Anyone else very underwhelmed...

Anyone else very underwhelmed? Seems like they REALLY needed to do something to bring life back into the game and just did something WoD-level mediocre.

WoW is dead, dude. Just wait for Classic.

It feels underwhelming because of a large lack of detail right now. Their "deep-dive" at blizzcon didn't touch classes or mechanics at all, just a brief feature overview. Blizzard really needs to go into the meat of the changes to interest people.

There is literally over a year of Legion left.

You would be 'underwhelmed' no matter what they announce because you've been playing it for so long. Things get old

They dont need to iterate much. Many of Legion's features are confirmed for returning and dont need much improvment.

M+, world quests, and raiding is more than enough content for many players.

People say the same thing every expansion. The exact same when Legion was announced.

...

Please STFU.

>he still plays WoW after Cataclysm

the washed out logo bugs the fuck out of me

The addition of level scaling to old leveling content and old dungeons/raids currently being tested on the PTR is legitimately more interesting than anything happening with BfA.

now fight

The class gameplay peaked at MoP.

fuck nuwow, classic soon

That's like your opinion and it's also wrong!

Wait till alpha/beta footage starts coming out, then people will be able to see new areas, new quests, new systems, everything will start getting going.

As for the theme, its obvious they're going to do delve into old god/void shit by the end, no one expected to be going to argus when legion was announced, same rule applies here. Wouldnt be surprised if nzoth kicks the bucket before the end

did legion pull a lich king and make it so demon hunter was the only class worth playing?

I'm hoping for some pretty intensive changes and innovative features.

Things like being able to move windows. A sell junk button. A new brand new UI, one where you can scale windows and elements independent of each other, just as important - one that doesn't look like shit. Oh! How about High Elf Undead? Or just new character appearance options overall?

I know that is some crazy shit. Blizzard doesn't have a big team or a lot of money like most other MMO developers, but maybe they could manage to pull it off! :D

There are addons to fix almost everything you just said.

Addons fix all of your UI problems.

Belf DKs are high elf undeads.

>Addons

>not playing with addons

High Elves lived in Loderan.

Uh no? High Elves are from Silvermoon and largely turned into Blood Elves with few exeptions.

Belf DKs are high or blood elves that have died between WC3 and WoTLK. Just like how Worgen DK aren't Gilnaen, the Belf DKs aren't inherently Blood Elves.

They started off very strong and have fallen off immensely. Mediocre to bad now.

is this game even fun anymore? I quit during WotLK, borrowed a friend's login and played WoD and found it boring.

You don't know shit about lore. Dwarves, humans and elves lived on the continent of Lordaeron and IN Lordaeron City. So why are the Forsaken not a mix of the 3 races?

It plays somewhere between diablo 3 and WoTLK. WoD was a hot mess, game has improved drastically.

I'll take the bait. If you think travelers, adventurers, and merchants make up a sizable enough population for them to be relevant as playable undead, I guess? The High Elves specifically were fairly xenophobic and isolationist, not many left Eversong. Lordaeron may have been an accepting society, but Dwarves live almost exclusively in the Khaz'modan region and Elves in Silvermoon. Not a lot of mingling ever happened outside of trade and travel.

When Lord went to shit, the Elves straight up pieced the fuck out, and Dwarves did just about as much.

I'm responding to a person who won't use addons to fix problems that legit solve themselves. Why am I wasting my time?

>Undead humans andelvesfreed from theLich King's control, the Forsaken are a strange and dark force. Hailing from the twisted, skittering darkness ofUndercity, the Forsaken are nominally allied with theHorde, but serve only themselves.

I use addons but addons are a band-aid and I would prefer official support. Next, assume at least 500-1000 of the smallest minority of the secondary races at some time we're in Lordaeron. That gives reason to expect that a fraction of the Forsaken are minority races. At the least, since dark rangers are high elves - why can't players be given a choice besides undead human? Seeing as the Scourge was made up of every race and Lordaeron was multiracial?

