Just looked it up on youtube, the animations are so fluid, what a shame. Can definitely see a load of clueless kids picking it up because of that awesome looking robot though
The worst part are the hideous controls and the fact I could only ever figure out how to do punches. This is one game AVGN should review.
Was originally a PC game, it's just as terrible there, too. Sold itself entirely on the graphics.
Only good part was the one track that dude from Queen did, and even then it was incredibly average
2/10, I replied
This game is just pure frustration.
>locked out of side quests
No you can’t? Only the Emil ending is locked
Why?
...
for the rest of the playthrough you can get locked out of it (until you can access chapter select), and you can get locked out of Emil's ending
>looks like shit
>plays like shit
>characters are shit
It was good for being a tech demo at a time where tech demos weren't really mainstream, I kinda enjoyed for that
Fuck yeah, this was my first and only fighting game for ages until i got soul calibur the ps2.
Even as a kid who would eat up anything this one felt off
I had this for the Amiga 1200, best I can remember, it came on 9 disks, which was two more than Monkey Island. Also, it was possible to win with one move (it was either the headbutt or the jumping kick the Cyborg did) because it pushed you back out of range of the robot you were fighting so they couldn't hit you back.
Also, in multiplayer, player one was always the cyborg.
Funnily enough Rise of the Robots was once on the cover of Game Players
Terrible boards
Terrible mini-games
Terrible ending
The difficulty was off the fucking chain, fuck this game. Only good thing was maybe a couple of music tracks.
i liked how the main villian was just a naked lady.back when i first got it, that definitely provided me with some jack pleasure, if you know what I'm saying
THIS MOTHERFUCKER
I don't know what I was thinking.
Yo
What the fuck, is it worse?
Yes
DBZ:Legacy of Goku
VTM:Bloodlines
KotR2
Daggerfall
Fallout 2 and 3
The Sims Medieval for phone
Dorf Fortress
Pokemon games beyond gen II with the exception of leaf green and fire red
there's more but who cares.
None of you ever played a game this bad.
I think I pirated the dreamcast version for some god forsaken reason.
is it worse than the movie? i actually liked the first flintstones live aciton movie but viva rock vegas sucked dino turds.
this is probably the worst officially rated game I've ever played
It was pretty fun though.
I was one of those kids.
When I was young and illiterate I refered to Rise of the Robots as "The Invisible Man" (I have no idea why). Coincidentally enough, Brian May, who the game proclaims proudly is responsible for the music also has a song called "The Invisible Man" which I didn't find out about until many years later. end of blog post
Why was it fun if it was so bad?
I have the MegaDrive version and I even though I know its a bad game, I just love the whole concept of it. I have good memories of it.
I played this one Flintstones bowling racing game and it was pretty bad.
>Pokemon games beyond gen II
aww, you scared of new concepts genwhunner?
I wasted $4 on this.
The racing game was good and everyone knows it
Rise of the Argonauts. From bad graphics to bad gameplay, just a terrible game overall.
I was too young and dumb to figure out the controls.
tekken advance...
>tfw you realize you wasted birthday or christmas money
Absolute garbage. Easier than Stafy, keeps breaking its own time travel rules, generic characters, stupid story, time travel is so underused it feels like traveling to different continents.
I didn't even like Tom and Jerry I wasted my fucking gift card on this
>scared
more like turned off. who the fuck cares about fashion contests and super legendary pokemon story lines. fuck that shit. not to mention the pokemon designs get so fucking stupid looking.
>"genwhunner"
reading comprehension.
Fight me irl you wont.
Can’t believe I fully completed it.
Nintendo has sucked since after ww
Isn't the other star wars game on gba even worse?
i hate time travel shit in general. chrono cross is just as bad. i do like the music from both games though.
My cousin had this one. He had awful taste in video games.
Oh fuck, I got this for Christmas one year. So bad I forgot that I even had it at one point.
