BIG ANIME TITTIES

Who?

>he doesn’t play subbed

I don't understand japanese

If you can read subtitles you should be fine

but the subtitles say Pyra

Marketing

I thought the anime cliches would keep me from playing the game, but honestly they aren't that bad. No, the real thing that pisses me off is that around 10 hours in, and there's already been like 4 or 5 fights were you kick their ass and then the cutscene after has you getting your shit kicked in by the enemy, and I doubt this isn't gonna stop happeneing

Not much

>Liking that one eyed monster

>not liking that one-eyed monster

Not the sjws

Pretty much this.

If I have a one gripe right now (I'm about 16 hours in) it's that I hate how random monsters can suddenly just wander into a fight you're engaged in and suddenly a one-on-one turns into fucking free-for-all mayhem.

Still, it's one of the highest rated RPGs of the year and deservedly so. It's another superb exclusive for the Switch. What a year this has been

Seal reinforcements, user

You have no idea how much I want to fuck this girl

This.

A lot of things went right, the char designs included but they're all over the place due to the sheer volume of guest artists involved. I just want a Xenoblade game with Akihiko Yoshida doing the character designs, is that too much to ask?
Also the thing that went right the most was my slag cat wife.

>everyone wants to fuck this girl
uhh.. why? she has no sexual attributes worth noting, what would you even do to her...

>I just want a Xenoblade game with Akihiko Yoshida doing the character designs, is that too much to ask?
Is he freelance?

>right
>music's great
>graphics are actually fantastic, but the resolution prevents you from properly appreciating them
>game is really long
>combat is a little less mindless

>wrong
>map is an abomination
>minimap/navigation sucks ass
>game will not stop flooding you with cutscenes
>areas are fairly linear and not that big
>exploration isn't incentivized at all and there are far fewer unique monsters/superbosses
>enemies are damage sponges
>some segments of the game are confusingly designed and mislead a lot of people (path to the abandoned factory)
>waifu/moeshit
>game looks rough on a TV, and like a dumpster fire on handheld

>little to no nia porn

What did Mythra say?

xenoblade was never that huge in japan, but let's hope for the best

I ordered a Switch off amazon last night. Just for them titties.

Gonna be a good weekend.

Yeah, he's a freelance artist since 2013. He did the designs for NieR Automata on a contract basis.

Because she's got a great personality and has heart.

Disregard everything else. Zeke alone is enough.

what did she mean by this?

You'll be pleasantly surprised by the fact that it's actually a good game too. Have fun man.

oh, additionally:

>wrong
>no collectopedia
>no bestiary
>no real classes
>the interplay between arts is much less emphasized
>combat isn't as elaborate as before, no skill trees, no soul voices
>party members are only as useful as the blades they have equipped, and blades only have four possible arts each

Then sure he can, just ask Takahashi
Although we did get a blade by his protege

One of my favorite RPG parties in a long time.

Morag and Brighid a best

>combat isn't as elaborate as before
What

>exploration isn't incentivized
>can find secret treasure everywhere if you look hard enough
???

>combat isn't as elaborate
it's the most complex and elaborate combat xenoblade has ever had, what are you talking about

Shes not real

The strategies you can employ this time around are much less interesting. All you really need to do is use blade combos so you can break elemental orbs during chain attacks. It doesn't significantly matter who has which blades, only that you have a fairly even elemental distribution among your party and can dish out those combos.

Look at what else I said. There's nothing like a real skill tree. There is nothing like soul voice. There are no real party interaction mechanics beyond blade combos, which become trivial to pull off once everybody has three blades.

My dick is so hard for her I can will her into existence

OI MATE WOT CHA SAYIN NOW?

>can find secret treasure everywhere if you look hard enough
>a couple of boxes with gold and maybe some unrefined aux cores

Who cares? You can farm everything you need from salvage points.

I'm not him, and I agree with you that the exploration is just as good as always, but the combat is definitely a step down in complexity from XCX. Well, less the combat itself and more the aspects surrounding it. This is not necessarily a bad thing, though, depends on how much you liked how fiddly XCX could get. I personally prefer my systems as fiddly as possible, so I like XCX more than XC2 for its systems (I also really really hate having to depend on gacha for anything).

