The Nintendo Game

The remaster is what this game was meant to be and the n64 version is still kinda unplayable right now. Still it's a magnificient masterpiece.

That's not Blast Corps.

I prefer Turok 1 ultimately but 2 is definitely in the top 10.

>only for N64*
*also on PC

>another GE64 cock sucker
No thanks.

It was exclusive at the time.

Glover came out at the same time on PC and still had that on its box. Rogue Squadron came out on PC before the N64 version and still has that label on the N64 box.

Because PC was a completely separate market back then. It had nowhere near the overlap they do today.

I prefer 1 because I have nostalgia for it and I only ever saw someone play 2 and I thought it looked weird

Turok had the weirdest/spookiest ambiance/atmosphere, like pretty much every N64 game but even worse

>Play it on PC for the first time since remaster came out
>Multiplayer has all of the single player weapons (except razor wind) at full power instead 6 of them at weak power

Turok 2 is really good but its levels are massive and quite often it's hard to differentiate parts of the levels. You should play the new PC remaster of it.

That's not Perfect Dark though.

...

Original game is superior, and this was showcased by the remasters. 2 feels like a fucking chore to play through and people only like it because of the gun memes. 3 was hot garbage and the series never recovered.

>playing this with kb+m @ 60 fps

Literally the best FPS of its generation.

i imagine PD and 007 are about a dozen times easier with kb+m controls. hopefully there's an option to disable autoaim at least

I absolutely love Acclaim's Turok. One thing I always like to remind people of in these threads is that Shadowman and Turok take place in the same universe. If Acclaim hadn't died, I bet we could have gotten a really amazing crossover game.

Reminder that Rage Wars was the first dedicated Arena FPS; remaster when?

I've watched someone play Goldeneye with kb+m on the hardest setting and it did still look pretty hard. I imagine it's the same for PD. I think it still had some bit of auto-aim but it was more that the bullets sort of homed in on the enemies but I don't think it was that bad and it didn't seem to make the game any easier on that difficulty.

I do need to set up the emulator to play PD at 60 fps with kb+m though. All the footage I've seen of it makes it look really good.

The people that did the 1 and 2 remasters (Nitedive?) said they were interested in the other Turok games but there hasn't been any news yet.

Maybe one day. Unlike Turok and Turok 2, Rage Wars (And Turok 3) did not have PC versions at the time.
I believe the recent remasters were rebuilt from the original PC releases, and without that luxury with Rage Wars it makes it less likely we'll get the remaster it deserves.

nah doom 64 is a meme compared to turok 2

t,someone who owned and played both back in the day

The same people (or at least someone that works for them) managed to reverse engineer Doom 64 from its cartridge data so it's possible and has been done before.

i didnt own turok 1 back in the day but i had turok 2

playing turok 1 years after i can say the 2nd one is much better, levels are better designed, better weapons, better enemies

turok 1 was ass compated to 2

>MAZE: The game

yeah nah fuck that, Turok 1 was far superior, and even then it wasn't particularly good with it's respawning enemies that can shoot you from behind the fog.

>gun that inflates dudes until they blow up
>gun that make dudes super thin until the just break
>all those fun guns that didn't make sense but were there just for the hell of it

Man now I miss this game.

>not playing it with the expansion pak
>turok 2 > turok 1

>Mag 60
>Minigun
>Inflator
>Plasma Rifle
>Grenade Launcher
This was the strongest combo

Dinosaur Hunter was a much better game than 2

youtube.com/watch?v=5EJFPrSgwWg

I couldn't believe how easy both games are on KB+M.
Does South Park count? It's more Turok than Turok 3.

>claim your game has dinosaurs in it
>fuck all for dinosaurs
They fucked it up, man.

HVGN is fucking awful.

Only the first game made that claim. It did have dinosaurs. But it also had humans, skeleton humans, demons, robots, aliens, gorilla dudes, mechs, big bugs and worms, and hummers.

this tbqhwyf

Turok 2 fucking sucks

The maps are just goddamn awful.

Turok 2 was awful though.
>"BOY I SURE DO LOVE RUNNING AROUND THIS ONE MAP FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF TRYING TO FIND THAT ONE FUCKING THING I'M MISSING DESPITE THE FACT THAT I'VE SEARCHED THE AREA 10 FUCKING TIMES ALREADY AND THE MAP DOES FUCK ALL TO HELP"

It wouldn't be nearly as bad if enemies didn't respawn.

That's not Space Station Silicon Valley.

>the first dedicated Arena FPS
What does this even mean?

>a pew pew gaym is N64's best
I'm not surprised.

I had the bugged version of this game but I still managed to play the shit out of it as a kid.

Most enemies DON'T respawn and that's half of the problem, I don't even have things to shoot at.

>Because PC was a completely separate market back then. It had nowhere near the overlap they do today.
>What is Quake?
>What is Unreal?

I played that game when I was really young so it was incredibly surreal for me. I rented it from blockbuster so it was a short-lived experience, but I always remembered it for a long ass time. I honestly thought it was a dream or something for a while. I only rediscovered it because of Sup Forums.

>nowhere near

The only problem with Turok 2 will always be the fucking hit detection, everything else its 10/10 you bitch ass nigga.

>3 was hot garbage and the series never recovered.
Fuck you Evolutuion was alright.

I remember seeing footage of it or a really early build on some old drum and base music video. Mind was blown when I found out it was a n64 game the whole time.

>Because PC was a completely separate market back then
proof?

Funny thing is that game always looks like a really early build. It's kind of creepy for some reason.

Yeah I know what you mean. It reminds me of old singsongy cartoons where everything has a boppy motion. Made a great music vid.