::effort::
also wouldn't place any stock at all into simple MMO mechanics and their representation of any lore believability or realistic manners in which populations behave

Still strong in PvP, they're great in melee cleaves

Seriously this. If you thought the recent expansions were mediocre, it's going to stay mediocre. This is the current direction Blizzard is taking it, they don't see a reason to change it up any time soon. While many of us don't like it the current playerbase apparently likes it well enough.

If you don't like modern WoW then just wait for classic.

So you are wrong. But are hiding behind meme posts to try and save face.

>Undead humans andelvesfreed from theLich King's control
Your own quote works against you.

Even within exceptions, not all are playable. We have about 3 dozen viable race options from the warcraft lifespan. We also have various NPCs that hold classes that aren't playable options. IE pandaren DK and Nelf Pal. So, you're right in that there could have been some in Lord when it fell, but not enough to warent them as playable.

Hell, Ogres were a primary part of the Horde in WC 1, 2, and 3, and are just outright absent in WoW as a Horde race.

You're cherrypicking the only option that actually exists within game. Both undead Elves and Dwarves are playable through the DK class. I don't know what you're on about.

not the guy you were responding to

>muh big scary demon monsters are gone now

Not him, but honestly just fucking unlock every combination. They've been hanging out long enough to figure out how to make flower bandaids and spooky sword slash attacks.
And then remove racials from rated, i'm tired of human supremacy.

Are they going to change zones permanently or will it just be phasing like battle for undercity in wrath etc?

>human supremacy
Not since they nerfed their racial. Orc is the new white meat.

I remember one of the Blizzcon panels actually outright stating Azshara was going to poke her head up at some point during BfA. If Azshara shows up, it's almost guaranteed we're getting old god shit during or after that.

>human supremacy
EMFHS shares a cooldown with your PvP template trinket. So you're either retarded and dont have it bound, or you're not up to date on the PvP system. Will of the Forsaken operates the same way. Human racial is also only a stunbreak, you cant break more than half the CCs in the game.

I do agree that classes should be unlocked.

It's still the best on alliance, my rogue and hunter rolled belf though, arcane torrent is the real horde MvP unless you're dealing with a rogue(seriously fuck orcs)

I know how it works, and it's still by far the best on alliance. And now that you mention it Will is actually good again in 2's which makes me want to dust off my old skelly priest.

If you know how it works, you'd know that in PvP, its nothing but a ribbon flavor spell because Gladiator's medalion is exponentially better. They share a cooldown.

WoTF and EMFHS are both next to useless in PvP currently. Everyone has Medalion baseline.

Permanently. Mobs will scale depending where you are. Azeroth mobs will scale upwards of up to 60 (Cata zones will differ), Outlands up to 80 and so will Northrend.

It's still great against CC heavy combs, arguably it's useless against cleaves but it still reduces the time before you can trinket again which saves lives. Against RMP etc it's just fantastic.

Cata 1-60 content is 1-60 scaled. TBC and WoTLK are combined at 60-80. Cata and MoP are combined at 80-90. WoD is WoD. Legion is Legion.

>Make every race every class
>Pandaren DKS
>Draenei warlocks
>Highmountain demon hunters
>Blood elf druids
>Nightborne DKs
Time to kill yourself my man

>Addons are a band-aid
They're a decade old band aid at this point.
Blizzard knows at the point anyone who cares enough can get an addon to fix about any ui problem.
Why would they do it when the community does it for free?

Do you not understand that Medallion and human racial share a cooldown, and that every player has Medallion as part of their base kits through the PvP talent tree? And Medallion removes all CC when human racial only breaks stuns?

They share the same cooldown. One breaks all CC, the other only breaks stuns. There is no situation where using human racial is better than medallion.

The only time EMFHS is useful is in PvE where you dont have Medallion.

Let it go, it's obvious he's either wildly out of date or neo/v/ trying to look cool regurgitating stuff he's been told.

