Of all the things people complain about, the use of cassette's is the easiest one to signify they have no idea what the game it about.

I have been playing video games since I was 7 years old and the shaky cam that is constantly, incessantly used in the cutscenes cause me motion sickness. Most of the story is on cassette tapes anyway so it wasn't much harm done. Game was good because of the gameplay and quantity over quality- mindset with the missions and side content, but the story was pretty much the mirror image of MGS4. Minimal cutscenes, good story, as opposed to MGS4's hours of cutscenes with a shit story.

That entire subplot was pointless. Code Talker acts like it's a big deal they can speak to eachother using alternative language, but then it never comes up again except maybe in one tape if even that. If either of them took a minute to think about it, some problems could've been solved. In theory, getting Code Talker or someone else to do live translation for her alternative language, like Snake has to accumulate to get a good foothold in the rest of the game, could've saved her fucking life.

Instead she stubbornly adheres to some retarded and unexplained vow of silence except for this one part, and MUH PARASITES

On some things with MGSV I can give Kojima the benefit of the doubt since there were things we even saw pre-release that got removed, and Konami basically had his balls in a frying pan by how badly they fucked up communication and development workflow for the team. But in cases like this, it feels like unless there was more justification that got cut out, the story was inherently flawed from the get go.

Then again i'm one of those fags that still believe an actual story of forming up FOXHOUND with the real Big Boss would've been a thousand times more interesting than the equivalent of a side-game in plot that deals with Liquid being a petty little shit and a one-off villain that has no relevance in the grand scheme of things besides fucking up Zero.

I still don't understand the "demon" shit. Skull Face is a megalomaniac, you're fighting russian and PMC forces that basically shoot on sight alongside the Cipher XOF conspiracy, and Venom's not squeaky clean and thought to put a gun in the hands of kids first before Kaz stepped in, but the only thing Venom gets for the most part is loyal but bloodthirsty soldiers and trauma. Doesn't really do genuine evil, and is even entirely justified in interrogating and torturing Huey who basically betrayed him and murdered his own wife to turn his kid into a guinea pig.

It's like the game got rewrites late in development because they couldn't make the protagonist an outright villain.
