I love how you can clearly tell those who actually are playing and aren't playing the game. All the "haremshit" posters are either youtube watchers, or bystanders.
But the funniest one to me is people complaining it isn't Xenoblade and has nothing to do with it. Try playing more than 20 hours before throwing your opinion out there. It's a JRPG. All JRPGs take a good 10-20 hours to actually get going, and Xeno 2 had me hooked from the start. Get past chapter 5 for fucks sake people. Xenoblade is very much connected. And Xeno 2 is actually very important to Xenoblade's entire existence, because it deals with Zanza/Klaus and how they fucked the world over.
So quit your whining and start enjoying yourself . That includes you "Xenoblade purists"
Jeez user you didn’t have to write a fucking essay. Shows who is actually buttmad for getting baited.
Nathaniel Flores
>A paragraph >An essay
I'm not sure I even want to dignify this with a response, but here goes.
And yes, I'd say I would be quite miffed seeing as nobody can discuss a popular game they've finished because of counter shitposting. It's annoying, and iritating.
Lucas Gutierrez
The first Xenoblade hooks you from the first hour.
This game definitely has FF13 syndrome where you're playing a tutorial for the first 20 hours.
Jace Wilson
I would argue against that. When I played Xenoblade back in 2014 via rental, I ended up keeping it for 2 weeks because I was so hooked on the mechon and wanted to know more about them, I had bosses which had me stuck for literal days (Xord, Lorithia, etc.) but I kept going simply because I wanted to know how it would end. Combat was meh, but the game had me hooked.
Xeno 2 did the same with salvaging and the world below. I wanted to know more about it and the aegis' which was explained and gone into in the first chapter, and probably about 1-2 hours in. same as the first game. And I'm happy I did stick with it, because I was pleased with the end results, just the same as the first.
Adam Thompson
Watching Fiora (who you just did a dungeon with) get fucking murdered and Shulk wanting revenge will absolutely hook anyone.
Meanwhile the story in 2 opens with generic ass character doing generic ass work compared to Dunban and his 2 bros fighting a goddamn war.
I also wanted to know about the Aegis but my entire suspension of disbelief was shattered by the fact that fucking Pyra(The Aegis) is 2 feet away from you the entire game and knows everything already. It doesn't make any sense why she doesn't tell Rex a thing.
It feels like I'm playing a tales story, I'm only 60 hours in though but so far that's what it feels like.
William Hughes
>It feels like I'm playing a tales story Post-Vesperia maybe. Early tales games got right to the point with their focuses.
Aaron Sanders
XC2 > XC > XCX
Just my opinion. This game has a good story, great gameplay and combat, fun characters and good designs, awesome nopons and humour and all the fuckable waifus you need.
Jonathan Gutierrez
XC> XC2 > X for me
At least we're in agreement X was awful and had no place in the Xenoverse. It's gameplay is fine, but it's relevence in the series is utterly pointless, and now completely retconned.
Brody Collins
I didn't enjoy its gameplay too much. Honestly, if there is one thing XCX had, it was a beautiful and vast world. But there wasn't too much in it to find and I'm not /m/ enough to care that much about the mechs.
Charles Sanchez
>Post-Vesperia maybe. Early tales games got right to the point with their focuses.
nah >fucking Pyra(The Aegis) is 2 feet away from you the entire game and knows everything already. It doesn't make any sense why she doesn't tell Rex a thing. It feels like I'm playing a tales story,
Thats textbook Tales
Christopher King
>Nah Miguel literally goes up in flames not even 10 minutes into phantasia, and Mars assaults Euclid the second you get to it. Dhaos is introduced not even an hour in.
>That's textbook tales Yeah, post 2008.
William Gonzalez
HYEAR AYE COOM
RADY OR GOR MOTTY
Jordan Evans
>Watching Fiora (who you just did a dungeon with) get fucking murdered It was a mistake wandering into this thread. I’m an hour into XC1, well shit.
Anthony Baker
The nah was tied to the Pyra part. Come on, every fucking Tales has one or two party embers who knows everything but only explains later on
Nolan Cruz
She doesn't really die
Henry Rogers
I feel like that's only Abyss with Jade. Most other characters in Tales who hide things do so for a legitimate reason.
Jackson Green
I played the game for over 70 hours. It's a shit game.
If anyone hasn't played Xenoblade, play it instead. You can freely pirate it and play it 1080p 60fps on PC. If you have played it already ,maybe it's about time for a replay. Xeno 2 is such a let down.
Juan Young
Why?
