What graphics cards you Sup Forumsirgins running?

Planning on upgrading to a 1080ti from a R9 290. Is it worth it?

1080Ti is pretty sweet. Had a 1080 before and it was a nice upgrade.

1070 ti, should last me until volta revision

depends on what resolution you play

1080Ti

My 4k screen should be arriving soon too.

1080p, but 2 monitors.

Also use a VIVE.

Gainward GTX 970 Phantom.

1060 6GB

560Ti

Will only upgrade for Bannerlord.

Maybe I will get my brother's 970 next year for cheap.

>gainward

The Geforce 6800LE was straight up missing capacitators that you had to put on the card yourself. Never buying Gainward again.

then yes

...

GTX 970, i5 3330, 12gb ram. 4K monitor. It performs surprisingly well at 1440p and even 4K sometimes.

I'm thinking of upgrading next year to an 1170 (presumably close to 1080ti in performance), an i7 cpu and 24gb of ram.

I run a 1080Ti with a modest overclock as I play games on a 4K G-Sync monitor. I could push the clock speed higher but I like the current fan curve I am using.

Got it on sale during Black Friday, happy with it so far.

...

Yeah I'm a bit disappointed. Still gets hot quickly despite a gigantic custom cooler, and I suspect that the fan starting to rattle when the computer is under load is one of the graphics card fans.

Honestly graphics cards are the bain of my existence. My last three cards have either developed rattly fans or have failed on me entirely. I fucking hate graphics cards so much.

This because I'm poorfag as dirt

At least I can max out the Witcher 2 at a steady 60fps now along with almost all games I want. Doom runs super nice on it as well

Goes along really well with my 144hz Freesync monitor

I've tried 4K/60Hz on a 27" panel, recently replaced with 1440/144Hz of same size.
Not an awful lot of difference at that panel size, I prefer trading off more pixels which are less noticeable for more frames.

IT tech in top etailer here, ask advice if you want

Just found out I have a 1070 in this thing, what should I play that will look pretty?

That's why I usually go with reference cards nowadays. They aren't the best, but I haven't had any issues with any of them.

Recently got this for m G20aj. Works like a charm even though I'm pretty sure my pc shouldn't have enough power for but I'm not complaining.

Have a 1050ti, which is an upgrade over my 840M in my last craptop

would've gotten a vega56 just for the freesync, but fagmd fucked up and decided to use HBM2, so no AIB in stock, went and settled for a 1070 ti

Thiking of upgrading the processor to a I5-8600K, the motherboard to a Z370-A PRO and 16go or ram. Should I ? Don't mention it.

I'm going to build a new computer within the next month, but I'm bad with keeping up with hardware news. Should I go for the 1080tu or wait for something else? I know there's the idea that I'll always be "waiting" if I want the latest which is what I'm not doing, but I don't know if something new is arriving in the next month or so.

Wait for Nvidia Volta or Ampere

970 is pushing my 1440p monitor. Waiting on Volta or whatever the fuck it's going to be called to upgrade.

1070. Could go for something nicer, but I don't really have a need for it, since the only things I ever have the occasional issue with are VR games. Even then, that's only if I crank them to above normal settings (1.1 pixel density in Robo Recall, for example)

R9 Fury
Would have been shit if I'd paid the $500+ MSRP, but on sale for $250 it was a steal.

Happy with my 1070s.

HD 5870

Ryzen 5 1400
1060 3gb
16 GB RAM
Asrock ab350 k4 Mobo
500gbssd
650w gold evga psu
First build, did I do good? :)

your gpu is outdated the day you buy it. doesn't matter. if you want a gpu just get one today.

1070 - mainly because at the time, a decent model 1080 was well over $300 more expensive. Don't really have a desire to upgrade because I'm happy with 1080p.

This bad boy should be arriving any second now

I have a r9 290 too, wondering how big of a leap a 1080ti would be for me.

You could've cut your ram and ssd storage in half and gotten a better cpu+gpu which would've been infinitely better. Kinda fucked up your priorities if your intention was for it to be a gaming desktop.

Tried not to break the bank ona $400 gpu. Been using potato laptops barely able to run vanilla wow forever so I figure it's at least capable of playing demanding RTS's at decent settings. I read that ryzens benefit from dual channel ram and since ram is only increasing in price I got 2 8gb 3000mhz stix. Are there disadvantages to only having an SSD? Also has anyone ordered directly from EVGA? The PSU is the only thing that hasn't arrived yet and it's taking forever through ups and the tracking shows it left CA on Monday and hasn't updated yet.

release this shit already

My sapphire 7970 8gb died and got this as a replacement, what a shit card at the start, display would crash just looking at google earth and playing certain games until AMD got their shit together and finally fixed that stupid fucking wattman bug.

I just upgraded from an R9 Fury I bought a year and half ago to a Vega 64 because I hate having money and cards with greater than mediocre performance.

If I was mentally unstable I'd start cutting too, the matchmaking on RL nowadays is retarded.

Only disadvantage is the price compared to HDD.

I just cant justify upgrading to 1080ti with volta fuck that.

>tfw got this 7 months ago before prices went to shit

1070 is all you could ever need, buttery smooth 144fps at 1080p or crisp 60+ fps on 1440p.

...

While I think Nvidia should fuck off with their coprorate tactics (paygating adaptive sync for the high end only, Gameworks, double dipping by releasing the xx80 as the high, then Titan, then xx80ti when they could easily release everything day one), there's no refuting that they have the more efficient and powerful GPUs for games and that the Vega launch has been a clusterfuck.

