From the creators of The Vanish of Ethan Carter

>From the creators of The Vanish of Ethan Carter
>Oh, it's going to be another shitty walking simulator
>And the creators of Bullet Storm and PainKiller

Holy shit. Never has my opinion of a game taken a complete hundred eighty degrees, What does Sup Forums think of it?

It looks cool as fuck

Looked awesome. Loved that little twist in the trailer, it actually made me chuckle.

Thought it was going to be another dumb walking simulator, but was genuinely surprised when it looked like a skeleton shooter action game

VoEC is honestly pretty good as far as walking sims go. I mean it at least gets right the things you expect from a walking sim, like good graphics and story unlike shit like Gone Home or Firewatch.

>tfw I actually closed the tab after reading the mention of the creator of walking sim
Kek, fuck me. Guess I have to watch the trailer to the end now.

>Guess I have to watch the trailer to the end now.
There were only a few seconds between the first statement and the second. I'm surprised you were even able to get to your mouse and close the tab that quickly.

Haven't seen what you're talking abut but Bulletstorm was the shit, so it has my money.

You should. It actually looks pretty darn good. At first I thought it looked to good to have gameplay since those kind of graphics are usually reserved for walking simulators.

That honestly took me by surprise
>oh great, another walking simulator, good job Geoff
>"also by creators of Painkiller and Bulletstorm"

It's like you didn't even obsessively track where the various people from People Can Fly ended up.
Was I the only one?

i didnt watch, what was the twist?

At the beginning it looks like a walking simulator and text flashes up that says
>From the creators of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
but a little later the character pulls out a gun and new text says
>But also Painkiller and Bulletstorm
And then there's a little montage of skeletons getting blasted

Ethan Carter was a puzzle game like Myst though.

I think it looks interesting but my reaction wasn't a 180. It's okay for games to be walking simulators or """cinematic experiences.""" They're not the epitome or standard of quality in video games but it's okay for there to be genre of games you don't play

>spooky place
>"from the creators of the vanishing of ethan carter"
>more spooky
>player pulls out a gun
>"and also painkiller and bulletstorm"
>player shoots the calcium out of a whole bunch of skeletons

Firewatch had a good story, what drugs are you on? Yes, the ending was just a tad disappointing, but it doesn't ruin the other 99% of the game. I say that as someone who literally played that and Ethan Carter for the first time just a few days ago.

fuck off fag

>stop liking what I don't like
This screams insecurity, sorry the media attention to walking sims invalidates your preferences

fuck off fag

The guns look to be fun, they had a real kick to them. Saw some magic and dodge mechanics too.

Story looks like it’s gonna tell itself from the way it was presented but that’s just a guess. No over dramatic narration is a plus.

Art style is amazing. I hope I don’t hear from those “too brown muh vibrant color” fucks again.

Overall can’t wait.

looks great, wouldn't mind a gothic shooter for once, very nice.

What's wrong with firewatch? Graphics are subjective since it's heavily stylized and you could always just say the art style is ugly I thought it was serviceable. The story to firewatch is fine, it sticks to its theme of escapism and even tries to draw the player's attention to the fact that games are often used for escapism, but I see this was lost on you.

actual spoilers below
>story ramps up by instilling paranoia in the player
>keeps suggesting bigger and more grandiose conspiracies working behind the scenes
>player is getting lost in the excitement
>game ends with all the major characters realizing that they have to face reality and that trying to escape from their problems isn't the answer
>results in a down to earth ending that underplays the expectations the game set up
It's here that you're supposed to understand the theme and realize the ending is "boring"
to make a point and up keep the integrity of the game instead of pander to the player and feed them some fantastical plot
