Do these still scratch the tablets?

Do these still scratch the tablets?

Turns out, they never did. It was just a handful of autists tossing it in there like retards. If you handle it like an adult, you'll be fine.

If you ham handle it like a fucking idiot and smash it in and yank it out of course.

/thread

They only scratch the tablet if you squeeze the dock like a retard, otherwise they never have.

I work at Walmart and have literally seen 15 people bring back their switches because of scratching due to the dock.

No you don't, lard ass

There's evidence of this happening all over the web.. The Nintendo shills in here are pitiful, honestly.

They never did. The whole thing was a meme started on NeoGAF.

I have a Switch and my roommate also has one, we looked and there weren't any scratches.
When I went to my friend's house in Portland and checked her Switch, it was like, pristine.

Such liars in this thread. Yes it does still scratch, even if you're gentle with it.

>Walmart

There's your explanation, you have literally mongoloids buying them

>Turns out, they never did
>Handful of autists tossing it in there like retards
well, which is it?

You mean scratching due to shoving things into the dock.
It's impossible for the dock itself to scratch anything unless there's something wedged between the screen and the dock itself.

I assume OP is asking if they'll naturally scratch it. No it won't but of course it'll scratch it if you handle it like a manchild.

autists aren't people

>go on nintendogaf
>"so guys is it true that a nintendo product has a flaw? "
what the fuck is the point of even posting this, you already know what the answers are going to be

I work at Gamestop and we get at least one Switch a day that gets returned due to scratching, a shame it's such a crappy product, we've got tons of the defective things in the back with huge scratches on them that nobody wants

It actually has some rubber bands in the bottom, where the screen can touch the dock.

Not really sure how the dock would scratch the screen unless you put it in off center. At most the edges on the sides of the screen could get scratched.

Doesn't really matter, though. I bought a case and 2 screen protectors bundle on Amazon for $5. It's dirt cheap to protect it.

I never undock mine so I don't know.

They do naturally scratch it, pulling it from an angle is enough to scratch the switch.

Is it bad to leave the system docked all the time while keeping it in sleep mode?

No they fixed it with an update.

Post a webm about it then

My 6 year old niece tosses mine in like a retard and I still have no scratches. I have no idea what those people did with theirs to scratch it though.

>being this desperate

Just inspect your dock. If the thin plastic part is bent inward, don't put your switch in it. A few units at the start had bent docks that scratched the screens.

They intentionally damaged it to shitpost.

I work at best buy and we've had atleast 30 returns for this exact reason. I know somebody at a nearby gamestop and they complain about it happening often too. I don't believe the "its just retards with ham hands" meme.

No, because you should never even take it out

Post your Best Buy ID.

Yeah they patched it, doesn't do that anymore.

Dock won't scratch it unless they were bent in shipping. Just do the penny test and if it checks out you're good, if not bend the top out a bit until it does.

Who the fuck even plays docked
I play it in handheld mode even at home

Even a dock entirely made of cloth could 'naturally' scratch the switch if the user is retarded enough.
Normal people don't have to worry about the switch dock, that's all we're sayin.

Yes

>putting delicate screen into cramped container full of dust

what could possibly go wrong - nintendo "engineers"

No unless you're pulling it in/out with force against the plastic. If you just slide it in/out like a sane human nothing will happen.
Even if, the bezels align in a way so that the display itself won't get scratched

>Normal people don't have to worry about the switch dock, that's all we're sayin.

Normal people are exactly the ones causally lifting and setting it in the dock.

Yes absolutely. They also still bend.

The slot is pretty wide and it's very obvious where the plug is, you could only possibly scratch it if you're a retard

I never docked my switch normally because I didn't want to deal with the potential problem. Bought a type c cable and stuck it in the dock with the other end going to the switch which sat next to it. Eventually I got one of those tiny dock replacements that you put your original dock internals in, works great.

>it'll scratch it if you handle it like a manchild.

so, if you own a Switch you'll scratch it.

I'm thinking about getting one of those, anything I should keep in mind with it?

>White guy
Opinion discarded.

Yes. It's just ABS plastic popped out of a mold, it's not a precision cut hole. Some of them won't be as straight and perfect as you'd hope

its not nice to say that about nintendo fans

a1187240

No, but the joycons are shit. Have had to send mine in three times for bullshit.

stop trimming your nails so far user thats not good.

Pretty straight forward just know you do not use the LED light in the kit so you'll have a little board and ribbon cable left over. You could probably integrate the light into the new housing somehow but I didn't give a shit (I rarely dock anyway). There might be other kits now as well.

Just buy s tempered glass screen protector

it was only a small number of bent docks that scratched it

>Not posting the actual ID
White coward.

It still doesn't make any sense. The dock is made of plastic. The screen is made of some type of glass that is harder than the plastic. The screen should scratch the dock, not the other way around.

