>400 million dollar game
>uses assets from Unreal engine store
400 million dollar game
wow how dare they uninstalled
And? Nice thread shill.
Still better than Destiny 2
>$500 million dollar game
>90% of it is just reused from the first game
that'll show them.
no... nononono.... NO!
THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING BROS
HOLD ME
the classic looting simulator, the pc master race fav thing, they talk shit about console games but all they have is literally a walking shooting nostory looting game, oh well, pc never had good exclusive game anyways
Isn't that the point?
delete this NOW
Oh no! So instead of paying people to make assets, they paid for assets people made
Did you really expect anything else from a team of Korean Jews?
I bet next you're gonna tell me they didnt even make their own engine!
Escape From Tarkov > PUBG
Warframe > Destiny 2
>if you buy from the marketplace, your game NEEDS to fail
What did OP mean by this?
don't put words in my mouth
I don't get it.
It's ok to pay own people to make assets but it's not ok to pay other people that made assets?
Please explain.
>top of the shitpile
All awful games who fuckin cares
yes its a lazy as fuck made game with an unoriginal concept thats been done before, that got extremely lucky. this is nothing new.
The classic head up his own ass console pleb.
That's literally what the Unreal engine store is for.
creating your own assets is literally what 400 million dollars is for
You have no idea how expensive and time consuming art is.
If any developer is allowed to cut corners, he will.
I don't play this because I don't have any friends but why should someone care about this? At all?
The entire game is made with unreal store assets. The fucking trees are default ones from the speedtree software. This lead to hilarious shit like one tree model being 10k polygons and another being 50k.
The problem with marketplace assets is that they were (in general) done by amateurs who want to make a few bucks on the side. That means the assets are incredibly unoptimized and in general not really professional quality.
If you look at those assets, they look ugly. PUBG in general looks very ugly.
Another problem is that when you buy things made by different people, your assets start looking inconsistent, that is to say different from one another. And it feels like they don't belong to the same world, they look out of place.
Its been done before, but it was never done RIGHT, hence why it became popular. All other battle royale games were just lazy mods for an already existing game.
Its the same with zombie survival games. Its overdone, but there still aren't any good games out there besides Project Zomboid (Which hardly counts because its a top down game). There is so much potential in the genre when you think about it.
>one tree model being 10k polygons and another being 50k.
This is what I'm talking about when I mention inconsistency. Proper AAA studios have outsourcing departments who make sure they explain the freelancers the quality guidelines so that assets are still consistent.
When you buy shit from the store or use default assets, this consistency doesn't exist and makes the game look bad.
$22 for 5 props that they can use in every park in the map and are already created for use in games
vs
$220 for paying a artist to work for a week creating game-worthy props that don't break polygon limits and other restraints
Can you really even compare Warframe to Destiny 2? They're fairly different games, Warframe actually being fun being one major difference.
>that don't break polygon limits and other restraints
they obviously don't care about that considering the performance of their game
Ok, the consistency is a good point, but people don't seem to care too much about the ugliness judging by the player numbers.
>because creating a unique playground would be so important to making the game good
Fuck off OP, there's many other things to criticize PUGB for. Seriously why nit pick this? All big titles have textures and assets tampered taken from other sources. Recreating everything for your game is more than often not only really time consuming and expensive, but also unnecessary.
You just get done writing a paper for class or something, dude? You don't have a required word count here. Stop repeating yourself.
Because they didn't have any competition. We'll see now that Fortnite came out and plays even better, and Escape From Tarkov is about to come out as well if PUBG can keep its player base.
They pretty much had a monopoly on the genre tho
With better alternatives I don't know if people will stick to PUBG