By all means buy a 1080ti if that's the money youre looking to spend. It's so much more powerful than its siblings that it's even decent value if you look at it like that.
Personally I think Vega is just fine, but only the 56 model price/performance/power/heat wise and the reference cooler isn't the best. Hopefully the Vega arch is what AMD is looking to iterate on for the next 5 years, so the current cards will recieve 290-series levels of support and performance increments - hopefully the neglect of the Fury line was just a fluke

980
its nice for encoding videos
runs most things on 4k fairly smoothly
wish i had a 1080ti

Still running a GTX 760. Thought about upgrading recently but all the recent sales were trash.

>By all means buy a 1080ti if that's the money youre looking to spend. It's so much more powerful than its siblings that it's even decent value if you look at it like that.
That's why I got a 1080Ti, it's a bigger jump over the 1080 than the 1080 is the 1070. I would like to buy another AMD card in the future but Vega didn't seem like it would be worth it.

I agree a 1070 and a 144hz monitor is all you need

runs everything @1080p60 HIGH

and i really mean EVERYTHING. really, besides future proofing, there's no need for anythin higher than this for 1080p60 high. Ultra is a lie.

It's not just Nvidia rigging the market nowadays

I had to settle with an overpriced 1050Ti because the prices for 4xx and 5xx AMD cards are out the ass thanks to the mining meme.

I JUST WANT A DECENT GPU THAT WON'T COST ME AS MUCH AS A FUCKING CONSOLE REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

What's the best site to buy nvidia gpus in yurop?

Vega doesn't even work yet.

Mining craze is just fucking cancer. Not AMD's fault, but it did basically eliminate them for consumers for half a year. But at least I can get a 580 8GB for 300€ at the moment

And cryptos are going up, and Vega is a mining miracle in Monero.

rx vega 56

game by day, mine by night

great card

MINERS DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Suck my cock fuckboi.
Tweaked 56 gets ~2k H/s in Monero.

I'm still running 980tis in SLI.

Wanted a vega but got really put off by the noise of the blowers. Ordered a 1080 on sale a week ago instead

Planning on upgrading my 770 soon and upgrading to 1440p. My 770 still manages most games on 1080/high.

1080 SLI, they do quite nicely for 4K, but I'm looking forward to a 4K 144Hz monitor and faster cards next year.

>Almost 2018
>not gaming with headphones rendering blower noise moot

rx 480 8gb

I live with my partner

Got it for $450 as soon as it came out so I'm happy

2GB 770

I have the money to make a new build but lack the balls to spend the money.

The one I am on now I just got upgraded. Gonna make a second build with intel when the new cards come out.

got the 1080 as a free evga stepup from a 980ti.

waiting for the new batch of cards before I upgrade

Buy them some headphones too.

>8gb ram
Pls no.. I'm going to punch it to either 16 or 32gb, knowing full well sooner or later most games will demand more than 8gbs just to play the damn game, why bother waiting.
Just throw in 16gb.
Do agree on the SSD though, although I guess more space is always handy dandy.

Yeehaw

Currently have a Fury Nitro, waiting for Sapphire to release their Vega 64 Nitro to upgrade to.

Whats the best gtx 1050ti i can possibly get?

With a fucking 770? No user, you should not.

Or I could just get the 1080 for $180 off normal price, save power, run cooler/quieter and have more consistent performance. The only thing that stopped it being the obvious choice in the first place was the cost of goysync

Geforce 820m

A 1060 6gb that will actually last about 2 or 3 years

Got a rx 470 with a 3440x1440 uw screen. Would upgrade to vega but no custom cards so i will wait for volta or a decent 1070ti 1080 deal

I didn't see a point in getting anything higher than a 1060.

I still have my R9 380. There's still so many games from like the best 5 or 6 years I still want to play and AAA games nowadays is unappealing for me.

>buying poozen
Cannon Lake or you're a dumb poorfag

>happy with 1080p

what year is this

>buying Ryzen
Found the moron
At least you're correcting your mistake and not making excuses for why you're going to keep sticking with a sinking ship that is AMD

>tfw want to upgrade my r9 290 but all the cards that would be a legit upgrade are scalped to hell and back

damn

I m still on 980ti
Its holding on pretty well

amd a8 apu
6 GB RAM
in 2017
this shit laptop is all i have for a computer
save me

Intel goyim

not him but
>got a good x370 board and 1600x for cheap on sale
>got a 1080 for cheap on sale
>have a clear upgrade path for the next 2 gens on the same mobo
>lose 5 fps at 1440p compared to intel equivilant
>makes intel look like dogshit for productivity
I'm happy

can't seem to get my CPU temps down. already tried redoing the thermal paste. maybe i just got fucked on the lottery.

>got a good x370 board and 1600x for cheap on sale
You can buy a far superior Z370 board for the same price as the only decent X370.
>have a clear upgrade path for the next 2 gens on the same mobo
>lose 5 fps at 1440p compared to intel equivilant
>he actually believes this

>makes intel look like dogshit for productivity
Kek, a Core i5-8600K runs circles around the 1600X with multi-threaded tasks, even if it has twice the number of threads

How decent is the GTX 1050 ti?

Hey I bought a laptop like that, in 2012. I got to dmg on csgo averaging 50 fps on it. Good times. Eat ramen until you have about 1000 dollars then get a good mid tier pc. That's what I did

Is that idle at stock or what? I don't think you can get fucked that hard on the lottery, something must be wrong.