>Pandaren DKS
No one plays pandaren. And if the Lich King has poor enough taste to res one, why the fuck not?
>Draenei warlocks
Yes, where have we seen Draenei use fel magic before? I'm sure i've seen it somewhere...
>Highmountain demon hunters
As dumb as tauren monks, i'll give you that this one is particularly stupid. But not more stupid than so many other things in the game.
>Blood elf druids
Tyrande rehabilitated them with her breastmilk. Habeeb it.
>Nightborne DKs
Like Pandas, just say the Lich King rez'd them later on or write a few of them in earlier in the story.
I don't care if there is a few retard combs, like gnome warrior, tauren monk/DH etc. Just let me be whatever the fuck i want i dont care about the deviantart tier lore.

pretty much. i'm stoned as fuck, i'll take baits, idgaf.

As someone with class commitment issues wow is garbage right now.

It looks like they are betting a lot on random island scenarios but the footage on blizzcone was a borefest.

Can't say I'm exited about returning to low-fantasy adventures but that's what the vanilla crowd wants so , meh...

Wannabe eredar would not be accepted in draenei society

The vanilla crowd wants vanilla, and we're getting it. I'm not going to be subscribed to retail unless they force me to.

>Tries and fails spectacularly to use lore excuses where there are none (which is why I used those examples)
>Lmao lore who gives a fuck dude

Also just to sate my autism
-Arthas isn't alive to raise panda's let alone fucking nightborne
-Tyrande isn't a fucking druid
-Draenei aren't man'ari eredar
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

>if the Lich King has poor enough taste to res one
Oddly enough, there's actually only one known Pandaren DK in the first place.

>Anyone else very underwhelmed?

B-but muh reskins... I mean Allied Races!

I for one am stoked to get rid of the shity artifact weapons.

Less stoked about them removing tier set bonuses.

Post Cataclysm world has been around longer than pre Cataclysm world.

>MAN I'M SO TIRED OF ALL THESE DEMONS AND EVERYONE SUCKING MY DICK I WISH IT WAS JUST WARCRAFT AND I WAS JUST A SOLDIER OR AN ADVENTURER
Blizzard presents: Battle for Azeroth
>WTF SO UNDERWHELMING FILLER EXPANSION

You fuckers will just whine simply to whine

>pity 10% increase to certain abilities when I rather have a non tier piece that has better secondary stats for all my abilities instead

WOW ITS ALMOST LIKE DIFFERENT PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT OPINIONS WHO KNEW

They can't retract the epic hero of destiny narrative at this point.
Artifact weapons made it an even bigger impossibility.

"Oh hey give up this literal weapon of the gods that you have wielded without an equal, now go kill 6 Gilnean inbreds"

Well your opinion is shit

WoW's biggest problem is always going to be it's competing with a different market when it launched.
Compare getting your buddies (buddies not guild) together to do a 5man to how easily you can get them together for a round of dota/lol/csgo/pubg/*insertyourfirendsflavourofmpgamehere*.
There's just no comparison those games have almost no time commitment outside of actually playing, no one can get 'left behind', offer that same feedback re; a feeling of progression in a tenth of the time and some of them are fucking free.

This. A few zone flyovers and a few shots of what mobs we're gonna be killing don't really interest me anymore. I wanna see features, or at the very least some in-progress looks at what class changes are in store.

Spoken like someone who's not going to have to run ToS forever in hopes of getting a titan forges piece of tier because your optimal setup is 4p tos/2p antorus or the reverse.

I don't really care abou min maxing, I just have the 4p set bonus as a personal goal every raid tier.

WoD ones were really fun, since they actually changed visual stuff.

My opinion is that I don't give a damn about the space shit but okay

Are all of the old dungeons scaling up to the level cap? I'd fucking LOVE to run dungeons like WC and Deadmines on mythic+.

They're scaling them up in brackets. Vanilla to 60, TBC and WOTLK to 80 and so on. They said that timewalking M+ isn't out of question but no plans for now.

