How is it? The Vita version has been out for a while.
Also, do I have to wait on a fixed translation script like the last Ys game or is it fine?

Surprised to see "adult" Towa in it. Sadly, it does not look like it's even remotely worth paying full price for. I'm guessing that the ridiculously priced LE version is going to come down in price greatly by Prime Day.
Ys 8 translation is free of Burgerculture and memes. It is actually quite good compared to Aksys.
Honestly I wish all localisation companies hired non Americans.
According to How long to beat the game is around 35-50 hours and has up to 100 hours of content.

They did however reused assets from Cold Steel.
>Completionists 1 130h
Painful.
I have to put in a pre-order before tomorrow, but I feel incredibly conflicted. This game seems like an extension to Trails of Cold Steel in a remote way, and it does seem like it's long enough to justify the price, but it just looks so damn boring.
The PS4 version is an enhanced remake of the Vita game. It wasn't a simultaneous release for that reason.
A fucking recycle bin from the trails series, both assets and mechanics made into one fucking awkward action game because trails' clunky controls is still there
Wait is this part of the Trails series?
Its part of the Xanadu series.
>It is actually quite good
Fucking Japan somehow has better localisations for the English titles than the Localised version.
>good
Shouldn't you be working on redoing the entire localisation from scratch, NISA? You originally promised a 2017 release but missed it.
Pretty awful. Seeing the absolutely uninspired writing and setting coming from Falcom of all people is very disappointing. And I didn't mind the Cold Steel 1 setting either. Combat was okay.
why did they port this instead of CS2? they do the stupidest things
What? CS2 is being ported by Durante (who was contracted by xseed). Aksys has nothing to do with it.
I thought falcom decides what gets ported
Falcom puts up an auction or whatever the fuck for their games and companies can bid to get the right to localize it in the west. It was always xseed taking their stuff as there was no competition until Aksys and NISA showed up. Aksys got Tokyo Xanadu and it's unknown if xseed even tried getting it themselves. NISA outbid xseed for Ys 8 probably because they just had more money, promised a french localization, day 1 PC port (which we know how that turned out) and flew out Kondo to Europe to attend a convention or something. Xseed has CS1 and 2 since they already got the rights to publish it here years ago. Anyways, Durante/Xseed already confirmed in August or September not to expect CS2 this year because it's mainly just Durante doing all the work. So early 2018 probably.
>puts up an auction or whatever
tender
Yeah, that's the word. Thanks, user.
>cs2
hasn't that been out in the west for some time?
>still no 3.61+ on hacked vitas ;__;
It bears the name of Xanadu, but really is it's own thing. Falcom thought Cold Steel 1 wasn't Persona enough so they tried to Persona harder but with real time combat instead of turn based and that is Tokyo Xanadu.
I'm so confused. Marvelous must have some really shitty relations with other Japanese publishers because Aksys is getting things done far better than XSeeD ever has. That said, I'm not paying full price for Japanese audio.
NISA also got JP voices for YS VIII without any trouble didn't they?