Jonathan Russell
>thinking a character is permanently dead when they have a unique weapon set
I knew this shit from the get-go, step it up user
Juan Watson
Except its not. and it's a worthy sequel to a great game. You cans top with the falseflagging. It even has Zanza and expands upon Xeno's beloved story. If you're "70 hours in" you're in chapter 7-8 right now. you haven't even begun to reach it's climax. And don't act like Xeno 1 didnt have a slow slog either. It may be my favorite game of all time, but I'm not going to blindly defend it's shortcomings as well.
Evan Thomas
not him but xeno 1 isn't slow in the slightest you're misremembering
Noah Scott
>not ">All this Xenophobia" you had one job, user
Christian Barnes
I retroactively think less of Xenoblade simply because of of 2. It's that bad.
Owen Hernandez
You didn't play it though.
Liam Anderson
Xenoblade had non-stop exciting story beats straight from the beginning. I couldn't put it down, I needed to see what happened next. It's slog came in the late game after the mechonis core.
Xenoblade 2 is like one of those shitty movie ripoffs that deliberately have a name similar to something popular.
Joseph Ward
I've played it, but will probably never finish it. I don't want to waste any more time on it. >why are you wasting your time here then I'm doing a public service. I played it so you don't need to.
William Torres
You didn't play it though.
Ryder Nguyen
>Public service
Oh fuck right off. Nobody wants to hear your opinions. You're a fucking quitter who can't even have enough resolve to see his purchase to the end. If you got bored thats fine, but don't try to retroactively ruin it for everyone else because you had a tempertantrum.
Lucas Gonzalez
someone dump pics of the redhair bimbo
Aaron Clark
go to the shitpost thread for that
Jayden Ortiz
The character designs are terrible. Way too much artstyle clashing
Logan Turner
He's not tough enough to play a shitty game for 130 hours, he just can't hack it! What a fucking loser!
blimey
Mason Foster
So did 2. >A poor kid recieves a big job to help with his finance issues >Sent with an elite team to dredge up an ancient ship >Killed off by said team as a liability, who turn out to be the bad guys >Gets a second chance in life, and becomes someone important, manages to use that power to escape the villains >Gets seperated in a new location, and has to find his friends, winds up getting involved in the Mor Ardain conflict because of Nia >Sneaks onto a warship to save said friend, and winds up getting under the eye of the Ardain empire, >Try to escape with a homebuilt boat and end up in Uraya >Wind up eaten by the titan, and learn of the mercenaries, and more about blade bonding. >Vandham being a mentor then giving his life to let Rex live to fufill his duties >Mythra calling forth Siren and the foresight powers of the Aegis
ALL of that, is about akin to Xeno's story up to Xord, and all of it was far more interesting than the colony 9-6 segments. Xeno's slog also starts at prison island, not mechonis core.
Landon Garcia
Only the rare blades are different artists, and their like gashapon trinkets. They're not even plot related.
Jordan Bell
No, it's slog is definitely after mechonis core.
You are out of your mind if you think Xeno 2's best even compares to Xeno's worst.
Caleb Flores
ok, I've played a bit xenoblade and a bit more xenoblade x. now I'm like five? hours into this game and like, is there ever a proper reason or way to change your strategy? it feels like you always just press the buttons in the best order you figured out for every fight, no matter if its a trash or a bossfight.
I've had this issue with all XB games but maybe it just came from me dropping them too early?
Matthew Stewart
No, I'm a person who enjoyed both games equally. I'm sorry you seem to think you have to like one over the other. They were pretty much exactly the same in terms of pacing, and your bias is really irritating. Xenoblade chronicles is my favorite JRPg ever, and Xeno 2 was a great addition to it. You claim you love Xeno and yet you can't even see past the shitposters on a series you allegedly like. Sounds to me as if you don't like it that much to begin with.,
Christopher Brooks
>hire a bunch of hentai artists and famous seiyuu to bring life to all the rare blades >they aren't even plot related What a fucking waste of resources
Brandon Watson
Are you utilizing blade combos?
Jose King
...
Adam Flores
yes. but thats just following the right element order. I also time the attacks right. I wouldnt call that a tactic though.
Bentley Scott
>haremshit Sheba literally makes it so I have to play it like this though
Mason Morgan
It doesn't expand, it straight up changes his conclusion about manking. You could make a point of Meyneth driving im insane on XC1 world, as that was the only difference. I doubt this reason would be good enough tho
Why could Klaus see and listen to Zanza's shenaningans but Zanza couldn't listen to Klaus? Why there isn't a Galea on XC2? Can Alves comunicate with Klaus?