I did. But it's still a clear design flaw, and it's absurd Nintendo hasn't already corrected it. The corrected the OG 3DS screen scratching issue pretty quickly.

That was just a fake news story Forbes cooked up when they wanted the Switch to bomb.

Even if they did, you're a retard it you don't use a screen protector for the screen, and who the fuck cares about the rest

There is a built in plastic cover over the actual screen.

>The screen is made of some type of glass that is harder than the plastic

If this was true, why would we all be buying glass screen protectors to correct the problem?

i don't think Nintendo used Gorilla glass on the screen

Waiting for a fully handheld hardware revision desu
I don't enjoy docking

claims of them doing mysteriously disappeared even though more Switch systems are in circulation.

faggot

Even if they do, buy a $5 screen protector. Literally just as good as the native screen and protects the screen from idiots.

Like when I loaned mine to my autist friend who IN SPITE OF ME PUTTING IT IN A CASE FOR HIM returned it in the dock, loose in a bag with my controllers, the cables, and said case.

>plays for 5 hours straight
>keeps the fucker plugged in when it doesn't need to be
>w-why is my hard earned system bending!?
I've had my Switch since launch and it has yet to bend or scratch. Literally don't fucking handle it like a retard and you're fine

anyone here got a bent dock? how could you tell it was bent is it obvious?

I'm willing to bet that the people saying the Switch bends on it's own placed it next to a radiator or something but don't want to admit it.

Sup Forums please leave

5 hours without it plugged in? Good fucking luck. What is this trash bait

I just want a big vita, is that so wrong?

>handle it like a retard

How stupid are you for not realizing that a % of the units out there are simply defective. It doesn't have anything to do with the user mishandling anything

these people with scratched screens must be the same retards who red ringed their 360's

take better care of your electronics dummys

and now I just wait for the (you)'s

>How stupid are you for not realizing that a % of the units out there are simply defective.
How stupid are you for not realising that a % of the units being defective doesn't mean that the overall design is?

>"does this sharp metal object scratch the screen?"
>"no, unless you're retarded enough to rub the metal piece on the screen"
>"S-SO WHICH IS IT?! FUCKING NINTENDRONES"

>red ringed their 360's

I won an XBox 360 from the Mountain Dew every 10 minutes contest. That thing held out all the way until the 360 redesign came out and then it finally red ringed. It was a bummer but I was proud that it at least held out until I get an upgraded system.

My friend had like 3 of them die within 18 months.

>being desperate enough to ask for proof
truly nintenbabbies are the worst threat to humanity

>a % of the units being defective doesn't mean that the overall design is?

And yet the problems persist. Hmmmm

There's no metal on that portion at all.
The reason it's being scratched is either
1) Debris on the screen or the dock itself
2) Actually taking a knife to it.

What metal object?

Take it from an user who actually fucking has one, not like these man children playing xbones too poor to enjoy every console. Anyways lmao long story short, YES. THEY STILL DO. Only a handful of them do it though, Im the only one out of all my friends who managed get unlucky. Just put a screen protector on from the go and your good.

You could just not dock it.

Unfortunately people like you exist which means it's unavoidable.

I can wait a few years until Nintendo makes a cheapo switch without the dock or detachable joycons.

>I won an XBox 360 from the Mountain Dew every 10 minutes contest

I got mine from that contest too! It died around the time the Arcade model hit. I sent my dead unit to MS, and resold the refurb they sent me for the exact same cost as an Arcade. That one's still going strong~

Heard if you could drop a penny down the slot perpendicularly and not get stuck and hit the bottom you were good to go.

Hmmm, couldn't win the argument so you moved to insulting me.

u mad?

Man that contest was so fun. The bidding contest nonsense they have now is kind of lame.

...

i'd suck every dick at sony hq for a new handheld(with sd cards). I ain't even gay but I would grapefruit every single nip dong with gusto.

I can't believe sony makes such good hardware and then shits the bed on everything else.

I guess I wouldn’t know. The first thing I did when I pulled my out of the box was put a screen protector on it. If you didn’t do this, you’re a retard.

>Man that contest was so fun

Basically everybody that gamed the system at that won something. My brother got a TV out of it. They'll never do something that easy again

>couldn't win the argument
Uh user, that insult is a part of the argument.
I'm basically saying that you have to be an idiot to damage the system if it isn't defective and defective units represent probably 0.01% of all units currently out.

The fact I had to explain that to you only proves my point.

It never did

someone tell me what this mountain dew nonsense is all about

I think they're fine but it's worth buying a glass protector anyway they're cheap.
The screen on the switch is plastic making it shatter resistant but not scratch resistant, having the glass layer is a good idea even just to prevent tiny scratches ever occuring.
is this one actually good?
I want to get a 2nd dock but I've read reports that 3rd party ones have been killing switches.

That aftermarket unit reminds me of something

>is this one actually good?
Eh not really. Any small jolt drops the thing.

That's not a third party dock, that's a replacement case.