Not a chance, the old stuff just scales to the leveling experience within certain parameters.

They are not max level content.

I'm perfectly fine with them removing tier set bonuses, they were too powerful and warped classes in a bad way. I just hope we'll at least get some more class sets or at the very least great-looking sets for all armor types like the TOV sets.

They said that because legion was the big 'class fantasy' expansion there's aren't going to be focusing on specs in BFA (which is typical Blizzard laze, saying something they could get away with a decade ago and thinking that will fly in this market).
But surely that doesn't mean they're going to leave Demo (or to a much lesser extent) outlaw rogues and Frost DKs as is they need more help then random bonuses on a neck can provide.

>A random chance to get gnomer or BRS from 1-60
Hold me Sup Forums

They just said that specs aren't going to be changed as drastically as Survival and Outlaw were, which is good. There's definitely gonna be some changes, just not massive ones that change the entire spec.

I'm actually much more excited for it than I usually am for a WoW expansion. I care more about back end than new stuff. Leveling changes and PvP changes were long overdue, and people're complaining about the allied races being lazy but I appreciate the framework being introduced for them. They're stepping away from a lot of the shit systems brought on by WoD and Legion too.

My man, it was fun shitting out faerie dragons
, summoning images of heroes as mage etc.

They are revamping demonology and survival, that's it.

>By the end
Already confirmed that the first raid is an old gods theme.

what is the point of zone scaling, I don't get it. Surely if you're geared you can still 1 shot everything

Demo needs massive ones that change the entire spec, the spec they provided in legion has worst aspects of BM and 6 GCDs of setup which makes it a nightmare for anything but a patchwerk scenario (even then it doesn't outperform aff or destro).
Outlaw needs something to replace roll the bones that isn't slice and dice.

How can you be 'geared' while leveling? Of course scaling doesn't effect a geared max level character.

>If you are lvl 110, you can't see people lvl 60
Yes, Blizzard, I don't wanna see the big mean people, the world is scary enough like this, I don't wanna get killed by stronger players :((((

Fucking bitches, I'll never play WoW again, I'm proud enough I stopped playing after MoP and didn't give more money to these fags.

I kinda wish Blizzard would take a week to fix flying in TBC starting zones, shit bothers me more than it should and I don't even go there. Also they should make each capital city have something unique to have a reason to go there, even if it's one off event shit

So you can complete the zone questline without outleveling it and getting EXP penalty.
Also they've blanket increased health of low level enemies.

Underwhelming is exactly what I want out of a wow expansion. The game is at it's best when they don't try awful new things.

If blizzard doesn't at least give people who preorder BfA access to some of the allied races, they are retarded. Preferably much sooner.

nobody buys my worthless ilvl 180 green BoEs from the AH even though I list them at 30% of their price...

People on PTR are saying that you can't, and even if you could the intention is to let you go through questing content at a reasonable pace and choose where you want to go instead of having to do half a zone then shuffle over to the next one, or grind dungeons between idling in your capital.

>Completely change the way enhancement plays because it involves constant plate spinning and has 15+ sources of low impact damage that 'doesn't feel fun and prevents new players being able to use the spec'
>"Add" and "new" spec that's entirely constant plate spinning with 15+ sources of low impact damage to what is supposed to be an accessible class that's predominately played by women and children.
Jeeze where did survival go wrong?

Is it still possible to lazily grind old raids to make gold for a sub token?

I see. Now if only they could let me bypass Outland entirely

You CAN still one shot things with heirlooms, but it's not often. Scaling isn't about nerfing your damage or anything it's mostly for your quests not turning green then gray and moving to another zone.

But I love how new survival plays.

It'll probably be like Legion pre-orders letting you play Demon Hunter a few weeks early, but with the new allied races.

in EU at least the token is getting close to 300k so I doubt it

Can someone suggest an essential list of addons that arent to hard to set up for a noob, only played since near end of warlords but internets been down for last 8 months so havent had a chance to play
