should I replay this game?

Too bad the combat is garbage.

Best combat and gameplay in the entire Xeno series.

That just makes the other games sound worse.

once you understand how overdrive actually works the ground combat is great, skell combat sucks though.

That's because they are

XCX is the best Xeno game by far

I really like the game but everytime I visit NLA it goes to shit thanks to the music.

What were they thinking?

2 minute repeating track of the most obnoxious music known to man in a location you are in for hours.

The fucking vocals are extremely distracting and destroying player immersion. Even in cut scenes they use music with nonsensical lyrics. Why? it destroys everything the cut scene tries to build.

In the XenoBLADE series sure.

NLA's daytime theme is far better but I'm not gonna lie: the night time theme did actually grow on me after a hundred hours or so.

don't pretend like you've actually played the other xeno games

So was insurance used when when your party member's skell breaks? I never really had it happen and I haven't touched the game for a awhile.

ONE BY ONE

Nope. Your AI party members will always perfectly succeed the QTE if their skell gets destroyed. In the event that you have little insurance left on a skell, make a party member pilot it.

Hello? Is this thing on?

AM I ALL ALONE?

XBC has the best music Valak mountain night is the gold standard for night time winter music.

I NEED A BIGGER GUUUUUN

Just got back into this game after never getting far. Just got my Skell or whatever, and surveyed Oblivia to 25%. 35 hours in and I still have no idea what's going on or how to play correctly. Getting this far feels like a miracle. I have a few questions:

- How does Overdrive work?
-Does party class composition matter?
-Should I have a balanced skillset to hit Soul Voices or just layer DPS?
-Should I just stay in my Skell now? Should I buy a Skell for every member?
-Do Skells overdrive?
-What should I even be doing? It's impossible to tell which quests are shitposts and which are good.
-Is there any sort of comprehensive resource for this game? Or a living place of discussion?
-Is online important? I hacked my WiiU so I stay offline.
-Bunny suit when? Why does it require so much trash to synthesize?
-The fuck is Skell wear? Light, Medium, Heavy, Skell?
-Who should I invest in? Have them all at 4 right now.

Game is a convoluted piece of shit but I like it. Kinda fun being lost.

The night theme gets a whole lot better when you remind your self that THIS is one of those games where it's "America through Japanese eyes" kind of a situation.

You can't really compare action hybrid with turn-based hybrid just because Gears/Saga and Blade are in the same franchise. 2 different gameplay styles can't be objectively compared, just subjectively preferred.

read the manual

>- How does Overdrive work?
From what I understand it's pretty much just SUPER mode. You accumulate 3000 TP, press button and go nuts. Your arts get a 3rd cooldown that makes them stronger.

The complicated bit is the counter in the middle. So every time you use an Art that have the same color as the previously used Art, the counter will go up. What does increasing the numbers do that I do not know yet.

WE ARE STUCK ON A DIFFERENT PLANET

ONE TWO THREE FOUR

>What does increasing the numbers do that I do not know yet.
it depends on the color, I can't remember which color does what anymore but one of them extends overdrive, one of them multiplies the effect or something, and the other I think heals your party? Been almost a year since I played and tbqh I never quite understood all of it.

I unironically like both NLA themes. The day theme is better, but I also like the night theme because about 3:50 on in NLA Shigai is great.

Only yellow, orange and purple arts increase your count I think, unless you have an armour augment that causes, for example, blue arts to increase your count. You get bonuses for using different colour arts after another, for example green>yellow doubles the counter that the yellow art would give you. As the number gets higher you get passive buffs such as increased chance to inflict status elements and more damage.
I think this is how it works anyway, I haven't actually looked it up and this is what I've noticed.

This There's far too much the game doesn't tell you about the mechanics, 35 hours in you should have learned most of them i believe but it's still a good read, it explains the overdrive in detail, just google the PDF

>-Does party class composition matter?
Not really, Elma and Lin can pretty much cover everything you may need.

>-Should I have a balanced skillset to hit Soul Voices or just layer DPS?
Try to get a mix of both but go for more DPS.

>-Should I just stay in my Skell now? Should I buy a Skell for every member?
It's not really necessary for every party member unless you are planning on fighting them bigger enemies.

>-Do Skells overdrive?
Yes

>-What should I even be doing? It's impossible to tell which quests are shitposts and which are good.
Shit nigga just go with what you want. Though personally I avoid the gathering quests since they are garbage and takes up quest space.

>-Is there any sort of comprehensive resource for this game? Or a living place of discussion?
Google, son. No really that's your best chance now for any of those things you asked.

-Is online important? I hacked my WiiU so I stay offline.
No. But fuck me, I enjoy my group mission tickets. Saves me hell of time.

>-Bunny suit when? Why does it require so much trash to synthesize?
Because they know virgins will still work for it.

>-The fuck is Skell wear? Light, Medium, Heavy, Skell?
Come on son, this is not even a mystery. Light armor goes fast but weak. Beeg armor is strong but slow.

Most underrated song of all time.

>digital manuals

Before this thread dies. What classes did you guys rolled with first?

>just google the PDF
or he could just open the manual whilst in-game by pressing the home button. He said he just got back into the game after a long break, so it's highly unlikely he's emulating it as it only recently became viable to play in cemu.

Seems easier is all, since he's already on a PC i assume and you can Ctrl + F subjects of interest

Better than your favorite RPG desu

I started with the sniper but found it boring and just grinded all the classes in my skell before finishing the main story.

If this game wasn't exclusive it would've got it's ass handed to it like it rightfully deserved and been the 6.8/10 forgotten buried game that it is

I literally couldnt believe how horrible this game was until I got to play it for myself, what a boring game with garbage characters, combat, story and music with graphical quality reminicant of decade old games. What a unbelivably shit game

I guess so, where would you find a pdf though?

so how does it work?

>399248452
not even worth a (You)

Nintendo hosts one, the first google result for "Xenoblade X Manual"

I put 140 hours in the game without wrapping my head around overdrive or custom soul voices, but still enjoyed it more than the original game.
As for skells, if you fight small enemies in them you get less experience, but that's about it iirc.

Worst Xenoblade.

Mastermind. I fucking loved debuff based classes in videogames and I sure as hell ain't gonna pass on one that also got mind control mixed in. Sure the Brainjack > instakill combo doesn't work on bosses nor tyrants but man it sure made farming a whole lot easier.

my nig, so satisfying brainjacking all the standard enemies

>Releasing a game with no ending
Not even a cliffhanger end just... The story ends 70% of the way in
>Rush a hamfisted closure sequence

I wish I could go back in time and not play this game
Especially after realizing just how many materials you need for skell augments

>32 ox units for one ranged attack up
>A rare drop
>You have 20 or whatever slots

What is the fucking purpose of having that much grinding in a goddamn single player game

>OX Units
>Rare drop
Nigga just shoot their sides off for a guaranteed drop.
