empty promises like "the game will be fully released by the end of 2014" then delay it to much with feature creep that the game hasn't even reached 3.0 alpha release yet.
