How is it they can get Hamill to do the Joker over and over again for Batman games, but they can never get him to voice Luke Skywalker him fucking self? Is EA just that cheap?

maybe he didn't want to do it.
don't fool yourself btw hamill only voices joker in the mainline Arkham games, everywhere else it's someone different (telltale, injustice, arkham origins, lego)

voicing the joker is completely different from his original voice. Dudes like in his 60s and did luke so long ago he'd sound completely different

Maybe they didn't want to pay

Maybe he doesn't want to be typercast as the last jedi. I'm serious too, I didn't even know he was the joker until like 3 months after finishing with the first Arkham game (whatever the fuck that was named)

>Is EA just that cheap?
I can't believe you're actually asking this.

I cant even conjure what luke sounds like. Joker on the other hand is iconic and unmistakable. Luke isn't worth the investment

He is already typecast. Which is why he mostly does voice acting instead of appearing on screen.

He already threw in the towel for The Joker a while ago.

He just sounds like a bright-eyed young man with a lot of idealism and hope. It's not a specific voice but it's also not hard to envision.

Hamill hates having played Skywalker.

Mostly he hates what they're doing with him. He had his own ideas about how the character would have gone and how he'd act and Disney went "nope"

he fucking hates nu star wars. he's outright said force awakens was retarded

Hamill thinks that the car accident he was in after episode 4 made him look hideous. He's embarrassed by his own appearance and hates playing Luke Skywalker because it's basically the only time he's had to put his face on camera since then. He couldn't back out of it since he'd already played him in Episode 4 and you can tell he's always been uncomfortable with it since then, so it's no wonder he refuses to have anything to do with the role outside of the mainline films(disney had to pay him hojillions to do a 3 minute scene with no lines for the new one). He likes playing Joker though, because he's always just been a voice actor and never had to show his face. Plus I think he identifies with him a bit since Joker usually hides a fucked up face under make up.

Because Star Wars is fucking cancer. And now is incurable cancer with Disney pulling the strings.

These people don't want anything to do with Star Wars and Disney anymore. They are tired of the fake and forced hype. Star Wars lost its magic, it's honesty. It is the most cynical and forced new wave and even the main actors rather distance themselves, no matter how much they get payed, then have to deal with such disgusting and shallow series.

That's why Harrison ford asked to be killed in episode 7, why Carrie Fisher asked to be killed irl and I believe Hamill will be out of the series after this movie.

this same misinfo every thread. over and over

He's made it pretty clear he doesn't agree with the direction they took his character.

I'm probably the only person that liked his work as Majima.

go watch his panel at the last star wars con or whatever the fuck
he even said it up there. he also criticized the han solo death moment and the 2 new characters reacting the way they did, as well as the leia telepathically feeling it deal.

Mickey, it's okay, star wars will make you and goofy and Donald lots of money, but Hamill hates what you Jews have done to it. Get over it

This shit shocked me. Honest to god I didn't notice any change between ep4 and 5.
It was a surprise to me once I discovered that story, how he was in an accident and supposedly got his face so fucked he went to plastic surgery.
I don't see how he is disfigured. He just looked a bit older in ep5.

desu the worst part about the scene was the IMAGERY 101 thing.

>he's thinking about the good thing so the light is blue
>HE DECIDED TO DO THE BAD THING SO THE LIGHT IS NOW RED BUT HE'S STILL ACTING LIKE HE'S GOOD.

It's pretty noticeable when you really look at him. The accident fucked up his cheekbone real good.
In the shitty Star Wars holiday special, he was wearing a shit ton of makeup to hide it.

Goddamn, I forgot how cute Ep4 Luke was.

He said that after City and did Knight and The Killing Joke anyway. He’ll do it if it pays enough or he likes the script.

I’d bet anything he’d come back for a Rocksteady Batman Beyond game.

Sure he had plastic surgery but he's still a handsome man in episode 5. He's a far better voice actor though than screen actor. Guy nails the joker, was pissed when WB had Baker fuck the joker up

>land the biggest fucking break of acting
>get in a car crash right after

Mark had a hard life

There's a reason why the opening scene is Luke getting fisted by a Wampa.

Hamil hates Star Wars and is only in the new ones for the shekels

He didn't know that Star Wars was going to explode like it did back then. Remember, it was the 70's, this was the first movie of its kind. He was high on fame, like anyone would've been.

And to avoid becoming a horrible cgi monster like leia and tarkin

Honestly he just looks older in ep5 and 6. Not at all a disfigured monster like people love to imply.

Oh fuck I forgot Fisher was a heroine junky that died a few months ago. What are they going to fucking do?

Exactly. He hit the jackpot and then had it taken away

I thought that was Harrison Ford and he wanted Han to be killed in the orginal trilogy?

he has a completely different nose then he did in 4. not disfigured but still, he sees a different face in the mirror after that

Well yes, that shit hit him more than anyone else. Even more considering when the accident happen. When he was still young, the new face of hollywood, handsome.

