Don't know. But my monitor is 16:9 and even 4:3 resolution rescales into 16:9. I set 800x600 and still get it stretched on whole screen. Alright, how do I get those nice black stripes on the sides with true 4:3 image inside?

Dunno i don’t into PC, my TV just has channel specific settings for wide screen and 4:3. Its super convinient. It just adjusts automatically for me.

Possibly. The OG hardware was good enough to me vanilla, and it’s still good now. I flip between my PS2 and my PS4 all the time. Looks great with a component in 60hz progressive scan. Could really do with getting a pro CRT monitor but i don’t want 2 tvs in my room.

Put the internal X and Y options on the highest, and set the stretching mode to a 4:3 option is there is one. Also see if there is a better option under "render mode'.
