What monitor will you be using?

Price to performance: nope.
Got money to burn and you want the best? Yes.
It's good and will last you for years. Waiting for new cards is a meme unless they're only weeks away.
>inb4 wait for Volta
i got memed and been laying off buying a laptop for 1 year
what an awful year
Wait for next gen. None of the gpu right now can consistently run 4k 60fps or 1440p 144fps without sacrificing a lot of quality.

But the 1080Ti can do 4k 60 FPS, some games you might have to turn down shadows, but at 4K you don't need AA for most games
Not 4K for some time. Mostly had HTC Vive in mind. I've read an article or two and I'm pretty sure I'll tune it down a notch and get a 1080.
are these good temps, for an overclock [email protected], used aida64 and tested for 1 hour
I'm pretty happy with the RX Vega 56 I just picked up, but its only really worth it if you can get it for $400 or less and you don't plan to use AMD's drivers.
1060 or 1070 is enough and to be honest I have heard of gpu related problems in games with the 1080 way more often than with 1060 or 1070. Not sure why though.
no just get a 1050ti and wait til prices drop
Do you plan on playing 1440p at 144fps? Totally worth. Sticking with 1080p at 60fps? Get a 1060. Sticking at 1080p but going for 144fps? 1070.
how about VR?
>inb4 kys
what would you guys recommend i upgrade first? i happened upon a 1080p 144hz monitor and i figured i should try and upgrade my rig a bit
This.
If you don't care about the intricacies and are okay with console-quality framerates and resolutions, you can get away with as little as a 600 or 700 series GTX card. Just get a quad core CPU and at least 8 gigs of RAM, you're set even for new triple A titles. Except Assassins Creed Origins. I don't think NASA computers could run that game plus the DRM.
I don't care much about new games. I'll probably end up playing ArmA and Assetto Corsa the most after novelty of VR goes off.
I would get a 1070 and a 144hz monitor instead desu
What 200 series card do you have? 4GB means its a 290 right? That's getting kind of old, but its still probably ok for 1080p.
If you're going to keep running Windows you might want to think about an Nvidia card just for the drivers.
Anything under 85c is good.

God damn, I thought it would be closer. But at least I have a decent 1070.
