Unironically, NFS Pro Street and Shift 2, they still hold up pretty well and aren't obnoxious cash grabs like most new releases.
Dirt 3, GRID 2 and Autosport are still great as well and look amazing.

Of course, but it doesn't try to. It's like the cars you find in rally races. They're not the best prices family cars, nor the fastest cars for the budget, but they are great for the stuff that rally needs.

Get the XP patch and it just werks™. Though widescreen does break the in car views there is a fan patch that fixes that.
