Can't turn off the console via controller when docked

Not op but if the joycons are docked I have to remove it to navigate that menu to actually shut it off.
if the joycons are docked you press the power button on the switch
>durr hurr how come I can't turn it off wirelessly with my mind
You can use sleep mode but cant power it off completely.
if it's docked why would you need to power it off completely?
Yes but once that menu pops up to shut it off completely I have to remove it to navigate that menu. Read the whole post before you respond.
I never said that. Think before you post.
then riddle me this: if the controllers are attached to the console, and you don't have any controller in your hand and the system is docked, how the fuck else do you expect to turn off the console?
>not using pro controller?
What are you, poor?
are you legit retarded? you only need to hold the power button to turn it off, there's no menu for that. You hold down the HOME button on the controller to open that mini menu. Have you ever used a switch at all?
Because people think it hurts the battery/console or wastes electricity.
Some people just like turning off their electronics.
can't turn off the console completely that way. sleep mode only.
>Because people think it hurts the battery/console or wastes electricity.
the opposite is true, it's bad for the health of a battery to completely turn off a device or disconnect the battery, it's why devices always discharge a small amount even when not in use.
>have pro controller
>hold down home button
>menu appears
>sleep mode and cancel are the only options
>have to get up and touch the off button on the docked console manually like a retard
>switch is innovative
great fucking console.
wrong. You hold the power button for a few seconds longer than it takes to enter standby and it turns off completely - I've tested it.
with the controller?
what's wrong with standby?
most TVs only enter standby when you press the off button on the remote.
read the reply chain
don't want to screw the battery, though.

Can anybody explain why sleep mode isn't good enough? Do you power off your smartphones every time you set them down too?
>inb4 battery issues when modern electronics are shifting to a more sleep-focused usage cycle
it's just because shitposting, I think OP didn't realise you actually can put the system on standby via controller at all and backpedaled on it with the "well uh it's only standby not completely off!", despite the fact most devices only go to standby when you 'turn them off' anyway.
WiiConnect24 fucked up more than a few Wiis, and Rest Mode on PS4 may as well be Space Heater Mode. I tend to power down my systems all the way AND remove the plug. One power surge (it was the power company's fault) smoking my Wii's power cord was enough.
by buying a better console that you can turn off
you can turn it off the same way as you turn off any other console. How is this even a thread?
Either you were using the systemin handheld mode, so shut it off before you dock it
OR
you were using the Joycons unclipped, so shut it off before you clip them on
OR OR
you were using a Pro controller, so shut it off before you put the controller away.
How the fuck did you even get yourself into this situation, you stupid asshole? This is entirely your own fault.
>WiiConnect24
not the same as sleep mode.
yes you can... nice shitpost tho