I think both games are fine and see no reason fans for each game should be at each others throats. The Xeno series is sufficiently niche that the fanbase shouldn't allow itself to be further divided.

Thanks, user!

Let's make welsh babies

>Rex Melia'd Nia
>But he can dual wield her and pyra
Then why he cucked her?!

I just started chapter 7 and I haven't done any of the sidequests for my rare blades, should I do them or are they shit? Also when do you get the sidequest for Poppi's third form?

combat in XBX was boring cuz your main becomes OP and your party are just your sponges

It's not like the random treasure in XCX was any better, and XC didn't even have ANY. The exploration in the games was rewarded with itself, with finding cool vistas and named monsters to fight for a chance at good gear dropping. All three games are perfectly fine at that (though I do like the movement mechanics in XCX much more, which edges it further in my book)

>There's nothing like a real skill tree.
Every driver and blade has its own affinity chart, what are you talking about
>There is nothing like soul voice.
As much as I liked Soul Voice's idea for not needing a dedicated healer and giving bonuses to boot, it's pretty much useless in endgame where Cross will be going solo because you don't want other party members messing up your setups
Especially if you go with a sleeplock build

Do them you dumbass
You unlock Poppi's 3rd form by doing a sidequest

Exploration doesn't feel as fun as XCX because everything is so linear.
Also
>come across some hidden shit
>can't get to it because the RNG didn't give you blades with the right skills

X's combat concealed its complexity behind the fact that you could get through a fair portion of the game just by button mashing. I think much of it just went over people's heads.

Are you trying to imply Rex doesn't become insanely OP in this? Have you SEEN the shit he and only he gets later on?

>You unlock Poppi's 3rd form by doing a sidequest
Yeah I know but where/when do you get the sidequest?
Also the sidequests seemed kind of shitty like I have to grind affinity with Electra to advance the one I started

>Every driver and blade has its own affinity chart, what are you talking about

The affinity charts aren't skill trees. They're just a random assortment of trivial bonuses you can get by completing mundane tasks. Many of the blades' are only useful as field skills, not as combat abilities.

fpbp.

What about the rare blade skills
Do you really think those bonuses are for naught
Do you think the driver skills are useless
What the hell do you consider a "proper" skill system

Can I switch blades around later on? I ended up getting some rare blades that are more suited for other characters

>>game will not stop flooding you with cutscenes
It's a 70 hour main story with 7 hours worth of cutscenes. That's still 63 hours worth of gaming.
>>exploration isn't incentivized at all
What the fuck
>>enemies are damage sponges
That's what you get when you're bad at the game
>>no collectopedia
>>no bestiary
>>no real classes
Literally nitpicking
>>combat isn't as elaborate as before
>>party members are only as useful as the blades they have equipped
Oh you're shitposting.

Overdrive Protocols, but those are incredibly scarce

You use really rare items called Overdrives to switch them around. Protip: Don't open any blades with Rex if you can help it, he gets a bunch of unique blades only he can use as the story progresses and by the end can use every blade anyone has.

Exactly how bad is handheld mode?

>They're just a random assortment of trivial bonuses you can get by completing mundane tasks.
But you complain about not having a collectapedia, a random assortment of trivial bonuses you can get by collecting shit?
The affinity charts offer better bonuses than a collectapedia you moron.

>Do you really think those bonuses are for naught

Yes. Far and away the mechanic which allows you to deal the greatest amount of damage is elemental bursts.

>What the hell do you consider a "proper" skill system

One that involves branching so that your characters can become more and more specialized. FFXII's was good.

Stop listening to pokebarneyfag, acfag, Eric, blunderfag, whatever you want to call him.
Just undock your switch and find out how autistic you can be over graffix.

Haven't got to this yet and I'm not defending it but it's honestly hilarious that this is an issue in so many RPGs.

And it's always specifically with wolf enemies.

It's playable but it can get pretty bad

It looks and runs far better than Vita games of a similar scale and as a certified Vitafag that's all I care about.

I miss the stupid charts connecting every NPC to every other NPC. They were never really important, but I really liked them. When you looked at the chart at the end of the game it really made it feel like you formed a bunch of connections between people.

Anyone know where I can salvage the ancient salvaging suit for the rebuilding school quest?

>literally opened all blades with Rex

fug

>But you complain about not having a collectapedia, a random assortment of trivial bonuses you can get by collecting shit?

