What were they fucking thinking with this Barbarian system?
What were they fucking thinking with this Barbarian system?
Normalfags don't have a long enough attention span to play the game for longer than 10 minutes without combat
Git gud. You're lucky it's not IV when a giant stack shows up and ends your game
>keep a warrior and a slingshotwr close to your city
>no trouble from barbarians at all, even if you are surrounded by camps
>get an easy archery inspiration
civ 6 barbarians are easy, civ 5 barbarians could fuck you hard if you had bad luck
the hex system and no stacking completely trivialised barbarians though
>civ will always be bad from now on
>Giant stack
>Playing with events on
Fucking stackless generic combat. They killed the series after IV.
you just need like 2 units to scare them all away. You don't have to chase them down and fight them till the death until you have more units.
>liking doomstacks
Do you also enjoy watching paint dry?
>civ 4
>not having archer stacks in all your cities
>implying doomstacks ever got big enough to make combat last for more than two minutes
>implying there weren't keyboard shortcuts to order an entire stack to bombard then attack
>implying that catapults are actually .35km sq. in size
Play Gilgamesh and spam war-carts
Shuffling units around with 1upt takes longer and is horrible lategame
the problem is that its way too easy to outplay the ai, even on deity, because you play smart and they send their troops to the slaughter - atleast with stacks you could get overrun. so perhaps dont bring back doomstacks but have lets say a 5 unit cap, or have like a "force limit" system where certain troops (like calv) take up extra unit slots
i dont know, not a game dev but havent lost a single war in VI and I dont imagine anything will change for the better in the future
also
>civic system sucks ass
>districs sucks ass
all in all VI has been a huge disapointment
they made it even more tedious with the new "rough terrain" mechanic aswell
the AI is way too retarded to use limited movement over rough terrain
Is this game better than Civ 5 + all dlc?
No
if you ever let the game advance to the doomstack stage, you are a shitter and are not qualified to make any kind of judgement about them.
if I wanted to get into this what is the most tactical and strategically deep Civ?
4
Not yet. And after you're done with civ5with dlc, you can download Civ 5 vox populi mod and do another 200 hours.
is Civ II the greatest civ ever?
15 turns in and that turns up?
Not played it 6 and dunno what speed your on but that does seem a little bullshit.
Does the game just force you to build up an army right away? And even if you could depending on your game speed 15 turns may not be enough to build a single unit never mind more.
when this shit happens to me i just restart.
also, beyond earth is better than civ6
your early game certainly requires you seek out nearby barb camps and take care of them, but you wont get horsemen and archers right away usually. 2 warriors will take care of it most of the time.
Fucckkk no. Civ 6 sucks shit so far.
>a complete game vs a growing game
gee, ya think
>You're lucky it's not IV when a giant stack shows up
Should have got good and made siege weapons with splash damage you tard.
>Tfw I once had barbarian horseman spawn near my capital on turn 8
Needless to say I was fucking pissed
They cant take capitals. Worse they can do is harass workers and tiles, but you won't have those yet. Or not supposed to.
What's the best civ game for someone who's never played one?
Civ V with all dlc.
Civilization 4 and all expansions.
i once had them weaken my capital so much it was taken by an AI scout though.
Civ 4 is a bit more in depth but lacks genuine character. I think i clocked 200 hours into civ4 and am at 600 hours in civ 5. Play civ 5.
4 and 5 are both good. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses, so people will argue all day about which one is better.
Personally, I'd say 4 if you have friends to play multiplayer with, 5 if you'll be playing by yourself.
Pandering to people like me who always played Civ 5 with raging barbarians checked.
