Burnout is the best racing game ever made, but my favorite will have to be WipEout HD.
>tfw there will never be a fusion of WipEout and Burnout

trackmania

...

youtube.com/watch?v=no_0alpUz2E

My dream is F-Zero X with burnout esque crash cam.

gran turismo 3/4
GRID
burnout 3
NFSU
NFS:MW 2005
project gotham racing 3

Glad you didn't opt for Revenge, Underground 2, or Carbon. However I would put PGR4 over PGR3 despite its trade offs.

> most interesting/pretty version of Trackmania was cut off at the knees for consoles

Goddamit.

Revenge was alright
Carbon was the last decent NFS

i didnt mind revenge but it jusat isnt as good as 3

never played NFSU2 or carbon

Midnight Club 2

youtube.com/watch?v=JtKXPTs0pWE

NFS3:HP

I have many fond memories playing it and it's the only racing game where I unlocked and did everything in the game. Love it to this day.

Who would opt for Carbon? lmao

I prefer Revenge slightly over 3, if only because I actually enjoy traffic checking. Either one is leagues better than Paradise.

Potentially this guy

I like visual mods so MC3DE and NFSU2 are my favorites.

I DONT KNOW IF WE'LL MAKE IT HOOOOME

Test Drive Unlimited. (the second one was garbage).
NFS 2.
NFSU 1
Midtown Madness 2.
Ridge Racer 64
Destruction Derby 64.
Most recent: Forza Horizon 3.

Does Burnout 3 emulate well?

F-Zero GX
Redout
Star Wars Episode 1 Racer
Flatout 2
NFS High Stakes
Ignition

Dirt Rally for soft ground or Trackmania for hard.

for me it does
4k 60 fps

Burnout Paradise

It's a shame trackmania is handled by a company that can only be described as completely fucking clueless

>when you realize your fav racing game was made by EA

SKIIIIIIII
NEEEEEEEEEEE
MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN

Haven't played a Gran Turismo game since the PS2 era and I've been itching to get back into it. Should I get GT5, GT6, or GT Sport?

Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2

This intro is honestly pure Kino. I never skip it.

sue me I enjoy this

What was it?

Trackmania turbo. Could have been the successor to 2, but they gave the pc version the same restrictions as console.

>2008
>friend asks me to install Trackmania Nations because 'it's fun'
>tell him to fuck off and pay no mind to his pleadings asking for me to install the game
>2015
>finally decide to try this shitmania out
>get addicted to it and can't stop playing it
I also own Canyon, Valley and Turbo, but Stadium is by far my favorite.

Fuuuck that track and all the others with only oncoming traffic

No one Crash Team Racing? I loved that shit when i was a kid.

Totally forgot how much I loved the first TDU. Damn, what happened to racing games

None. They will just disappoint you

This.
The online is unusable due to the GUI mods that can't be disabled without removing the important time GUI.

I wouldn't put Carbon on top, but it was a perfectly fine NFS game.

>just enough tuning to feel like you were making a performance difference without getting autistic
>fun drifting events
>dem muscle cars
>Initial D-style rival canyon races

It was certainly better than every NFS after it.

youre a gay nigger

>near miss and oncoming with star ratings
Did Saints Row 2 steal that or is it a coincidence?

i thought i had wasted my money on this shit but then it got VR support and while the VR levels are dumb there is nothing in VR right now that tops this game, it is really cool to see these cars in real size and everything

>Burnout is the best racing game ever made for ADHD-afflicted children

NFS:U is the correct answer

You're alright, user.

Assetto Corsa.

Spotted the simfag. Did you install the passenger seat and cup holders on your rig yet?

>his favorite racing game wasn't made when they were still called Electronic Arts

Huh, I never realised lazlo's mouth was a banana

>burnout is dead
>wipeout is dead
>mario kart is the only kart racer that ever lasts more then a month
>racing genre has been ruined by boring simfags and their boring garbage

c'mon man, i love take down as much as anybody, but playing the ps2 version? i mean really

youtube.com/watch?v=vciLuY0zL6M

>less reflection, lower res sparks and background textures, lower res motion blur

My waifu body pillow doesn't need a passenger seat, she rides on my lap. It's also entirely possible to be an arcadefag without plumbing to the depths of literal shit like Burnout, whose fanbase consists nearly entirely of "bro i loved crash mode! taking down oppoentsns is just like sikk killstreeks in my cod games!"