>the game is so fucking garbage that the gamecube version is completely lost
woah senpai, at least post the original ps3 game for that. Rebirth1 is okay,
Still wish they had kept the guns that they all had in the original game though
Natural Doctrine. All I wanted was a fucking SRPG and all I got was shit. Fuck this game.
I didn't like this one at all.
That happened to me. I rented this as a kid and it was absolutely horrific.
I really liked BnB though. It felt like a really classic tabletop RPG.
>paid 10 bucks for it
>still felt like i was ripped off
i seriously wonder why it took so long for visceral to fuck off
Thankfully it was just a Christmas present, luckily i got Super Star Ultra with it too.
>Rebirth1 is okay
I couldn't get past the first dungeon because of how terrible it was
Buy me a plane ticket, book a hotel (+mini bar) and I fucking will.
At least Cross did the dimension hopping right. Unfortunately they're too similar, but I guess that was the point.
I'll buy a ticked straight to dreamland, kid.
Fuck yeah I get to meet Kirby
The music is from other planet.
ballz
I remember reading a review of this game that claimed the soundtrack sounded like a bad porno soundtrack.
How would you feel if I told you that dungeon, along with another 6 or so, are reused for the entire game?
I remember playing this as a kid. It ruined Jello for me.
Jesus christ. I must have buried this in my subconscious. I was always the loader.
Glad that I didn't bother with it anymore. I have no idea how people can stomach these kinds of games
I have to wonder what sort of porn they were watching.
Imagine if this shit was what sold millions instead of Street Fighter. That's literally the industry we are in right now, where western GRAPHIX takes all the industry attention away from timeless Japanese classics.
Rise of the Robots did sell well though.
SCRATCH THAT I found what they were listening to.
>equip dagger
>lose 50% move speed
>equip a shield
>lose 50% move speed
>can't move at all
>have to not use shield
>get 1 shot
>try with shield and no dagger
>can't attack
....... one more time with the correct link, and I'll stop posting off topic shit.
>cover is called blaze and blade
>screen title is called "legend of foresia"
I have fond memory of that shit game because I played it with my sister when we were young, but that's it, so many shitty, hour long backtracking, with shitty loot and character imbalance that still forces you to create shitty classes to unlock paths and contrinu the game
...
Not even tits and ass could save this game.
Nowhere near as much as Street Fighter (and certainly not fucking millions, which was the post's initial goalpost position), and if both came out in the modern westcucked industry the scenario would almost certainly be reversed.
wait what the shit
That looks like a fake video game you'd see in a sitcom
Was the first Legacy of Goku really that bad? I had the sequel and it was enjoyable when I was a kiddo.
...
Fun fact, the reason the music is so bad is because they forgot to replace the beta music with the finished music, and the finished music ended up getting deleted with the rest of the beta stuff
>tfw played it and unironically like it
Episode III was nice
...
I think i am the only one who played this game.
This was probably the best fighting game on the GBA actually. I know it's not a high bar to clear, but there are worse, like the MK games. It had fairly faithful physics and combos compared to the actual games. Its biggest flaw was the lack of story mode or anything that would incentivize you to play for more than 10 minutes
This shit show
I stand by my genwhunner quote
Gold & Silver felt like Gen 1.5 to me
the sequel was better, but not by much
You think the SNES version is bad? I had the fucking Game Gear version when I was a kid! You don't know hell until you've played that pile of shit.
>Bored out of my mind at a thanksgiving a few years back
>no internet, all I had was a recent playstation magazine
>look through it
>see a review for the first hyper neptunia game
>The guy reviewing it just slams it and says the only reason to buy it is if you're a weeb
That's the only reason I know what the fuck these games are, but is it really that bad?
It's a very mediocre movie to vidya game, plus there's a lot of platforming, but you move with unprecise tank controls.
BROTHER
Fuck this game. Sound effect from when you get hit and die is ingrained into my skull. Proper piece of shit.
I played the beta and felt ripped off.
Don't worry, or perhaps do worry
...
I paid full retail price for this turd
and I enjoyed it