Ryder Sanders
Even people who played it hate it.
Austin Lopez
on XC there many tactics but changing between them hardly changes anything, aside of some being overpowered (naked dunban)
Matthew Nelson
>Update >Why could klaus see and listen to zanza Zanza was born from him, Not the other way around. Klaus is the focal point to this whole ordeal because he touched the Zohar (Yes its a fucking zohar, fuck you namco) XC2 is the world where the space time break happened, its not a secondary spanned world, which is why Zanza's communication is one way. Klaus can't talk to Zanza, only see whats happening. Play Saga if you don't understand the properties of the conduit, it's a tool left by god that can re-write the laws of reality.
Bentley Richardson
Early Villains for both games
>Metal Face >Fat Nopon
You can't with a straight face tell me Xeno 2 is anywhere near 1.
Samuel Kelly
God damn I loved Metal Face. He stole the show whenever he was on screen.
Even his short redemption ark when he runs a train over those teleathia
Dominic Russell
kingpin nopon is dope
Luke Miller
Best JRPG in a long time and better than XCX
Zachary Long
Do you seriously look at everything with such a limited view? Do you only look at concepts without reading into them?
Metal face was Mumkhar, who was a dick who just wanted the monado and power for himself, betrayed his friends, and continued being a dick to agrivate dickson when he was given a robot body to play in.
Bana is a chairman of a powerful trade guild who runs and surveys all the jobs in alrest for blade/drivers as seen on the message boards in every town. He has powerful influences over all the kingdoms, and had a massive trade route established between them as a political diplomat. That "Fat nopon" also attempted to sully said relations by killing the queen of Uraya to get Mor-ardain under fire and re-kindle the war, JUST to make more money. As well as stealing the prints to the artificial blades and mass producing them. He's essentially kingpin.
Both are great villains that do different things, Yet you break them down to "Cool looking robot" Vs "Fat nopon".
Ayden Torres
God I hate you disgusting pigs so much.
Gavin Martinez
I haven't played Chronicles 1 since it first released in NA and I still remember pretty much every story beat and side character's name.
I'm 65 hours into 2 and goddamn is it a disappointment in comparison
Mason Wood
>which is why Zanza's communication is one way > it's a tool left by god that can re-write the laws of reality.
Are you telling me two worlds with reality bending tools can`t, you know, change reality? You know they just slapped Klaus and shulk into that to make the connection.
Ayden White
>Metal face
Kills your childhood friend
>Fat Nopon
Builds at metal waifu boss that is impossible to lose to
You sitting there and saying Fat Nopon is a good villain makes me question your sanity.
Jaxon Morris
>mfw shit generic blades only
Zachary Garcia
Thanks for this, now I understand what kind of autist actually thinks 2 is a great game.
Joshua Ward
It’s ok to admit your favorite game is just ok user
Liam Stewart
This. I unironically like Drakengard 2.
Xenoblade 2 is bad. Very bad. Extremely disappointing and just might kill the series for me. But it's ok if you like it
Connor Nelson
>Even his short redemption ark when he runs a train over those teleathia
Wait, what. I don't remember that
Luke Collins
Likewise, your generalization concerns me. Characters aren't as one dimensional as you portray them to be. And killing fiora wasn't metal face's character at all. It's an act he did. Villanous acts are not always murderous ones. Money extortion and manipulation is also the building of a good villain, which Bana was.
The "Reality bending tool" in Xeno was the monado, which was an extension of the Aegis. Alvis is one of three of that trinity computer system.. Zanza is completely oblivious to the other worlds existence, and has no reason to know, because everytihng the monado shows him is contained within that world. Don't forget Alvis is Mondado. He it the one that ordains what Zanza can see.
Blake Brooks
It's really good though. You might just have bad taste in video games.
Noah Stewart
>We want the Neptunia audience! God, what a fucking waste of talent
Jeremiah Bailey
>got a good lineup and don't even care to roll for new blades
Cameron Brown
Right at the end of the game. He protects the slags little brother from a telathia, it was pretty cool.
And you're the arbiter of good taste. Money probably means more to you than it does me. Right now you are justifying your purchase. Give it a few months
Justin Davis
I'm talking about early villains here, it doesn't matter what their motivations are because you aren't supposed to know them in the early game.
All you know is what the villains did to you to give you motivation to stop them. You can't sit there and tell me you hated Bana as much as you wanted to murder Metal face.
Xavier Evans
she's the only rare blade I want but I keep getting generics and randos like Ursula
Mason Stewart
I find having a lightning type super useful for combos so she's a fantastic blade.
