Fun for around a month, then got stale.

It was fun

Fun.

>only one player per character
This is a thing? Never played Overmeme.

>Winston was nerfed into oblivion due to stacking monkey rape gangs
>stacking no longer a thing
>Winston still unchanged

Meta was double tracer double winston double lucio for a while if I remember.

Was complete crap.
Double Hanzo in QP was cancer.

Stacking wasn't that hard to counter as long as people played smart, which most people didn't. Yeah it was normally effective at the start round, but if you're team wasn't too incompetent it wasn't hard to counter it. That said those matches with a mixture of torb and buffed symmetra was pretty entertaining.

>not doing full of 6 HARD WORK PAYS OFF and win both attack and defense by just fucking wrecking everything

it was fucking retarded.
one of the best changes they made

Honestly it wasn't used a whole lot. Occasionally you get meme teams but for the most part people actually picked different characters and decently well rounded teams.

Full Symmetras or Torbs was pretty fun. Same with Mei. 4 Pharah's and 2 Mercy's was probably one of the most outright unstoppable ensembles.

Everything else was just okay and most could be countered with a well rounded team, hence why it was uncommon for meme teams. Though I do miss 4 reins and 2 bastions on payload maps

The problem was that the attacking team had an uncounterable advantage in being able to stack a particular hero. The defending team would get attacked and probably beaten. When the defending team changed their comp to counter the new hero, the attacking team would just change again.

The situation would also play out in reverse when you got to the final point of defense maps and the defending team could change their comp easily since their spawn was right by the point

I still think one hero limit is stupid, because its a crutch for the devs to limit the impact hero balance problems have, but a 2 hero limit in QP would have been more fun.

thanks doc

It was just as shitty and boring as the current Overwatch, but sometimes you could go DUDE WUDNT IT B FUNI IF WE ALL WENT 1 CHARACTER AS A PRANK XD. It was funny like once or twice then stopped.

Yeah, but it was sort of broken which from the responses I see here people found fun. If you had 2-3 Mei's on a team, they could just keep Ice Walling/Freezing themselves to make it super hard for the other team to do anything.

Oh yeah, I'm not necessarily defending stacking one class, I thought it was pretty stupid as well, it's just a lot of times if your team played smart it could be countered. You're right though it did benefit the attacking side more.

Well that's just because Blizzard has shitty character designs. In TF2 you can rush as any class and easily be countered. In OW you have retarded skills that make you invincible and then the same character has a free escape button too.

>ccasionally you get meme teams but for the most part people actually picked different characters and decently well rounded teams.
fucking bullshit
it was the absolute rarity to see a game where you hadn't double bullshit comps

Do they not still allow it in quickplay/arcade?

There were less arguments for one thing, people weren’t locked out of their favourite class.

They do in no-limits mode, which isn't always on and is barely played because its not wacky like the other arcade modes

Shit, nothing says shitty time like three meis on enemy team

Full Winston was some of the most fun you could have. 6 monkeys all leaping through the air like retards, bonus points if you make exaggerated monkey noises on mic. The best part is with all that you could easily win.

SIX GIANT MONKEYS, LEAPiNG ON THE POINT

basically any full hero team could be a lot of fun since a full team of the same hero could actually cover the weakness of the hero.

he's received some good buffs since then. the absence of fan the hammer mccree also treated him well

Broken and shit.
Was only fun when both teams understood nothing about the meta and would do all Reinhardt and stupid shit like that.

It was fun, but broken.

>all those matches in free play playing the same heroes
>other team salty, 100% guaranteed
>one time we tell the other team we're going all Mei, so they do too
>fun as fuck match, walls everywhere
>fun killed because faggots want to treat free play like competitive

>shakes maracas into the sunset on el burro
Every time.

>2 winstons was OP faceroll
>5 DVA was hilarious

thats really the only two comps of note from hero stacking

My favorite meme strat was going a mix of torbjorns, symmetras, and maybe one healer after the symmetra buff. Getting multiple shield generators up to create tank symmetras.

You can still play multiples in the arcade. The arcade is more fun than the actual game because you can make modifications to it.

Fun. I bought it at launch because I was having a ton of fun with dumb shit like this. Blizzard then added competitive and then changed quick-play to be time-out for competitivefags, and now they reap what they sow with all this talk of 'toxicity' and shit.