The joy of a collectopedia/bestiary isn't in the bonuses it affords you. It's in being able to track and catalog how thoroughly you've surveyed the flora and fauna of an area. Xenoblade 2 doesn't provide you with any incentive to thoroughly survey anything. There isn't even that much else to survey beyond what the story railroads you through.

Are you stupid
Why would you not give your party members more blades

whatchu mean, you don't enjoy killing 4 frogs to get +5% increased damage on aquatic enemies instead?

>all the butthurt and the game is still doing well and has been received mostly positive
The madmen over at monolith

>the only thing that matters is damage
This is cute shitposting
It's so adorably ignorant
For those that don't know, the affinity chart in this game also matters for exploration, not just combat
They're the equivalent of field skills from X
Not to mention the combat bonuses aren't just for damage, but spawning pots during specials, lowering art cd, faster movement during combat, etc

>For those that don't know, the affinity chart in this game also matters for exploration, not just combat

We're fucking talking about combat, idiot. I explicitly said that many of the affinity chart bonuses are only useful for field skills here .

Fucking read the thread.

Can you remove other characters starting blades eventually? If not, then it seems useless since youll want 3 of the same type for max bonuses which locks them to a specific role

>6 rare and 56 common crystals
>not a single rare blade pulled

>It's in being able to track and catalog how thoroughly you've surveyed the flora and fauna of an area. Xenoblade 2 doesn't provide you with any incentive to thoroughly survey anything.
If this game had the collectapedia you'd be shitposting saying it's just a worthless game mechanic centered around collection when the bonuses aren't even that great.

I'm not even mad at your shitposting now Eric. It's just pity I feel.

I gave Nia dromarch + 2 healers and Morag Brighid + 2 tanks and the rest to Rex

>Far and away the mechanic which allows you to deal the greatest amount of damage is elemental bursts.
Which do even more damage thanks to the skills
>One that involves branching so that your characters can become more and more specialized. FFXII's was good.
Alright then, sure, I get what you mean
But don't disregard XC2's affinity trees just because of your requirements, especially since no Xeno game had something that attends to your requirements
And before you say XCX, remember that Cross can literally learn everything, so that point is moot when every endgame build is "do loads of damage" but in different ways, either by keeping the enemy unable to act or by just being a meme master with a Potential Blossom Dance build

But I loved the collectopedia in the previous games. I was crushed when I heard it was absent from this one. Once again, it's not about the damn bonuses.

Fucking read my post again
>Not to mention the combat bonuses aren't just for damage, but spawning pots during specials, lowering art cd, faster movement during combat, etc
Here's what you said
>Many of the blades' are only useful as field skills, not as combat abilities.
>not as combat abilities.
I just chose to mention exploration. You're a fucking retard.

That's Xenoblade mate, better get used to it

Well, to be fair that's kinda the end point of any build in any single player game. I don't think a lot of people want to play healer or tank to a bunch of NPCs. Saying that builds are focused on dealing the most damage is... Pretty obvious, and not exactly a flaw. The fun thing about X is how many ways to get to that BIG DAMAGE there were, even if most people were too lazy to find anything besides Blossom Dance Ghost Walker.

>pretending to be THIS concerned about the collectapedia
The only thing that got crushed was your feelings when the months of trolling on end got BTFO'd by XC2 selling well in UK and Japan.
>b-but it didn't sell 100k
Nobody was expecting it to, it's a niche franchise after all.

>especially since no Xeno game had something that attends to your requirements

If you follow the reply chain all the way back, you'll see that it spawned from this . Nobody cares about your irrelevant digressions.

It kind of goes overboard with the fanservice and anime tropes, to be honest. Enjoying it but these two facts are definitely causing me to not take the game seriously and laugh at it, which I assume is not what Monolith wants me to do.

I don't think it's particularly necessary for 75% of the females to be overly sexualized. When I got to the first major town I couldn't tell the males and females of the cat children apart, then I realized that some of them were wearing a lot less clothing. Is that really the only way they can distinguish between male and female?

Also I'm not even out of the first major town yet but the game yet but it has already gone through a lot of stereotypical anime jokes and shit.

A big amount of pathetic people and a shit game that caters to them.

Ok guys, where the FUCK do I get her fucking technical manual?