>Justifying your purchase Oh piss off, I've been excited for Xeno2 since reveal. Its the only reason I even bought a switch and I very much enjoyed my past week with it.
Chase Baker
meant 36
Jason Ross
You realize your questions can be answered with just that "because xenobalde 2 didn't exists back when xenoblade 1 came out"? Is something called "retroactively continuity", where elements are added in a new gome thay complement stuff from the previous one, complaining why the previous game didn't do stuff thay next game did is fucking stupid, is like asking why your parents got married if they were going to divorced 20 years later.
Mason Cox
Maybe you should have bad taste
Cameron Myers
Just let the dogs keep barking.
James Rivera
What a twisted mentality.
Are you telling me Darth vader is a good villain because he force choked a mook and speaks in a deep voice aboard the Tantive V, not because he's built a massive empire, a planetary star destorying facility, and is the last of the fallen jedi?
You can't quantify a character's worth by the first action they do, that's fucking stupid.
Christian Peterson
>I-IT GETS GOOD AFTER 20 HOURS
LMFAO
Xavier Parker
Welcome to all JRPGs ever. Enjoy your stay.
Landon Davis
XB2 is basically XB1 but the character designs are more cartoony and they feel the need to put funny anime gags in every 2nd cutscene whereas the first I don't even remember having any gags outside of... Riki's introduction and Melia slapping Shulk?
It's fine, but I wish I was still stuck on Mira. Elma and Lin may have forced their way into the party for literally all of the story but I'd rather stare at Elma's ass than Pyra's anything.
Tyler Anderson
I don't care if she's good. I just love asato mizu and I want that crying loli.
Carter Ortiz
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO IM FUCKING DYING DUDE
Austin Myers
Hes a good villain because he killed Obi-wan you dumb fuck
Levi Wood
Yes but both use the Zohar
Asher Williams
I'll have you know it takes longer than 20 hours.
Nolan Wilson
That's all due to the time lapse.
It's 2017 almost 2018. Xeno was 2011/2012. It's been 5 years and japan has changed as a culture. Have you not noticed that japan has been far more comfortable these days with keeping japanese customs in "fictional" games?
I'm not talking things like Persona here, Persona actually takes place in japan, and japanese cities, But for RPGs that take place in fictional made-up land, which usually have very Arthurnian/monarchy setups based on old english castles anf the like, You still have little things like People sitting on the floor when eating, People greeting each other when they pass buy and offering business cards, Small cramped living spaces. All these anime inspired sight gags, Its all japanese culture, and it's all normal to them, just not us. But it's also helped sell more over there, and it's why its been adopted.
I mean hell, Look at Nintendo lately, BOTW turned Kakariko into a full shinto village with kanji and everything, and Odyssey made Bowser's castle a Raijin-oni style pagoda.
The xenophobia is dying a bit more and more, and the censorship behind it isn't as strong as it used to be.
Ryan Cruz
...
Jacob Wright
What the fuck are you talking about man. Metal face dies on Galahad Fortress
Christopher Hill
Funny, thats not in the begining of the movie, I guess it doesn't count.
Monado is 1/3rd of the Aegis,. which is an extension of the Zohar. Theres a hiearchy here. Klaus himself is practically the new conduit for the Zohar. So he ranks highest, with zanza's creation being a mere offshoot.
Joshua Powell
I didn't really start to get interested in the story until like the end of chapter 4 and that's around 30hrs more or less. Before then it was just moving at a snail's pace and it just felt like a road trip or something.
Michael Rogers
You are genuinely autistic.
Carter Garcia
XC = XCX = XC2
Benjamin Baker
No bully
Michael Campbell
Is that your only rebuttal, the tried and true mis-appropriation of the word Autism that Sup Forums is so fond of? How about you open a dictionary and use a real word to insult me next time. Here, I'll help.
Now lets try this again, and see if you can actually come up with a real response.
Connor Foster
So they're both shit, then?
Nolan Murphy
...
Nolan Davis
where are some spots with lvl 75+ mobs?
Christian White
First movie of a trilogy, take your tism somewhere else.
Carson Stewart
If X was a prequel to Xenoblade and lead up to the destruction and recreation of a universe and character models didn't look like a horror show, I'd like it much more
As it stands, it's at least much better than Xeno 2
Aiden Williams
Use the Aion hangar and chain kill the Colossus's
Evan Peterson
In Gormott there's a tunnel with level 75 spiders. There's also the spot near the start of Uraya that unlocks by clearing the parasite quest that has level 70+ parasites.