I am absolutely not agreeing with that faggot, but sims are pretty great for listening to music/podcasts

>boring simfags and their boring garbage
Local Man Dislikes Thing

Damn. What rank are you worldwide? Last time I checked I was top 5000, but I'm sure you are much higher.

youtu.be/f-0e9bGZ_0c

Fuck yes

Carbon isn't any good at all though, as a matter of fact, it's would be a contender for the worst, it's ONLY redeeming quality was the city takeover mechanic, everything about the tuning was dumbed down to absolute shit and the moment anyone talks good about it you know you've spotted someone who hasn't touched a good NFS game.

youtube.com/watch?v=JBwMMjzXZQw

Who gives a fuck to online ranking in Trackmania?
The ranking system in this is really inconsistent. If you keep playing on the same server over and over again your rank gets stagnated, even if you win frequently. However, if you play on different shitty servers with frequency you can gain rank quite easily, even if you don't win that much.

shit compared to automobilista. It's an overglorified demo. Only good for driftan round noobs on handbrake junkies.

Step aside faggots.

>boring simfags and their boring garbage

>Flatout 2
Good shit user, good shit.

Trackmania webms make me feel funny.

reminds me of when someone did that to me in PGR3 on nurburgring. i ended up driving perfectly and coming in first

>shit cars
>shit tracks
>literally just rFactor with new menus
>dead mp

only good post in the thread

holy fuck that looks good, which trackmania is that

the unholy amount of time my lil bro and I spend on those games doesn't have any mention.

Canyon. TM2's engine looks fantastic even now and Canyon definitely shows it off the best. Nadeo have some goddamn code wizards, but Ubisoft fucked everything up beyond belief.

i could have two degrees in medicine

And that webm is using the old engine. In june 2017 there was the MP4 update that changed the engine drastically.

Oh shit, really? I haven't played TM2 in ages, partly 'cause it's so quiet now compared to Nations.

>tfw the only racers these days are boring-ass sims and Mario Kart
What the hell happened? The early '00s had a ton of fun racers and then they just fucking died

Are you trying to prove his point?

Tfw I can't play horizon 3 for more than 20 minutes without it crashing now. I don't know what happened to it after a few driver updates.

a-user... why would you get rid of the characteristic feature of a skyline's butt???

The sky is black in hardware mode but there is a workaround.

You have to launch the game in software mode and start a race. After the race loads you can turn on hardware mode. You don't have to do it for every race. Only once per session.

Can't remember playing any proper racing games in like 15+ years. Kart games like Mario Kart 8 are kinda meh because the races are too short except in MK64 Rainbow Road on 50cc so it lasts the longest. F-1 World Grand Prix for N64 I played lots with full amount of laps so that one might be favorite. And best music from the game easily youtube.com/watch?v=dKkhNBOU7z8

who /topgear2/ here?

Can modern CPUs emulate PCSX2 games in software mode full speed already?
Software mode is really accurate, but holy shit, it fucks the CPU over

ryzen 7 does a decent job but its pointless if the GPU is better

Depends on the game. I played Initial D: Special Stage at 60fps. but reportedly, you can't even get NFS Most Wanted running.

>emualating MW
>not just playing the PC version

Oh, I agree. Though when I go back to it nowadays I usually go the 360 route because I still haven't beaten it there and I want those sweet last few hundred gamerscore.

I AM ROCK
THERE AINT NO BREAKAN ME

He's not wrong though. Practically every racing game these days that isn't Mario Kart is either simshit or simcade. There hasn't been a Motorstorm/Blur/SplitSecond/Burnout-type game in almost 8 years.

The craving for realistic games with real physics and all that.

>muh murio kort
Fuck off, no one gives a fuck to your toddler garbage

That's a lack of games period, not an overflow of sims. There are no more actual sims now than there were in the past, and they're still extremely fucking niche- how many average dudebro gamers are gonna know about stuff like Assetto Corsa or rFactor or any of the SimBin games? The only one that's gotten a surprising amount of attention is Dirt Rally. Then for simcade you have the exact same Big Two of GT and Forza that have been going on for years and years.

It's not "why is everything a sim or simcade," it's "why is there no arcade."

HES THE ONE FOR ME
THERES NO PLACE ID RATHER BE
TO THE FINISH LINE
EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK HES RIGHT ON TIME

>arcade racers are dead
Why did it happen.
Is there any chance that the crew 2 could be good?

>atreyu starts playing

*blocks your path*

I would pick twisted metal but it's not a raver

I enjoyed the first game enough once they fixed it.

Horizon 3 is superb. It's also the highest rated Xbone exclusive game, which is fitting because it's also the only game worth it on the Xbone since it can't run on toasters

Racing sims were never good. Burnout is a racing GAME, and as a GAME, it's FUN, unlike whatever dogshit you play.

Outrun 2k6 and F-Zero GX.
Special mentions to Burnout 3 and Wiepout XL.

BOW TO YOUR BENEVOLANT GOD, Sup Forums.

This is why no one likes Burnout fans.