Going through that traumatic experience fucked his head.
Obviously for him, the damage is bigger than for people from the outside.
I get that shit. But I don't think it is that big of a deal. I surely didn't notice any noticeable change between episodes. I just remember thinking he looked older, just like Fisher and Ford.

>I surely didn't notice any noticeable change between episodes
how, it's so obvious. it's why they had the wampa smash his face

>New face of Hollywood
I hope he understands his career didn't take off because of the star wars curse and not because he's ugly. Look at the Lord of the rings guys. They were all set to take off and have massive careers. Bloom is stuck doing pirates shit, Vigo is stuck doing extremely niche stuff. Frodo has to do quirky indie shit because he hates pedowood(was great in Maniac and that piano movie though) that one guys legacy is Lost, the rest are literally fucking who

Why only Arkham games though?

I know that story, I also know about the christmas special, the smoke machine to hide his face.
All I'm saying is, during the normal sequences, when he didn't have smoke covering his face or blood splattered, he didn't look all that different.

Also, that shit with the wampa fucking his face. That is a pretty fucked up decision from the producer.
Straight up saying he looks too different and ugly and they needed to actually disfigure him in the movie to justify his new appearance. Pretty much telling him "yeah, your face is fucked, we need to show in the movie why you are a ugly mess now by shooting a scene of a monster fucking ripping your face apart"

He quit voicing the Joker, not just for games. He said it's very straining and fucking up his vocal cords. He still might consider doing it he really likes the source material but generally he's out.

Man that Luke's accident helped Episode V, with the change of tone and all of that

Are people such fragile cucks that they fall apart when their face changes?

Get over it

The guy that voiced Luke in the games was really authentic sounding, far cheaper, and Hamill said in the past he doesn't want to take that job from aspiring voice actors. Now MORE IMPORANTLY why does Mark always look like he's soul shatteringly depressed since Disney Star Wars started?

look out, we got a badass here

He's still handsome as fuck despite it and the surgery and plastic augmentation not being anywhere near as advanced today as it was in the late 70s.

So, atm his last Joker work was in The Killing Joke?

Not him but that's one way to look at it I suppose. I think I'd find it kind of cool that art imitated life in that fashion though. In a way I had a direct impact on how the story unfolded.

I didn't think of the way that shit can ruin an actor's self esteem but as a viewer I can appreciate when a justifiable reason is written in for whatever happened to you while you were off camera.

I actually would want Sega to only do another dub for Yakuza on the account that they bring Hamill back for Majima

The whole disfiguring accident thing is just a "that kid" tier urban myth children started back then and some retards actually grew up believing it. Hamill himself debunked it too, he said he did have a car accident but wasn't even injured in it. Dude just didn't age that well.

We've gone over it multiple times in the thread. The mouse is shattering his dreams, user.

He did the joker for years for the animated show. I know he quit doing it but anything with Kevin Conroy will probably also have Hamill because the producers want that authentic Batman animated series sound. That said I think Conroy severely lost his edge in arkham Knight and think the stand in they had for Origins was better

Mark never acted out like your thinking despite landing the leading role in ANH. The one who seriously let success to get their head was Fisher, who was already born with a silver spoon in her mouth thanks to you-know-who being her mother. Hell this is especially well known during the production on TESB and RoTJ, where Fisher would be constantly getting high, doing harder and harder drugs, showing up constantly late to dress shoots and on scenes coked out of her mind.

Where as in contrast Mark always stayed humble, friendly, and everyone loved working with him; Guiness, Cushing, Harrison, Billy Dee Williams, Lucas, Keshner, James Earl Jones, Ian, etc...

He knows that he's going to be stuck being in their films until the day he dies, and envies Carrie Fisher for dying after only appearing in two.

I think the slight deformity helped with the old hermit look.

think its a mix of ea being cheap and hamill simply wanting to do other characters. The guy likes doing VA

He keeps saying since Asylum it’s his last time doing The Joker but keeps coming back for it, the last time being The Killing Joke adaptation but I imagine now it’s harder since he’s filming Star Wars again.

I think at this point he loves playing The Joker more than Luke

It has more to do with Jar Jar Abrams and Disney ass-fucking his character's legacy and assassinating Luke's personality and direction while shitting on the themes of the end of RoTJ then being in the Disney Sequel films.

He looks so much better when he's smiling you can see his eyes light up

he's always been a miserable fuck it has nothing to do with disney or star wars

Wasn't Alex Guiness irritated working with Hamill though?

that shit was so hamfisted i felt it took away from han's actual death

He looks tons better with shorter hair. Also not seeing the deformity there, the looks "worsening" for Mark got exaggerated because of time and him being out of shape after the early 80s to late 90s.

Most of it is myth, but he did break his nose during the car accident and that required some reconstruction.

I don't see any deformity. Maybe nose, but you need really look into this.

