>Normal mode is too easy
>Hard mode is just bullet sponge enemies and you die in a millisecond

Just like real life

>"Realistic Mode" makes you die quickly but so do most enemies

>Realism mode
>Can still climb ladder and reload assault rifle at same time

"Realism" mode

>guns jam if you keep doing rapidfire
>enemies run out of ammo
>you can't reload when moving
>bullets go through boxes
>screen goes smokey whenever you use a firearm

Reloading while moving is very easy IRL.

great way to get yourself killed though

>realism mode
>you and most enemies die in one shot

>enemies are tough, you are not

Oh I get it..well played

as it should be

It should either slow down movement speed or reload speed. If the game has RPG elements the ability to reload without slowing down would be a great perk.

You'll slow down considerably though, so much that you're a sitting duck for any experienced marksman.

That's the way to do it though

>realism mode
>main love interest denies you for the villain

>realism mode
>shell casings you leave behind tie you to your murders

>Normal - Standard difficulty the game was initially designed around
>Elite - New enemy types, scarcer resources, and reworked areas to amplify difficulty
>Iron Man - Mutator that can be applied to Normal or Elite mode which makes death permanent.
>True Elite - Can only be unlocked by beating Elite mode with Iron Man mutator: An entirely new experience designed from the ground up to provide maximum challenge (Revamped areas, enemies, boss fights, missions, etc.)

I remember the "Golden Bullets" mode in WET where both the enemies and the player died with one shot. Completing that mode was satisfactory as fuck.

>Realism mode
>Your opponents wail in agony as they die
>So do you

>Realism mode
>Game uninstalls itself when you die

>people say the game is a movie so i pick the hardest difficulty the first time I play
>enemies die in a few shots, so do I
>stupid wallhack ability available in on easier difficulties is disabled
>ammo, tools and healing materials are really scarce
>getting into situations like having to deal with multiple armed men with next to no health, 2 revolver shots and a brick
>genuinely feel like I'm struggling to survive every encounter and get very immersed
>end up loving it

>go to Sup Forums
>they are still shitting on it for being a "movie" and easy

>Realism mode
>In an always-online game

>reloading while getting shot at

Even professionals screw up under stress

this this this this
pisses me the fuck off
god damn prey was fun, shame its bulletsponge central on hard

What game?

>Realism mode difficulty
>Both you and enemies have extremely low health and headshots are instant death instead of retarded shit like "double damage"

...

>Realism mode
>can't pause

>>enemies run out of ammo
I'd love this, it really bothers me sometimes when you play a game and have a scarce ammo supply but the enemy just keeps dumping onto you, and then when they die you get 2 bullets.

>Realism mode
>Because the game happens in a non-english speaking country, subtitles are disabled and they all speak their native language
>You have absolutely no idea what they're saying

The Last Of Us on Grounded difficulty
First combat encounter I run out of the cover I'm in to another one to get a better angle and I'm immediately dropped, knew right then it was going to be fantastic

>Realism mode
>Graphics improve and mirrors start functioning

Crysis was great

I need to replay Deus Ex

>realism mode
>protagonist lives with his mom and has no friends

>Be Korean and understand the language
>Realism mode forces me to consume years of American media until I forget my native language and only know English before I can start the game

>Heaven or Hell mode
>Everyone dies in one bullet like a realism mode in most other games

Unless it's a piece of shit gun rapid firing shouldn't cause it to jam

>resident evil 4 and 5 does this for most part

>realism mode
>damage your hearing from firing your gun indoors without protection

>elite - reworked areas
>true elite - reVAMPED areas

>doesn't even brick your system
Take your babby shit outta here

>realism mode
>no dragons interrupt your execution, because legends aren't true
>your head gets chopped off by imperial bastards
>your ancestors aren't smiling at you, because they all were just piles of organic compounds that were capable of manifesting sapience due to ridiculously complex neural networks developed after billions of years of evolution from PAHs that won cosmic lottery

The Metro games are ideal for this. Beat it on whatever difficulty, but then going through it on the hardest ranger mode with Russian dubs and no subtitles was the ideal experience.

Come to think of it, Metro is pretty much the ideal when it comes to immersion

>"Realism" mode
>you have to breath manually by constantly pressing keys to inhale and exhale air or your character dies

>ulfric just screeches REEEEEE really loud and dies like a bitch
I think I prefer this version

Even "increased AI" is bullshit. It's enemies that never miss, or bullshit like input reading

>Realism mode
>MC never goes on an adventure, instead has to work in a 9/5 job until he dies of old age

rmt food vendors everywhere

>"Hyperrealistic" difficulty
>If you die in the game you die in real life

Replaying it on nightmare right now (first playtrough was in hard) and having no idea what you're talking about

>Realistic Mode difficulty
>Enemies gain sentience
