Divinity OS2. Was it better than the first or did the rushed ending and armor system/ap changes ruin it?
Divinity OS2. Was it better than the first or did the rushed ending and armor system/ap changes ruin it?
It was alright, I guess. Distracted me for a while. PoE 2 is gonna be much better, though.
Here, have a bump. We need more threads about non-shit RPGs on Sup Forums.
You can't discuss this game on Sup Forums, the memes have melted the brain of the posters here.
Its a great game, the best RPG of the year no doubt, the only problem is the armor system.
armor system is total garbage
The armor system isn't even that bad and I find it preferable to "reload until you get to go first and just spam CC and stunlock everything for the entire fight"
Why don't people like the armor system
Split armor types make it feel like early on you need an all physical damage party or an all magical damage party.
I've never played DivOS1 or the enhanced version of it. Is it better than 2?
Didn't care for the story/characters in the first game so I dropped it, Have been enjoying DoS2 alot more.
Will this game have comfy co-op? Literally the only reason I picked up Divinity was to play a campaign with my friend
Nope. Sorry.
Is there any effective differance between standing in a poison puddle vs in a poison cloud? Currently playing a coop campaign and we got a skellington and a mistmaker.
complete garbage only newfags or redditors like it, it's a 3/10 compared to the original's 9/10
No. But it'll have shitty gameplay and uninspired story and setting
Explain
That's true imma bump this because we need less shit RPGs discussion
So, basically everyone thinks DOS2 is just "OK"? I felt the same of Pillars of Eternity too.
When are we gonna get a truely great CRPG?
I want another Neverwinter Nights 2.
No only mouthy pricks with weird tastes think OS2 is bad. Most people have it high on their gotta lists
It's the one of the best rpg I've played in a long time that was actually fun and didn't feel like a chore to finish.
Well, then how do you guys compare it to PoE or the first DOS?
Cause both are neat I guess, but not truly great.
What exactly is wrong with the armor system?
One of the best RPG I have played all year. Has its flaws like some side quests not going away when you finish them or some quests not getting a proper end. Its a solid 9 for me.
I enjoyed the first one more. The second lacks the Larian charme. And it kind of drags on. It's not a bad game but it left me a bit disappointed.
Because they're pussies. That's what it amounts to.
In the previous game you could chain multiple turns back to back and CC the fuck out of the enemy with percentage based skills and drowning them in AP.
In the second game you're guaranteed to CC them if you shred their armor. And sure, sometimes they're fucking damage sponges. But it's better than the previous system because you know EXACTLY if your shit is going to connect or not thereby you can make tactical decisions and be rewarded with some degree of reliability.
People bitch about the level scaling system being unfair and the gear being so important. Yes, the levels are important, but the fucking gear isn't. So long as you achieve level parity, which is pretty fucking easy because experience can come from non-combat situations, you can get by on your wits. I was consistently trucking around gear 3-5 levels lower than my actual level and cranked this game out on Hard mode. You just have to make good decisions and the respec system lets you fucking experiment, which is fantastic.
>And it kind of drags on. It's not a bad game but it left me a bit disappointed.
That's how I felt about pretty much PoE and the first DOS.
Think I'll just wait for another game. It's too much money for me to spend to just feel the same.
I just murdered the elf girl who had a needle at our first encounter. Did I fuck up?
Divinity os 2 is to div os 1 as BG2 to BG1
>PoE 2 is gonna be much better, though.
Only somewhat related but is Age of Decadence any good?
It solved the problem with D:OS 1/EE's combat by introducing a completely different one.
Nope, absolutely nothing of value was lost.
Age of Decadence is a mixed bag. It's very short, but they beauty is the absolutely ridiculous amount of paths you can use to get through it. It has probably the most replayability of any RPG in recent years. However, due to its small scope, I wouldn't pay more than $20 for it.
Punishes split damage builds and party composition in favor of pure physical/magic and weakens the effectiveness of debuffs, especially stuff like taunt. This problem can be solved by having characters whose damage is so high they delete armor in one turn, ie archers.
>le every game needs to be about the end of the world and take 100's of hours to beat a single time to be worth more than $20!!!
Fuck off. Its smaller scope is a breath of fresh air.
Redpill me on the forced PoE/D:OS rivalry.
Who is behind it, and what is their endgame?
Just a meme to entertain the non-plebs on this board.
The armor system is pretty garbage, and I didn't like how they gutted crafting
Obsidianus are desperate because people aren't buying their games.
Yeah but when that scope is 30 minutes to 2 hours? The longest path through Age of Decadence is like only 3 hours long. Replayability can only extend a game's lifespan so much.
Is playing DOS1 necessary for DOS2?
Overall, 1 was better.
Crafting was ruined. Particularly weapon and armor crafting.
The combat is objectively worse. The split system doesn't just fuck up your party composition but also your build composition. Builds like duel wielding are literally worthless because weapons only get elemental damage as modifiers.
Quest quality is about the same, better than PoE but still not fantastic.
Nope.