He UNJUSTED himself for the new movies, though.

He enjoys playing the Joker and Bamham fans aren't as insufferable as StarWhores fans

This, I think Mark really liked what the games made like out to be and the nu movies are fucking awful and he hates to see this thing he loves being destroyed and Luke being treated like more of a novelty. I loved seeing interviews where he was pissed about how he only had a couple of seconds of screentime and was jazzed about his role in episode 8 but now he seems pretty over it with how the Disney Jews are shafting Luke, not even for the sake of marks paycheck, but for the sake of Luke Skywalker the character

Nope. Alex loved playing pranks with Mark on some of the production crew and extras actors during ANH.
>Daily Mail
Get out.

She died after she finished her part for episode 8, episode 9 is getting the rewrite to accomodate.

I think he just didn't like Star Wars, not Hamill himself.

>every contract is the same
more likely he puts a premium on luke. relatively few people are even aware that he does VA work so his role as joker isnt as marketable. if it wasnt for TAS crew producing arkham asylum it'd be a dead role for him anyway

No, Guiness never had anything bad to say about Hamill, but he was irritated that he was becoming more recognized for Star Wars than any of his previous roles.

>heroine
I thought she was more into coke?

It's fucking weird to say but I feel like Frankie Muniz is the only dude who had early success and was smart about it. He did some shitty movies after Malcolm in the Middle then retired at like 22 with millions of dollars in the bank.

No he's had a few bit parts as Joker in Justice League action. He mainly does Swamp Thing in it which is just done as his normal voice fiddled with a little in post.

It sounds like the trauma came less from his career not taking off and more from having his appearance seriously changed for the worse, which fucked with his sense of identity and ruined his potential in a way. And it happened when he was still very young and hadn't really done much yet, so now he's looking at a long life of knowing that things will never be what they could have been.

I imagine that would seriously fuck anyone up.

Troy Baker was not better than Hamill in Knight. Baker’s a good replacement for Hamill when doesn’t want to do it, but he’s still inferior.

Hamill actually had more than one pitch in voice and variety in his laughs.

Mark Hamill really is the hero of Star Wars, god damn.

I cannot believe how much I've gone from loving to hating Star Wars.

Her dead body had tons of opiates (and coke) and heroin.
Baker was way worse than Hamill I agree. I think the guy they got to play Bruce did better in origins than Conroy did in Knight. Case in point
compare Alfred's not death with Barbara Gordon's not death

You missed the part where he bought a bunch of parking complexes in like New York (or whatever huge city) and just makes bank off those now.

>Hamill said in the past he doesn't want to take that job from aspiring voice actors.
That's actually really cool of him.

Like I said, smart about it.

Don't actually tell me you fell for these interviews on youtube that were cut together out of context. There is no excuse for this shit unless you are underage in which case you should not be here in the first place

Disregarding those, you can still tell he’s still unhappy with how the new trilogy is developing.

youtube.com/watch?v=LB7ue_exdig

Nigga probably was putting it out. Hamill hasnt ever been so poor that he cant afford cigarettes.

Thankfully he's stopped being fat and looking like death since the new movies had him get into shape

>I swear Hamill loves star wars, don't take an out of context clip where he says "I was upset that Luke only gets 5 seconds of screentime and he just makes that dumb face! I'm excited to see what they do with him in the next film"
>Don't listen to when Hamill when asked after shooting episode 8 says "huh oh yeah...uh star wars....yeah the new one is uh... yeah it's good, the whole family will love it..."

Hamill has put the kibash out on the new movies and subtly even made comparisons with the Bayformer films for at least the last two or three years now. Kennedy keeps bending over backwards playing damage control trying to spin whatever Mark says out of context to implicate something else.

At least Mark can talk shit on them.

Can you? Surely he was surprised, but he was ultimtely okay with it. Also we are talking about a man who had no idea what a Gungan was until like a year ago. You care more about SW than he does.
Yeah, listen to the full interview or shut up. You only heard what you wanted to hear and then closed your ears off, which is classic Sup Forums

Fuck off Jew Jew. Your shit films with Kennedy's self insert OC suck dick and the toys for your main characters aren't even fucking selling. Poe figures are worth more than Rey figures

If they ever do a Malcolm in the middle TV movie that shows what everyone has been up to that should be his backstory

Conroy has phoned it in alot recent, but I literally came myself after hearing the “I am vengeance, I am the night, I am Batman!” line at the end of Arkham Knight.

Honestly, one of my favorite Batman voices was fucking Peter Weller in the DKR movies.

Reese best boy

Isn't shit-talking your own movie a major taboo among actors? Or does Hamill just not give a fuck?

>confirmed for never seeing Mark's solo interviews the last couple of years

It's not like he has an acting career.

At least Chris Roberts got him to basically play Luke again, back when Roberts actually made games that were released.

You are confirmed to not have done that, indeed. At least not the full ones.
