not literally, no

Nah.
It does take a LOT of fucking patience though, especially with Space Mama.

No memes, is og Rayman any good? I only played 3 for the GameCube when I was a babbie and remember enjoying it, but wasn't the first a 2D shatformer?

Not OP, but yeah, this game is great, but its hard as fucking nails. My first PS1 game too.

Oddly enough, this was the game that first taught me how little satisfaction you feel from cheating. The amount of time spent trying to beat it legit and.. actually, never mind. was about type a bunch of sht but it's 6 a.m. fuk it. in short, don't cheat, kids.

>Space Mama's Crater

My father tough that this game gave the computer malware so he broke the disc. Fucking Norton antivirus detecting it as malware.

Is there ANY 2D platformer that's even remotely as difficult as this?
It seems to put all the NES games to shame.

>mfw the closest i can ever reach in this game is the end of Bongo Hills
And yet for as artificially hard as it is it's the only Rayman game that I like.

Very good game. Soundtrack is great, the sprites are gorgeous, but the gameplay hard. I remember being so furious once, that I took out the disc while the game was still playing, touching the black side of it on purpose (thought this would break the disc), throwing it across the room, taking my notes for the school and filling two pages with "FAK", because I didn't know how to spell it.
Good times
10/10 would rage again

This game is fucking easy you fags the only hard part is at Pencil Pentathlon.

i remember that i got stuck in some flying level in the mountains as a kid
kinda want to play this again

Still not as difficult as Land of the Livid Dead in Origins.

oh you wish

>FINALLY get to candy land
>about to go up against Mr Dark
>ummm you havent saved all the electrons sorry :) go back and get them all

I never got past the first or second music level.

I only ever played the Gold edition bonus levels as a kid. Where did they rank among the base Rayman game level difficulty?

Not even comparable, Land of the Livid Dead is basically a rhythm game, it takes some skills but at one point muscle memory does its work and it becomes pretty easy.
Original Rayman is actually hard

feels good seeing these threads when you beat this game as a kid
I mean, it probably took me 5 years or something, but still

The chase/chest levels basically became the music stages in Legends.

Just having music prompts makes them 50% easier

shout outs to momma slapz

>Vivid memories of fighting Skops and somehow beating him after trying a thousand times
>No memory of fighting space mama or anything inbetween Scops and the golem boss

Did i block it out of my mind? how hard was mama

Remember playing this with my brother and sister for days on end back in the days
He's got mad money saved up in his mid 20s and she's married and got 4 kids now

Meanwhile I'm a NEET approaching mid twnties myself.

How do I go on

This game is easy as fuck, you need to get fucking good.
Skullmonkeys was way harder.

finish the game

i remember starting it multiple times and never finishing it
always got stuck in the mountain levels

I finished it without cheating when I was twelve. Maybe you're just shit at games?

>electrons

>never finished this as a kid, always stuck on that mountain level where the rock monster chases you
>now i can't get past the music levels

Is this the Dark Souls of platformers?

I've finished multiple versions of this game without using a continue- PS1, PC and GBA. It's not hard at all until picture city- for some reason people bitch and complain about blue mountains or fucking band land.

obajin???

YEAH!

No it isn't.

My mother was really good at this game, I always watched her play it because I was too bad at it
