I'm bracing for at least "summer", given that the delay was announced at launch before we even got a proper release date. I assume the gap is substantial. Would not be surprised if we were left hanging for almost a year.

That being said, at least the port will probably be decent.

This guy gets it. I barely have a dozen hours with all post-MH2 weapons combined. Hunting horn, hammer and lance are all I need.

The only one I use is Hunting Horn since my first Mon Hun On Wii. Still going to be like that when I get those on both xbone and pc.

is the hunting horn any good for solo play? never bothered with it since it looks like the obligatory heal/buffslut weapon

I'd say a week to a month, maybe two. Capcom haven't done delayed launch on PC for quite some time.

They haven't even started on the PC version according to Ryozo. Plus Japan is only getting the PS4 version meaning they're going to always prioritize that version for the Japanese market.

It puts out more sustained damage than the hammer. It's weaker per-hit but it has a fast infinite combo and with the universal self improvement song it also has the fastest unsheathed movement speed. It's crazy fun. I play it in solo all the time, there's nothing more satisfying than getting a KO in the middle of playing a song on your metal as fuck bagpipes.

They wouldn't have announced the differential before they even locked down a release date if it was only going to be a week to a month between versions.

Sony's really trying their best to kill PC support. It must worry them that the dedicated MH audience is almost unanimously skeptical about needing to pay for PS plus and sales would tip heavily towards PC if the release was same-day.

They removed hunting horn in Tri alongside a bunch of other fun weapons (no bow, no gunlance). They really fucked up. I recommend trying gunlance if you enjoy hunting horn and like a good time.

maybe i played great sword in tri. but afterwards i knew i picked up Hunting Horn. I may start to learn gunlance and Hunting Horn in World when it comes out. Brother uses SwitchAxe all the time

Probably 3-5 months, since they haven’t touched much the pc versión to focus on consoles, and considering japs are not pc savvy, I wouldn’t expect a 1 month delay between console and pc versión release like my fuckwad of a friend says

There are a surprising number of people who are super dedicated MH players but don't play much else. They just jump from system to system to follow MH and put hundreds of hours in on train journeys to work etc. MHW is potentially the first time they'll have to pay for an online service, and many will already have PCs capable of playing on low settings. MH fanbase is in a pretty weird place. It's like a more hardcore japanese CoD or something.

If the rumors of Sony paying Capcom to keep this off the Switch are true, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Enjoy my dude. Do you have 4U or Gen? It might be worth going back to them and getting comfortable with GL there since it has almost exactly the same moveset. Put a few dozen hours in with it and you'll be sorted.
